The mozzarella is really good and the other reviews aren’t lying. If you get a sandwich, make sure to get the crispier bread because it it much better than the softer one. I recommend either grilled chicken with mozz and balsamic vinegar with roasted peppers. Bön appetit!

I came again and tried the buffalo turkey sandwich and this time it wasnt anything special. There was hardly any buffalo flavor. I guess if you come here get the chicken cutlet sandwich with fresh mozz and dont divulge from that

The best homemade mozzarella ever. It’s still warm when you buy it. Love it. Everything’s great there. Try it out.

It can’t be overstated how good this mozzarella is. When I make my annual trek up to the convention center, I always stop in for a sandwich, and this year it was chicken cutlet, roasted peppers and mozzarella on a roll with balsalmic. I’m seriously salivating just thinking about it. Go, be prepared to wait a few mins in a line with some folks, and be prepared to eat the whole thing whether you’re actually THAT hungry or not.

Giovanni’s has been on my list to try for a couple of years, but I just never make it out to Secaucus much. Some recent holiday shopping has put an end to this oversight. I ordered a half sized mozzarella sandwich with artichokes and peppers. The mozzarella was very good, as was the bread which was on the soft size with seeds. The sandwich was huge and could have fed 2 people. Truth be told, I like my town’s Italian deli’s sandwiches more, but these sandwiches are also fantastic. Customer service was very friendly. Aside from the mozzarella, what makes Giovanni’s stand out for me is: — daily special hot sandwich options. — three sandwich sizes: full, half, and half of a half. — they are open on Sunday!!! — really accommodating attitude from the staff taking orders and making the sandwiches.

I grew up in Brooklyn will we had the best Italian delis in the world so I know my delis very well. Giovanni’s Italian deli in Secaucus is the best deli in New Jersey. period! My son’s favorite chicken cutlet prosciutto balsamic vinegar Charlie’s Peppers and my daughter’s favorite eggplant on a mescline salad make my kids very happy. And what makes me happy is Charlie’s delicious Italian meatballs which would make my Sicilian mom proud because she made the best. Thank you Charlie for being the best deli in New Jersey and we are so happy to have you. Charlie’s staff is 5 stars and they make you feel like family every time you come in. They are the best Mangia!!!

Bomb. Helpful friendly people — DELICIOUS sandwich. Fried chicken cutlets, SUPER fresh mozzarella and the mild peppers had so much flavor, a drizzle of balsamic. Mmmmm. It was perfect. I am from the west coast… hopefully I have to come back for business soon!

EATHERE. Seriously, after one sample of mozzarella, you’ll be in heaven. So I had to have a sandwich with some mozzarella and opted for the roast beef with red peppers. The sandwiches are seriously huge. I could only get through half. For next time, I think I’ll split a sandwich or have one for lunch the next day is still a good option. Now it gets pretty busy at lunch time. I do wish the menu board had the sandwich information instead of just the deli meat and cheese by the pound information. They have that info on a to go handout though. There are about 3 tables inside and 2 outside, so you may or may not get seating if you want it, and the tables have those holes in it so be careful if you have a big messy sandwich. Still, a delicious and quick meal, definitely recommend!

Love this place so much! The Chicken Cutlet sandwich is Amazing! However, when ordering to pick up double check it, they forgot my balsamic which totally makes the sandwich! :(but the side of sautéed spinach was truly a nice addition!

Oh my! A must if you are in this area!!! Such a cool family run deli! The subs were so huge, we ate half for lunch and had the other half for dinner! We asked the older woman behind the counter to make a sun that she would eat and exactly how she would eat it! She made us an Italian sub with balsamic vinegar and huge slabs of fresh mozzarella! Seriously AMAZING! It is great to see how harmoniously they work together in such a small working area too! Definitely, getting a piece of the local flair and authentic italian food! The meatball sub was just as amazing! Fresh soups, subs and italian specialties here! A must to hit! Another Home run from Unilocal on our weeklong road trip!

I’m born and raised in Secaucus and I first came across Gio’s back when I was in Middle School. And to this day I can’t visit my family in NJ without swinging by. This place was also the first place I experienced eating fresh mozz with dark balsamic vinegar and sliced tomato. What I’m trying to say is… I have a lot of history with Gio’s. When I visit I always get the same sandwich; bologna, dark balsamic vinegar, sliced tomatoes, fresh mozz, and a little olive oil. And over 10 years later the mozz is just as fresh as ever and the service is just as friendly. Though the prices has gone up since I was a kid, the portion sizes are still VERY generous. I’ve yet to really try anything else on their menu but honestly all I ever want is their cold sandwiches. Always fresh and always delicious!

Decent little lunch spot in the area! Husband and I split the chicken parm and potato salad. The mozzarella cheese was really good and lived up to the expectations set by other Unilocal reviews. Potato salad was good nothing extraordinary. The service was good but the place wasn’t crowded at the time . Will return for generous well priced portions !

Awesome sandwiches, great mutz, questionable customer service. Taking out here was always a little tricky — there’s a certain degree of anticipation and excitement for the impressive deli grub, but there’s also a sure need to maintain a safe level of ambivalence in order to keep up with the unfriendly(but not hostile) staff. I say«not hostile» because it’s an Italian deli in North Jersey, so one should always be prepared for a cold staff… I remember calling here one time on a minor holiday this past spring to confirm they were open — in response, I got a «yeah open ’til ___» followed by a sharp click. Now, trust me, I don’t call delis asking if they’re open in order to proceed towards a more free-flowing, intimate conversation, but that response was still rather off-putting. Maybe it was a bit presumptuous of me to think that Giovanni’s would be joining me in taking the day off on March 21st, or National Common Courtesy Day(real thing), which I now know is not observed everywhere.

I’m from Nashville and even though we have GREAT restaurant choices, Jersey Mikes for an Italian sub is about it. Although that’s a pretty good sand — you’ve got to visit Giovanni’s in Secaucus New Jersey. The homemade mozzarella in the fresh Italian roast beef sandwich was AWESOME. My buddy had the Italian sandwich which was incredible too. Oh and the roasted red peppers on the roast beef sandwich. I think you know how I feel. Go there.
