A wonderful little hole-in-the-wall, and I use that term in the best sense where this place is concerned. They do seem to have a small obsession with cows, since they adorn 90% of the walls, but all the other knickknack sand photos of favorite customers make it feel more like your eating at home. Their coffee is the usual drip drop affair that hurt my barista soul, but is actually my only complaint about this joint. I’m no fan of eggs(no for real they disgust me!!!), but the Steves special omelet was Devine. Honestly their home fries were what sold it for me, since they were no mess or fuss just potatoes deliciously fried in oil and seasoned with salt. And to top it all off the staff was nice, pleasant, and even helped me save a few bucks.

This is a nice family restaurant tucked away in Mango Plaza(the strip mall Walmart and Publix). This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and value. I ordered a burger, the Joe’s Belly Buster. I like the fact that they use fresh ground beef and not a frozen patty. The food came out surprisingly fast. The burger was giant, tasty, and cooked perfectly. The bun and all the toppings were fresh and delicious. He came with a side of fries and slaw. The fries were good, but I didn’t care for the taste of the slaw. The service was great! Our server was quick and friendly, and never disappeared. The atmosphere is a cross between and old diner, and a Cracker Barrel(minus the gift shop). There’s enough decorations on the walls to keep your eyes busy for days. The dining area was clean, and the value for my experience was really good. I definitely want to go back and try some more things off the menu.

Not a bad little hole in the wall. My friends and I came from out of town and found this joint. When we walked in you could tell this was a local place with lots of regulars. The reason I say that is the music literally stopped and everyone stared at us for just a split second. The staff was friendly and attentive. They knew we weren’t from around these parts :). The couple I was with was a little sketched out at the place but they are really picky. I thought this was part of an adventure! At first they wanted to leave because they weren’t use to the way this place was decorated. Think grandmas house that loves to decorate for the holidays. I on the other hand had to see how the food was. The place was packed! And even though the start of our experience felt like the beginning of any old school scary movie, we were pleasantly surprised by the food and the friendliness of the staff. I had the Cuban sandwich. This tasted good but it wasn’t authentic. I figured it wouldn’t be. They have gyros and catfish on he menu so they dabbled into it all. My wife had the gyro. She enjoyed it, that’s what matters, but I didn’t care for it. My buddy had a simple grilled cheese he loved and his wife had tatter tots. Again they were sketched out at the place and picked items they felt safe with. They missed out. We got out alive and would go back again!

Reminds me of a diner from up north. Food was good and fast. Better than a franchise, great service and pretty cheap.

I visit this place often a few times a month to get a hot breakfast as it is on my way to work. I always call ahead to place my order and it is always ready when I get there. The ladies are always polite and cheerful. I was a little skeptical when a coworker recommended it but needless to say I’ve been going here for the past four years now. On weekends when I don’t feel like cooking a big breakfast for the family, we all pile in the car and drive over. The food is good and there is plenty for the price. I have only had breakfast here so I am not sure about the lunch menu. Recently, I was having ten guests stay with me from out of town. I didn’t want to have to get up early to make a big breakfast for everyone so I called the restaurant to see if the could put together a small catered breakfast meal for me and they were very accommodating. Again, breakfast was ready when I arrived, stored in easy to carry containers with all of the condiments and plastic ware included. It was reasonably priced and everyone was able to eat and get full.

Stopped in for breakfast since small family run places like this usually have the best. I guess that this place stays afloat on the fact that there are suprising few dinners for a fairly heavy traffic road. To my disappointment the food was extremly bland and flavorless and reminded me of the hospital food from a past career. Inside is countryish, but décor is really a side show since I’m there to eat. Seemed fairly clean from my table though.

Ventured to this place for lunch at the suggestion of a customer. It was a local place and he picked it, so I had no say. It’s exactly what you’d expect if you judged the book by its cover: a dive. The service at lunch: in one word, spotty. Drinks are served in cans(and you pay per can, which they don’t tell you), and I sat with an empty glass for half of my meal. Food: it’s pretty basic and pretty mediocre. I ordered the broiled chicken sandwich and a side salad. I’m guessing they thought it was necessary to kill the chicken during cooking because it was so dry that it was borderline inedible. I had to cover it in mustard because I had no drink to use to wash it down. I wouldn’t think twice about spending my own money in the place. I’m sure it has a local following, but with bad service and borderline inedible food, I’m out.

I’m a big fan of little family owned dives. However there wasn’t anything on the menu that I couldn’t make at home. I will say that the staff is friendly and it’s low cost, however I don’t like going out to eat and listening to the staff gossip. I especially didn’t like that fact that I was sitting at a table next to a half wall(behind it was where the did prepping and what not) and one of the servers was standing there with her food on the ledge eating right over me.

Well this is a hidden place to eat in the Wal-mart-Publix Plaza on the corner of MLK and the Mango Rd, in the back corner, where u see the chairs and a bunch of old men talking about how to solve the worlds problems in the morning hours. The place is run by Patti Plummer and brother Bo, and her sister Paula and daughter Lisa do some of the waitress work in the place! Mom and Pa ran a restaurant years ago, so this is a 2nd generation operation, but not at the orginal location. it seats about 120 people, clean, just tables and chairs, no booths here! the menu is home style cooking, meat and potato’s type of food, most meal are under $ 10 and it a place to bring the family! the specials of the day, include a choice of 3 extras, usually fresh veggies, homemade soup, or some type of salad, and the specials include tea or coffee, around $ 8.50 out the door! they open early, 6am or sooner and they do a good breakfast and lunch trade, and are also open for supper! its not high class, but its good eat’in and the locals love it. you can talk to people here, people u never met before in ur life, and they will talk to you as if they have known you all of there life! need something, the waitress will get it for you, she is around, and doesn’t bother you but keeps an eye on you and asks now n then«hows everything». I have ate there for over 25 yrs and i have never had a bad meal or got sick from there! and im a big eater! and a big tea drinker too! Joe makes the soups, and they are really something special, he does a great job, been there forever! brittany is busy and piles it on the plates too! and the crowd out front, have a seat, and join in the conversation, they will all introduce themselfs to u and listen to what two cents you have to throw in !! There arent’ many places left like this in America anymore! Patti has a few really nice tomatoes at the counter for you to take home, or some candy for the kids to pick from, stop in, sit down, relax, and have a good meal !! i’ve had many of them there! it’s a family restaurant, no beer or wine served here!
