We used to be avid customers of the chain starting in the early 2000’s but as they changed the menu to a lighter version and all our favorites disappeared. After that we would only make occasional visits when one of our children would ask to go. This last week we visited this location and it was amazing, the portions were good and the favors we had loved were back. The only thing they haven’t brought back was their awesome creamy ice cream and the best hot fudge they used to have on the kids menu we all fought over. Way to go!

I went to the location at the Forum recently to take my pastor and another friend to lunch. The food was fantastic as usual and an amazingly low price for what you get. I think Wataburger is more expensive and here you can get a 3 course meal. Our waitress was fantastic and was constantly checking up on us topping off drinks etc and always had a smile on her face. The feel of the restaurant was very warm and welcoming. Everything was clean and even dusted. I see so many places with a ton of dust. I will most definitely be back again and again.

Good for $ 7 lunch in 7 minutes but overall… meh. Chicken parm on ciatta bread was blah and and dull. Service was good but definitely took longer than 7 minutes.

We decided to check out the restaurant and it was not too bad. Let me take you through our experience… When we arrived and were seated, our server quickly came over and and got our drink order. She returned with that and the bread BUT we had no silverware! They were waiting for some to come out which took about 10 min. or so. We had to use the original knife and fork… our fingers! LOL… sad, sad, sad! Let me tell you, that was the best bread we have had in a long time! Soft, warm, and oh so good! We were there for brunch so I ordered the Chicken Parm Eggs Benedict and my hubby had the Farmhouse Skillet. His skillet was very pretty and delicious! My plate on the other hand was good except for the eggs. These are not poached eggs in the traditional sense at all! When I cut into it expecting it to just ooze out onto my plate I was disappointed! The eggs they sent were cooked(soft boil)! I sent them back and it took over 10 minutes for them to «poach» 2 eggs! For all those who know how a poached eggs is properly done, it does not take over 10 minutes! At this point I was over being upset(b/c the other part of my meal was delicious). My hubby and I sat back and just laughed at how comical it was watching the cooks and servers watch another cook attempt to get the«poached» eggs just right. the reason I keep saying«poached» is b/c these were slightly baked eggs that they cook as a batch and the soft boil for less than a minute to warm up. OR They baked these eggs until the whites are firm. Come on now, my hubby is a chef, some things have rubbed off on me! I won’t go into how a poached egg is cooked b/c you can«YouTube» that, but once you see this egg at Romano’s, you will clearly know the correct method is not executed. With all that being said, it was not a horrible experience. Our server, Kiana continued to come over and let me know the status of the 10 min.+ eggs. So to sum it up… Will we return? Maaaaaaybe(with coupon in tow of course!). Will I order the Eggs Benedict from there again? Absolutely Not! I’ll stick to the pasta and other simple dishes. Oh yeah… The food was reasonably priced. I believe we spent appx. $ 10 per dish.

How is Olive Garden still open with Macaroni Grill as a competitor? Food and service is excellent. No need for a further review… You will fall in love with this place!

Bartender was nice, quick and efficient but when there’s only 4 of you I guess she should be. Bartender spent the majority of her time with the 3 individuals at the bar as did other servers/managers; seems those individuals come here often. And though I get your out of SA city limits who the hell still allows smoking at their restaurant bar?! Not even the bars in this area allow that even though they could. The bartender tends to disappear for extended periods of time but she helped hook it up for happy hour so I guess give some to take some. The food was good. Better than last time. Ordered the chicken scallopine with extra capers… The chicken fantastic, the lemon white wine pasta that came with it was very over cooked. Would have been great if it wasn’t over cooked; the flavor is what saved the pasta. The prices for an Italian restaurant are a little expensive…$ 3.20 to add a Cesar salad to my already $ 15.50 entrée… really? $ 3.20? Is it a full size salad that you get for lunch with chicken on it?!? Needless to say I skipped the salad though it would have been the healthiest thing I had. All in all not bad just wish they would cut out the smoking, lower their prices just a bit(at least their add on salad prices), and cook their pasta a little more al dente

There is a constant lack of consistency at this location. Some days I have an amazing meal and some days they serve an absolutely inedible meal. Service is usually slow and in most cases just acceptable. I usually go here because it is better than Olive Garden.

Did not like this restaurant at all. 1. Bad service 2. Ran out of dough(at an Italian restaurant) 3. Overpriced

I love coming here for pasta. Great food and not too pricey! Worth a $ 21 bill most definitely. I split the choose your own pasta plate with farfalle pasta, Alfredo sauce, roasted tomatos, and chicken…5stars! We got a new York style cheesecake that was 4 stars, kinda dry tbh. Plus we donated $ 2 to their no kid hungry program and received $ 5 off from our next visit. Awesome! I give this experience 4.5 stars because of the awesome service and delicious food but the cheesecake was slacking and did not impress me this time.

Last week we ordered the family chicken parm to go. We got home and it was too spicy to eat. I called and spoke with the manager. Today they made it right and gave us a free family meal. The food is delicious and good customer service always wins!

First time for dinner and it was a great experience. Our waiter Scott was on his a game. Food was hot and fresh and you can tell the cooks care about the product they are serving. My wife and i will definitely be back.

We have eaten here before and the last visit was phenomenal. This visit was a bit off putting. Walked in and the first thing you smell is cigarette smoke.(Strike 1) we sat down in a quiet area, ordered drinks and got our bread. Everything seemed good, then we ordered our meals. Another table comes in to sit, we get salads and then wait. And wait. Salads gone, no contact with server…(Strike 2) the other table gets food 1st!!!(Strike 3) I’m no longer ordering a 2nd round. Finally we get our meal, and they have to take away all the bread plates, salad bowls and empty drinks. Basically their arms were full. Never offered to refill kids drinks. Brought a water canter to avoid having to refill waters. I hate giving a 2 star review because the food is great but service is less than acceptable.

Walked out! What place allows smoking inside(even if only at the bar). I smelled the guy at the opposite end because smoke doesn’t just stay at the bar. Go figure! My grandson and pregnant daughter will not sit in a restaurant that is so backwards as to allow smoking inside.

The first time we went there, I wasn’t impressed. It was okay, but not worth writing a review over. We went again last night, and it was pretty amazing. The wine, Seven Daughters Moscato, was delicious, they had a red-haired man sing a song in Italian to the whole restaurant(I hope he can get a career in singing if he so desires, because he was GOOD), and they had good reason to brag about their pizza dough on the menu. I think it was the best pizza dough I’ve ever had, and it wasn’t even deep dish :) I like my carbs, and this was quality. It even tasted great after I warmed up the leftovers in the toaster oven the next day. I’m not a fan of their rosemary bread though. It was okay, and the olive was good, but maybe I just am too picky about white bread. Salad was good, if a little sparse with the toppings. I didn’t care for their vinaigrette, but I’m not really a vinaigrette person. The ranch dressing was good. They have a $ 9 in 9 minutes supper special and a $ 7 in 7 minutes lunch special that I haven’t tried yet, but some of the items on the lunch menu look good, and I plan on going back to try them. Oh, and I’m a vegetarian if that matters, so there are some good vegetarian things to eat there.

Food was okay. A lot of volume but taste was bland. So, I had to add some spices myself to make the food taste better. Prices were expensive. They got better deals on the weekdays. The waitress was so ready to charge us. The environment was clean.

Normally for a chain I really love this place but this location sucks!!! They have the worst service and we have been waiting almost an hour for our food… they are overwhelmed and under staffed I’m pretty much ready to walk out of here and go to mcds

Upon entering the restaurant we waited and waited to be served. I think that the food is kind of expensive $ 18 -$ 19 for salmon when it it doesn’t include a Salad The waiter was nice the couple of times he came to our table. The hostess surprised everyone in the restaurant by singing an Opera song which was very enjoyable. When I received the bill they did not remove the cost of the sodas which was removed from the table shortly after being seated due to being flat without any fizz. When I pointed it out to the waiter he says I have to have my manager take a look at the bill. He returned flopping the bill on the table and I never seen them again

Eating here was a mistake, and I knew it before even ordering. Good service, but bad food and bad-smelling environment. I really don’t have too much to say about the place, so I’ll sum it up in two major points: 1) I entered and left there previously since the restaurant allows smoking at their bar. Unfortunately, their bar area is not properly ventilated and is not enclosed from the rest of the restaurant, so the smell flows to the other parts of the restaurant.(Seriously, the only reason I went there to eat was because I was with someone who wanted to go there.) 2) The service was fantastic, but the food quality is not great in the least. The dishes with cheese are overloaded with cheese to a point where the food has no flavor, I had undercooked broccolini and overcooked roasted garlic, and the mozzarella fondue was super oily and greasy. …So nope, I’m not going again. And in my honest opinion, given that I know about the fact that the location in northern San Antonio closed some time in the past couple of years, I foresee with my experiences and the other negative reviews currently on this page that this location may not be around for much longer.

Paying money for pasta is why we’re all going to be worshiping Mao and speaking Chinese in a few decades. But anyway. I have a slight bias because the first time I went to this location is inexorably linked with seeing Black Swan, a highly divisive and traumatic event in the history of my marriage. I still contend that it is so horrible that it is a dark comedy. While being a step up from Olive Garden(oh kill me now), this RMG is sloooow on the service. You’re cooking pasta for God’s sake! ANDWECANSEEYOUCOOKINGIT! Then you reheat whatever sauce/topping bags pop out of the freezer! It should be like getting food out of a vending machine! What the hell is the hold up? So come on down and doodle a few tinies of yourself dying while waiting on the butcher paper tablecloth. J is for John who ordered angel hair… etc
