My boyfriend and I were staying at a near by hotel when we decided to get Chinese food, so we picked this place. We ordered online and from the time We placed the order and it being delivered was less than 45 minutes. We are both very happy that we did the portions are worth the price, the food was absolutely delicious and the delivery guy was awesome. We forgot to ask for plates so the delivery man went back to the restaurant and got us plates and plasticware and brought it back to we within 5 – 10 minutes. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDEDTRYINGTHISPLACE. MYBOYFRIENDAND I DEFINITELYWILLEATHEREAGAIN.

Hello, our Chinese go to near us. Great delivery time, good clean food!!! Been coming here for many years, at one point my son worked in the kitchen as a youth.

For a very inconsistent food, and average American Chinese option, try this mediocre offering. Honestly, I work within delivery distance and have heard raves about in restaurant family dining which is far superior to others in the East Providence market. I found no awe inspiring experiences from the 8 times I ordered. If businesses are used to making and serving less that fresh food… they may have a few good days, but its basically a very disappointing option for people who identify with loving good, fresh, and willing to pay for consistent fresh offerings. Tai Pei is absolutely not it. If you are accustomed to eating at this level of dining, then ignore my reviews! I have ordered General Gaus.(super sweet, not spicy) which tasted like they opened Joyce Chen bottle. Yang Chao fried rice was sometimes white and sometimes brown! The veg and meat in the house fried rice was terrible quality. Odds and ends that should have been thrown away(fat) and carrot ends and spoiled vegetables. I am also not a fan of sauce(not authentic), but if its there, it should enhance not detract and taste bad. Food at this fine establishment should be relegated to those who like fall river chow mein, a tasteless concoction which is not close to anything I would touch. Lastly, anyone who thinks green peppers are acceptable in large quantities in any dish also meets my do not eat ever again list. So, if you are stuck at work in East Providence and can not cross the bridge to Yan’s then say your prayers. God can only protect your gut after eating here. I will admit, people eating in person here may have an absolutely fantastic experience, but takeout is a resounding no!

Where do I begin?! I have driven past this restaurant for years and always wanted to venture in. I looked at the reviews and they seemed good, so I thought I’d give it a try. We went on a Friday night, 6:00 p.m. Upon entrance I noticed the place was in need of cleaning and renovations… but I was still willing to give it a try. I noticed peeling drabby wallpaper near the entrance, inside I could see blue booths and tables. I asked fir a booth and was seated at the booth that had the stitching undone with all the filling exposed. I sat facing the wall. I noticed my table was sticky, which grossed me out, but still decided to give it a chance. Above my boyfriends head the wallpaper was peeling, the table light had what looked like duck sauce or sweet & sour sauce(old) on it. The ceiling lights were beautiful and it had a nice wood beam ceiling. I thought, nice, then I noticed the dead bugs in the globes of the lights-not good. The menu was large and had decent prices. I ordered the boneless chicken and gravy with fried rice and egg roll, my boyfriend, sweet & sour chicken. He had a suffering«B» drink, me a Heineken, we also had an iced tea and a diet coke. The waitress was VERY friendly and helpful with drink suggestions. When the meal was brought to us, I thought I would die. The chicken was in an odd batter, very very greasy, it had no resemblance of chicken. My boyfriends sweet & sour chicken had the same batter and was in the shape of a large ball, very very greasy. I took my knife and cut into the chicken, discarded all the batter and ate the chicken, that was fine. The fried rice was ok, but was really just rice, no vegetables, or anything else. The egg roll was one of the worse I have had. I will not return due to the sights and tastes I had here. The best thing was the waitress, she was sweet and helpful. I do not understand the good reviews. Possibly if you get take out and don’t see the conditions of the restaurant, but the food we had was not worth returning either. Our bill came to $ 33.58.

We just ordered take out from Tai Pan and it was sensational!!! If I could give them 10 stars I would. The meats were tender and cooked perfectly and the sauces were flavorful and seasoned perfectly. I ordered a small chop suey and after eating the contents of the box, I almost drank the sauce. We also ordered the chicken fingers which were crispy and juicy. I wouldn’t hesitate to order again. Their egg rolls and teriyaki beef are sooooo good! Delivery was extremely quick and everything was hot.

We get take out delivered for lunch from Tai Pan almost once a week! The menu is great because they have so many combo options. The lunch combos are a smaller portion than the regular combo as far as rice goes but that seems plenty for me. I usually get the chicken finger combo with pork fried or chicken fried(adds $ 1.00) rice, egg roll and a cup of sweet n sour sauce on the side. They sell the sweet n sour chicken combo but the chicken comes in a ball form — like a square hunk of chicken rolled in lots of breading and then fried. I find them hard to eat at my desk so I opt for the traditional chicken fingers which are crispy and perfect for dipping! My coworkers often enjoy: beef chow mein, vegetable chow mein, Peking ravioli, crab ragoon etc. The delivery is always there even quicker than they say and the drivers always pleasant. I’ve never eaten in the restaurant but consider Tai Pan a staple in the lunch rotation!

I have ordered from here a few times just to give them a chance… there food is by far the worst chinese food! Im sorry but the fried rice is mushy every time and there chicken is hard as a rock its like they cook everything the day before and just barely warm it up before they deliver it. Wont order from there ever again. Sorry but everytime ive tried food from here im extremely disappointed I will stick to Red Basil there food is amazing.

When I think of tai pan, I think of godfather chicken. They serve a dish similar to general tso’s chicken on a bed of deep fried broccoli in a light batter. It’s usually bright red and spicy. For the family I have them dial it back a bit. Full power, it will leave your rear end in tatters! You can order just the broccoli off the appetizer menu too! also recommend hon su gai. They put chicken fingers over vegetables in a brown sauce. It’s like moo goo gai pan but the chicken Is battered. Easily enough for two people. When I order chow mein, lo mein, fried rice I ask for«sub gum» dishes. They have more vegetables. Something with a little gravy is nice with the soft floury rolls they give you. My family likes the change sometimes and I take home food maybe once every other month. It’s a simple place and could use a renovation. Don’t expect the taj ma hall. Round tables, vinyl booths, red carpet floors and such as is typical in 90 percent of the Chinese restaurants out there. They have a little bar, so you can get all your umbrella drinks, or maybe a cold beer. There are a few tables in the little bar, and usually the waitstaff is hanging in there. It’s not going to impress anyone on date night but the food, especially the godfather chicken is worth the trip.

Good food and they deliver locally! Tai Pan is a good Chinese restaurant with some really delicious items. I think they have the best fried rice around. I also enjoy their General Taos Tofu and their Wing sauce is usually amazing and I put it on everything. Some items are a miss though, I don’t really dig their chow mein. I will say their delivery is amazing. Super fast, hot, and always correct. I use to order and it makes things very easy. I’d give 4 stars for their delivery. They are priced very reasonably. You can definitely get 2 – 3 meals out of each meal. Even their lunch portions are a great value. Today I had their boneless spareribs combo with fried rice and crab Rangoon for $ 5.95! If you live close and don’t want to go out or cook, I highly recommend Tai Pan!

What a great chinese restaurant. The service was great and the food came out lightning fast. Between us we had beef and brocolli, sesame chicken, chicken lo mein, crab rangoon, pork fried rice and fried dumplings. Every single item was excellent. The food quality was impressive, this isn’t your average chinese restaurant. Best fried dumplings I have ever had. The only reason I give this place 4 stars is because from the look of the building you’d think this place is shut down. They could use some landscaping out front or at the very least an «open» flag on the front of the building.

Pleasantly surprised not only by the speed of delivery but the food, the crab rangoons were especially yummy, but so were the moist, stick honey boneless ribs and beef teriyaki. I also got the pan fried noodles which I thought was like lo mein but is actually white, doughey noodles. My bad on that one. Ordered on Foodler(only $ 2 to deliver) and they got to East Providence in lightning speed. So fast that I almost didn’t answer the door(we get a lot of solicitors around here). It’s nothing gourmet but it’s definitely above average for Chinese takeout /delivery.

We tried this place as the other reviews were good and it didn’t disappoint. Very friendly waitstaff and hostess gave my daughter a free Chinese toy snake. Food were perfect portions, had luncheon chicken fingers which came with 6 pieces, egg roll that was filled with a variety of vegetables, not like other places that fill their egg rolls with bean sprouts. Wife had some tasty beef and broccoli and we also had a small chicken and rice soup for our daughter. Will try again the next time we’re down here.

Food here is just okay. It’s better than some other local chinese food restaurants I’ve tried, but nothing spectacular. Cathay Garden in East Greenwich still tops my list.

Tai Pan won’t win any awards for the best chinese food in the area, but the food is decent and the owners are friendly. Their combination plates are nice as you can choose between pork fried rice or chow mein, and an egg roll or crab rangoon. Just stay away from the sweet and sour pork combination plate as the pork nuggets can be a bit tough. Everything else is pretty solid.

First time visiting… must say pleasantly surprised, I’m pretty picky about my chinese food, and I felt it’s A-OK according to 3 stars and we’ll go back to try something else. Had the sticky wings, which were REALLY sticky and good. Then we split a dish from chef specialties… had pork, chicken, beef and shrimp in it over pan fried noodles, it was very good, fresh and plenty of veggies, enough meat for two, all meat was cooked well, sauce was delicate in taste, not heavy or hot. Def want to go back and try a combo, and there were plenty of choices. The waitress was super pleasant and didn’t rush us(a pet peeve of many Chinese restaurants), perhaps because we went during the«sweet spot» hour between lunch and dinner and the place was not packed. There were 2 or 3 other tables. Go and try it, maybe the other reviewer went on a bad day.
