My new favorite Thai restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious. We have tried nearly everything on the menu, and it is always fantastic.

We tried this place based on reviews on Unilocal. We did take out and tried the steamed dumplings, spring rolls, ginger chicken and beef lad na. Very disappointed in the favors. Ginger chicken was good, but didn’t expect it to be spicy(usually not spicy at my other favorite Thai) lad na had a very strange flavor. And was very watery, steamed dumplings had no flavor and were not appetizing at all… Gave it a try… Will not go back

Excellent little out of the way place. After a couple of tries, we decided it was better than the other local place, «Tong D», and have been here maybe 20 times. I had to decide between a 4 and 5 star, based mostly on food with a strong head tilt to both the high level of service and the fact that it deserves more traffic than it seems to get in this obscure location. The reasonable prices don’t hurt. Try the Pad Kee Mow(drunken noodle), the tamarind duck, the pineapple fried rice(pork), the basil fried rice(sim to pad kee mow), and the golden bags. The hot thai tea is becoming an addiction.

Hands down the best Thai food I have ever had. The food is consistently great, and have the most excellent flavors. If they had put there menu on Unilocal it would be even better.

Great little hidden gem. The pataya noodle soup is amazing and a perfect thing on a cold day. It’s huge too, often making two meals for me. Also the staff will re split up the soup so you don’t have soggy noodles for left overs. Other favorites include the drunken noodles, tamarind duck, pineapple fried rice and the hot Thai tea. I wasn’t overly wowed with my old stand bys of Pad Thai, Tom ka soup and Masaman curry but their other dishes more than make up for it and keep me coming back.

I’ve been to an extensive amount of Thai food restaurants all over the eastern seaboard and by far, this one is the worst. I ordered a tom kha kai soup with chicken at a spicy level of 4 stars. The soup was the most watery tom kha kai I ever eaten in my life! Seriously, where the hell is the coconut milk? Also, this soup was more spicy than the 4 star I ordered. This soup was more like 10 stars. I also ordered a chicken panang 4 star. I can’t believe I paid for this food! Absolutely horrific. The panang didn’t even taste like panang. It lacked the spices needed to make it a real panang, plus it had barely any curry far less, coconut milk. Did I mention it was extremely salty??? On a more positive note, their spring rolls were basic but had a pleasant taste. However, the amount of spring rolls wasn’t worth the price it was selling for. All and all, I will NOT be returning to this restaurant ever again. It was a waste of time and hard earned money, unless you have money to spend and don’t really care for authentic Thai cuisine. Never again, no way José!!!

Pattaya is a hidden gem in Riverside. Located in the Shaw’s market plaza just off of Willet Ave, my husband and I noticed it when we stopped by to do some grocery shopping on a chilly Saturday night. The place is thoughtfully decorated with Thai arts and crafts, with a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. The friendly staff took our order: Tom Yum soup, spicy Papaya Salad, chicken Pad Krapow and chicken & tofu & shrimp Pad Thai. All of the dishes were DELICIOUS! At the end of our dinner, the owners’ daughter Diane(who we later learned had cooked our food) came out to greet us. The owners are Thai who cook AUTHENTIC Thai food, and we can’t be happier with this newly found gem!

This local Thai adventure is a small, clean and well run restaurant on the south/east side of Riverside. We love their duck, nime chow, curry and pineapple fried rice. They also have some great soups. Always a consistent go-to when the mood strikes. Great for takeout or dine in.

We ordered thai tea, spring rolls, vegetable dumplings, pad thai, and vegetable fresh rolls. We go for thai quite often… this was not good. Pad thai tasted off, like it was tainted with other food flavors, vegetable dumplings came out as chicken, soggy and mush. Spring rolls came out as scallion pancakes(good but not what we ordered). Vegetable fresh rolls I wouldn’t order ever again. Bright side, thai tea was good and they took the pancakes off our bill. We won’t ever return.

This place rules. I’ve only had take out from here so I can’t speak to the waitstaff. Every time I’ve called they are super friendly and the food is ready quickly. Dishes I’ve enjoyed: pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, red curry chicken. All veggies are super fresh. Can’t wait to explore more of the menu!

I’m upgrading Pattaya to five stars since they’ve been consistently good each time I’ve visited over the last few years. The service is always great and still just the one woman. Can we get Unilocal to sponsor an award for her?! Nice, attentive, efficient, genuine. Seriously, she’s just the best. The food is always good and I love, love, love that everything is freshly cooked so you can customize to your heart’s content. The Fresh Rolls which are their version of Nime Chow are a must order. The perfect light and fresh way to start your meal. My husband is an omnivore and I stick with the seafood and veggie only and between the two of us, there really isn’t a single dish we haven’t liked. Sure, the décor is a bit wacky but at this point, I know I’d be sad if I walked in one day and those infamous blue glitter vinyl chairs were gone. Overall, the food is really good and even though the location isn’t the best, it’s so convenient for the Barrington/Riverside area and I’d even say it’s worth the drive if you’re not from the area.

Pattaya sits at the end of a lonely little strip mall, with a lovely view of the parking lot. It’s windows lit with Christmas lights. Now famous for it’s blue carpet and blue vinyl chairs. The Shaw’s trucks and RIPTA buses rolling past… Not fancy, but the people are nice and the food is good. This is authentic Thai food cooked by people from Thailand(and Laos)! Sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy! Lemongrass, lime leaves, Thai basil, tamarind, chilies, fish sauce, curry, sizzling platters, noodles, lots of vegetables. Soup with a lime wedge, and sweet creamy iced tea. My favorite Thai dish is Penang curry. It has a lot of curry flavor, lemongrass, and plenty of red chilies! To me, it also tastes like peanut butter, which it does not contain. My second is Pad See Ew. Wide noodles, broccoli, carrots, onions, mushrooms, and the meat of your choice. I ask them to burn it a little because I like the smokey wok flavor. I’ve become a fan of the hot basil fried rice. It’s got a lot of flavor. Due to my rising blood sugar, I’m eating brown rice, which I don’t like, but tastes good in this dish. Pattaya noodle soup, their version of phở is nice. It has phở noodles, sliced beef and meatballs. I find the broth is strong and salty, and ask for it a little milder. It is not a phở broth. To me it’s more like a sauce for the noodles. I have also had their lemongrass chicken, which is very light and healthy. Prik King with lots of lime leaves also has that light, refreshing taste. Larb gai, or ground chicken salad. 4 bird chilies, fish sauce, and lime juice. To be eaten with sticky rice. The hottest thing I’ve had at Pattaya! J Rolls, their«spring roll» are nice and I love fried ice cream. They roll ice cream in bread crumbs and deep fry it. It tastes like a cookie. Add strawberry and chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Mmmmm. The restaurant is run by some of the nicest people. The food is tasty. Portions are big, and prices are very reasonable. It’s out of the way, but worth the trip. I would recommend that folks give it a try.

I have returned several times to Pattaya and have felt the need to upgrade my rating. Each time, I have had the Tom Yum Soup with chicken and it has been better and better. During my last visit, I ordered the Prik King with tilapia and I thought it was outstanding and easily one of the best Thai dishes I have had anywhere. It will be difficult to order something else on future return visits. Pattaya is becoming an easy choice for Thai food in the area for us and a good place for us to dine when we are having a difficult time deciding where to go. We will be back again for sure.

I grew up in Riverside, so I am familiar with this sad little strip mall where the new Pattaya thai restaurant now sits. I am so glad I finally tried it this past weekend! First I think I need to give some credit where credit is due — that waitress can hustle! Though it may look super slow if you walk in to sit down to eat, Pattaya seems like it does a lot of its business in take out orders, and she never missed a beat. On that snowy night we were one of three tables, which seemed full compared to the former thai place. The décor hadn’t changed too much. I almost thought it hadn’t changed owners just ‘rebranded’, but as we sat I noticed subtle changes like the flowers on the table(but yes, the 70s chairs are there, and perhaps they should stay now? Maybe it wouldn’t be the same without them!). Anyhow. Things started off rocky when one beer came out bad — as soon as it was poured you could smell the sourness. The beer was quickly replaced, and I worried a bit about the food. but my worries faded as soon as I tasted those dumplings. Appetizers were fantastic — steamed dumplings made into these cute little baskets and crispy scallion pancakes. For meals my husband had the massaman curry and I had some spicy something. Beware if it says spicy they actually mean spicy. I think this is a good thing. I hope they do well here.

As long time Riverside residents, we order from Pattaya(formerly Siam Square) regularly. We love the panang and red curry dishes. The shrimp and duck are our favorites. They always have brown rice which we also appreciate. We have never actually eaten in but when we pick up they are always very sweet and nice and we are never disappointed with our meal. And to Jaclyn P, we always leave a little tip for our take out. It’s almost as good as Tung D in Barrington and way closer to us!

We tried their tomyum soup, pad kee mow, lemon grass beef and chicken, and their ground chicken with rice. Pad kee mow and tomyum are good, but the other ones are so so. The service was good

Add another one to the column of «I only found this gem because of Unilocal». If it wasn’t for the app and the fact that the restaurant was rated so highly for the Riverside area that I was staying in for the night, I would have never found the place. Tucked away in the corner of a rather sad and dying strip mall(the Brooks Pharmacy and video rental store nearby are long gone), is a quiet and wonderful little Thai restaurant that more locals should be checking out. We were there on a stormy weeknight at dinnertime and unfortunately the only customers for about 15 minutes before another group walked in. I worry that their location could be hurting them as it isn’t the easiest to find or even see from the main drag out front. Also, their sign ONLY says«Pattaya», I’d recommend adding«Thai Cusine» to it as well since few people are going to know this is an actual restaurant without walking up and peering in. Anyway, our waitress greeted us promptly and let us sit wherever we felt the most comfortable. She was quick to put in our appetizer order and also offered up a decent sized drink menu which were priced extremely reasonable, I had a Sam Adams for just $ 3.25 to go with my meal. To start, the fresh spring rolls had the perfect amount of fresh filling and the clear wrappings were not dried out. I was a little disappointed at the consistency of the dipping sauce as other thai restaurants had a peanut butter consistency but this was very thin. It was meant to be this way with peanuts floating in it, instead, but I was not expecting this so it made it the least enjoyable aspect of my dinner. I LOVED by pad see mow as this was the first time I had ever tried the dish. Perfectly chopped chicken and rice noodles filled the dish to the brim and it had the perfect amount of spice, I was sweating by the end of my meal. It was loaded with bamboo shoots, carrots and peppers while the flavors balanced out just right between all of the ingredients. My partner had the bangkok beef which said«didn’t blow him away». I gave it a quick taste and it was adequate. The presentation was the best as it came to the table like a flaming Mexican fajita in the cast iron pan. Five stars because in comparison to the other dining options around this area, it’s easily in the top 10%. Not the top 10% of thai restaurants I’ve ever been in but this place is solid enough, like 4 ½ stars rounded up to a full 5 because of service, ease of parking, cleanliness and value.

We were in the mood for Thai food and after seeing all the glowing reviews for Pattaya thought we’d give it a try. The décor hasn’t really changed much from the previous owners. The blue glittery chairs make me laugh. We had the same chairs around our dining room table growing up in the 70’s, except they were that awful 70’s puke green. Service was super quick, efficient and friendly. No complaints there. We started with the crispy zesty shrimp and my husband also had Tom Yum soup. The shrimp were ok, but I certainly didn’t find them to be zesty at all. For my entrée I ordered the Four Buddies — chicken, shrimp, pork and beef in a slightly spicy sauce with vegetables. I would have preferred it to be a bit spicier and a bit more flavorful. My husband ordered the salmon with hot basil. I had a taste of his sauce and it was really good, way better than mine. I would return, but would probably order something else.

Finally, an authentic thai restaurant with an amazing, flawless, extremely flavorful menu. I fell in love with the pad kee mow noodles and asked for it extra spicy and extra thai basil. May I scream, WOW! Even though it was spicy, I was still able to taste the abundance of flavors the dish with held. This small restaurant sure does have a lot to offer. I am so excited there’s a thai restaurant I actually love! I am in such awe with the turn out and I want to wish the owner continued success. It truly is the best thai food I’ve had within RI and the dessert menu is just amazing. Everything they offer is unique and separates them from other thai establishments. If you want really amazing, like you’re in Thailand streets, you have to give this place a shot. You will not be disappointed. There’s a full bar and the staff are all helpful and welcoming. Cheers! Sa wad dee kah! :)
