Brace yourself if you get their calzone it is the size of a pizza and stuffed with delicious veggies and meat. It’s so big they actually put it in a pizza box. I also tried their meatball sub and their chicken Parm sub and both were very tasty. The staff is friendly and everything is fresh made if you’re willing to wait a couple of minutes or order ahead and go pick it up. Would definitely recommend this over one of the big chain pizza stores any day!

I ordered takeout from Mama’s on Unilocal because I work in Pinellas Park and don’t really know the area too well. I saw some great reviews for Mama’s and the prices were acceptable. I ordered the lunch special of 2 slices of pizza and a soda. The food came in a timely manner and the delivery guy was SUPER nice. The pizza however, was pretty bad. I wasn’t expecting too much because I’ve never eaten here before but it was just terrible. The pizza was super thin and BLAND. And the crust. It was so hard I couldn’t even bite into it. My coworker thought it was hilarious that he could hear me struggling to bite into the crust from across the room. The delivery guy forgot my drink(which was fine, I know things happen), he was nice enough to run across the street to the gas station and buy me two sodas for the inconvenience. His service alone is why I didn’t rate that horrible pizza with one star. Probably won’t be returning to Mama’s.

Worst pizza I’ve ever tasted! The«fresh» basil was ground flakes. And he management is clueless. Disgusting bathroom and establishment

After running errands a bit far from home, I decided to try a new pizza place and get take out here. I ordered a simple 18-inch pepperoni pizza and waited 15 minutes until it was ready. The cost was just around $ 15. The pizza? Just ok… Not gross, but not great or memorable whatsoever. Sadly, there was a very heavy amount of that cornmeal«dust» on the bottom and even the edges of the crust? Yikes… For their menu to claim it’s the«#1 Voted Pizza in Seminole» makes me seriously wonder just who was doing the voting? I know of a dozen places in Pinellas County where one can buy a FAR better pizza for $ 3 less! Forget dining in here! About half of the tables were covered with what seemed to be some sort of envelope-stuffing/ad flyer mailing operation? Two other tables were occupied by obviously bored pizza delivery guys, tapping away at their smart phones like zombies. And most disturbing, the interior was very messy and dirty. A caring manager would have those cell phone zombies busy cleaning! Finally, while it is not MFP’s direct fault, anyone waiting for take-out here should be made aware. While waiting just 15 minutes in my car for my order, I witnessed what appeared to be both drug sales and prostitution activity out front of the convenience store next door! Creepy… So thank you for a ho-hum pizza that did not make me gag or throw up, but I cannot think of one single thing that would make me come back here. I do wish MFP the best of luck…

Very crispy crust and it wasn’t greasy… I can’t wait to try their buffalo chicken pizza, I’ll definitely be back!

I don’t know what has happened here. This used to be a favorite of mine. The pizza took over an hour to get to my house less than 2 miles away. The bottom was burnt so badly it made it virtually inedible. The toppings that weren’t incinerated were as good as I remembered months earlier but not all of them edible. I did not ask for an extra crispy pizza. I can’t believe I spent money on this. We were so hungry from waiting. we just ate the toppings and cheese off the top that we could. Someone needs to let the new owners know that the employees aren’t checking the quality of the food before sending it out.

I just moved to FL and see the store daily so I figured I would give it a try. I called and whoever picked up answered«hello». That’s it. No, «mommas pizza» or anything to show it was a professional business. I told them I would like it delivered but quickly changed my mind because I did not want to give out my card over the phone when they did not answer with a business name. I picked up my calzone 35 minutes later. 11 $ and it was huge! The ricotta cheese was all in one spot. You only got one ingredient per bite but it wasn’t terrible. And how big it was and its price made it decently worth it. I’d consider going back again.

Many changes happened here. Pizza has an awesome sweet sauce. Cheese is even better. No more of my favorite big chunks of sausage though. Chicken wings were a kick ass surprise. Perfectly crispy outside with juicy white interior. I’m a buffalo sauce guy but the garlic parm wings will have to be added on to my orders half of the time. They were that good.

If I could do no stars I would. This place is awful. The food is gross and the people are rude!!! I called and was hung up on the first time. I called back and ordered delivery. They told me it would be under one hour. One hour and 20 min. I tried calling… no one answered. Tried again and was told I would get called back and then hung up on for the second time. My boyfriend called back after ten minutes and finally talked to someone. He said another 10 minutes. So am hour and a half after the first conversation. The delivery guy calls and can’t get it complaining that he has to open the gate. I tell him which building to go to and he goes to the wrong building carrying the food in the rain. We then get the food and it’s cold(no surprise there) and the order is screwed up. Never eat here the food is gross and the people are rude.

New owner new employees new just about everything. They use real tomato sauce, fresh dough. Price is cheap with a whole new menu and the taste is authentic. The older reviews shouldn’t be listed still everything has changed for the better.

I ordered delivery dinner from Mamas Famous Pizza for the first time. I wanted something simple tonight, so I got the spaghetti and meatballs with extra cheese. The entrée came with a small salad and 2 parmesan bread rolls. I have to say, the spaghetti and meatballs were just mediocre; lacking taste. The salad and bread rolls were better than the entrée itself, simply because they had more flavor. The parmesan bread rolls were awesome… Seriously! The delivery driver was very nice, and next time, I will go in to order a pizza and give this place another chance.

EDITDECEMBER2015: After numerous complaints about the new ownership and recipe changing, Mama’s is back to their original recipe and it’s just like the original! I’m happy to say they are back to true form with delicious pizza that stands with the best Tampa Bay has to offer. Note to Mama’s, I am glad you’re back and now you see what can happen when you abandon what put you on the map in the first place. Never change your original recipe that brought you all of your customers, and those customers will stay with you for years to come! Old review: If I were writing this review one year ago, it would be a glowing 5-star review. Unfortunately, it is now a 3-star review, that is being somewhat generous. Mamas used to be some of the best pizza in Pinellas county, hands down! Alas, the staff slowly began leaving and now it is under completely new ownership and management. With such a dramatic change, comes a dramatic change to the product. While the cheese and toppings are still fantastic, the crust and the sauce have certainly taken a turn for the worse. I am not sure where they’re getting their new crust, but it almost tastes like gas station pizza crust! Of course the friendly new staff will claim their new pizza is better, but alas, this isn’t the case. Don’t get me wrong, its not bad! It’s just not nearly as good as it once was. Needless to say, Mamas was a once amazing pizza place that is now slightly above average. R.I.P. Mamas(formerly) Famous Pizza! I will miss the way you used to be.

I love pizza and I can typically find the good in any pizza, but this pizza was pretty gross. My slices were super hot, so it was nice to get slices that weren’t lukewarm. They were also a a nice size and looked very good, But it tasted a step above boxed pizza with ragu. I’ve never ate there so I try not to base my reviews on just one visit, but I don’t think I’ll return. Service was good and the menu has a lot of items that sound very good. I’ll definitely skip the pizza if I return.

So we went to this place on a whim and we were unbelievably disappointed. This was the first time in my life that I got pizza so bad that I couldn’t even finish the slice. When we went in I sat down and overheard the owner or cook say that he was a Master Chef. So I guess one of the 62 master chefs that are currently in the united states is working at a pizza place on Starkey road. I worked for a real master chef in Atlantic City so I knew right when he said this that we were in for a bad meal but I didn’t know how bad. You would think someone who claims to be a master chef would have heard of the ingredients salt and pepper. Not so. All I tasted was the strait from the can acidic tomato sauce. Here is a tip. If you are going to use canned tomato sauce use it as a base and add ingredients to it to make it your own. It had a banner that said under new ownership so maybe the other owners knew how to make a decent pizza hence the good reviews about this place. Do yourself a favor and save your hard earned money and go elsewhere so you don’t have to go home hungry like my family did. Please stop calling yourself a master chef because you sound stupid and stop arguing loudly while customers are trying to palate the slop that you put in front of them.

Oh my. I just used my hard earned money to purchase possibly the worst pizza I have ever had in my life. The location is in a somewhat sketchy area, but I overlooked this because I thought I was going to eat some delicious New York style pizza. Their staff did not look friendly at all, but I overlooked this as well. I’m from New York and I absolutely love pizza. I don’t think I have ever had a slice of pizza that was so bad to the point where I could not bring myself to eat it, until today. Their pizza had the flavor of the pizza you get in a Lunchables box. This pizza looked like it was 3 weeks old. I’m so disappointed because I really wanted to like this place. With all these good reviews, I though I finally found a good pizza spot on this side of town. I’m beginning to wonder if these 5 star reviews are meant for the previous owners.

This is good pizza. Mamas has become our go to place. Large super for pickup. The atmosphere is not great, but we don’t eat in. I don’t think many do. Also not in the best area. The delivery process looks chaotic. I could see how orders would get messed up, but we’ve never used delivery since it’s close by. Prices are reasonable and they make an excellent«super pizza». So take your chances, bring a side arm and order it to go.

Great pizza, great subs, great prices. Wouldn’t eat there as it’s pretty small and the strip that it’s in always has shady kids hanging around, but who really sits down to eat pizza when you can have it delivered?

Absolutely the best pizza I have had in Florida. It’s a thin crust with a sweet red sauce and plenty of toppings! Pizza done right here.
