Been twice. We liked it both times and will go back.

I love Slice of Life. We are vegetarian and this restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat. The staff is always wonderful — smiling and positive!!! The food is excellent and there are vegan, gluten free options too. This is one of my two favorite stops for large delicious salads. The prices are really reasonable. Give this place a try if you are in town. Just one suggestion for the owners — if you are reading this –The place needs an overall deep clean. The bathrooms are really bad and the kitchen needs cleaning too. Clean the place and you will be perfect!!!

WOW! So good! The employees were so kind and the food was delicious. I had the avocado toast, tomato and rice soup and a green juice. All were great! It’s so wonderful to have restaurant options offering real food and good nutritional ingredients. It was so good we went back the next day but it was closed. I can’t wait to go back again and share this amazing place with more friends!

Always amazing! I love the vegan pizza with swirl sauce(half red/half pesto) with tofu ricotta, black olives and vegan pepperoni! Always a favorite when I am in Sebastopol!

I wish this place was closer to where we live *cry* — it’s so good! I was skeptical about eating there, as from the outside it kind of seemed cold and uninviting, and there was no menu posted in the window, but we took a chance, and I’m glad that we did. I had the tempeh reuben, with fries instead of chips, and the cashew queso appetizer. Both were excellent, and reminded me of what vegan/vegetarian restaurants used to be – healthy, or clean(?) tasting, with protein not derived from over-processed soy or wheat/mock meat(which can both be good at times, but it’s nice to have alternatives). Anyway, when/if I’m ever near Sebastopol again, I’m timing it to coincide with lunch at this place, for sure, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area :)

I live in Napa and make it to Sebastopol every couple of months. But I haven’t had the opportunity to come back to Slice of Life until today. My first visit was amazing and I’m so glad I finally made the time to come back in. It started out a very rainy day so many of the folks that would have been hanging out at the Farmer’s Market seemed to all be in the restaurant! Okay, maybe not all of them but it was really busy! As a local vegan blogger, I had been invited to the new Whole Body store to cover one of their special events. Since I was working, I drove up to Sebastopol by myself. When I came in there were no tables but by the time I had returned from the Ladies’ Room, my table was ready. They got my water and menus right away though it took a bit longer for them to take my order. Again, I think everyone working was surprised by how busy it was! There are no places in Napa to have a vegan breakfast(besides oatmeal & smoothies) so though the menu has so many delicious sounding options, I had to go for the brunch! I had already had a delicious vegan coconut milk chai at the Farmer’s Market so all I needed was water, eggless french toast and fakin bacon. My food came really fast which was a pleasant surprise. Upon my first bite, I realized that this was the best french toast I have EVER had! Ever! The entire meal was incredible. I also sat near a couple who were just lovely — Barbara & Russ. Barbara has been vegan for 25 years so we had lots to talk about! I will absolutely be back again and next time not wait so long!

I’m not sure why I haven’t written a review earlier for Slice of Life. This place is amazing. The food is so delicious. And being vegan, it’s so wonderful to have a place where there are SO many choices! All the people working here are great, but my favorites are Greg and Eyelet. Lasagna, Avofresco, Mock Meatballs, and all their soups, are my favorites. The occasional special, Mushroom stroganoff is out of this world. I wish it were on the regular menu. I can’t say enough good about this place. A+

Fantastic food — all vegetarian and whole bunch of vegan/whole grain/gluten free options. The quinoa soup was great, my fav was the rice/beans/veggie burrito. They also have a great selection of wines and beer — after a couple of winery visits I was barreled out to try any of their wines. The service was great, lot of locals eating is always a great sign. Next time I am in that area will make a point to visit the slice of life. There is a whole foods near by so — do your groceries and grab a bite to eat at the slice of life. Total gem.

Delectably delicious restaurant in lovely Sebastopol. Great for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free options, too. The menu is huge with tons of choices, even all day breakfast if that floats your both. We had some delicious sweet potato fries, nachos and the too-swoon-for avocado toast with tomatoes. A perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

I used to love this place before the change of ownership. But since the ownership change, I’ve gone in 4 separate times in the past 2 months, and they did not have either of my first two choices, even though they were listed on the menu. The waitress told me normally they have them, they just ran out today and this was an unusual coincidence that they ran out only on the days I went in there. This NEVER happened under previous management. After Keith responded, I felt it fair to change my review as I don’t want to harm his business with a bad review. I hope he makes changes so that they don’t run out of items on the menu — or at least not run out of several things at once like has been happening. The food — when it’s available — is delicious.

Best place for vegan food in the county for sure. Large portions and laid back atmosphere. They try to be as eco friendly as possible with their to go boxes being compostable. Just remember like anywhere ask for the soy version or they will assume dairy. Best vegan food the soy cheese is really yummy all the alternatives work really well large menu to offer a variety of foods. This is my go to for everything. Thanks slice of life if you guys weren’t there I would have had lame meals. If you are vacationing in the area take some meals to go you will be happy you did as «regular» restaurants in the area are not vegan friendly at all.

Just came here for the first time. The food was amazing, shared dishes with family so had a variety to choose form. To be clear, I’m a meat eater but now I might convert.

Was there for a slice and a salad. Was basically on my death bed and didn’t really want to wait long, I was assured it would be 10 mins. After 20 mins, I stumbled back in after visiting Whole Foods and they told me, they had made pizza with animal juice(aka cheese) and would have to re-make it. All in all, it must have been 30 minutes for a very simple order. They went from 3 to 4 stars by giving me a free piece of coconut-chocolate pie for my troubles. My biggest issue with this place is they have way too many animal products. Would love it if the emphasis was on plant-based foods with a couple of animal food suggestions. This way, there would be less errors made when making the food and less animal stuff around my plant-based meals. I’ll be back for sure.

I have liked this place for 15 years, and have recently rekindled my love! They have a revamped menu, with old favorites and new gems. I feel nourished and well fed when I leave, and proud to support such an establishment! The quinoa bowl with kale and sunflower sprouts, tahini dressing and greens was amazing. Nori roll appetizer with sprouts, avocado, cucumber and good wasabi to dip in was fresh and tasty! Fresh pressed juice, tempeh burgers, baked fries, macrobiotic meals, need I go on. Thank you Slice of Life! I will be back soon.

The food at this little vegetarian hut is amazing. I’ve been about five times now and haven’t had anything that’s less than delicious. They are quite accommodating for substitutions on most dishes and the drink menu features some uncommon choices like yerba mate and chai. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, is that the service could be much more personable. Don’t be put off if you’re expecting a happy, smiley Bohemian server who enthusiastically helps you through the menu, but you instead get the sort of disposition I’d imagine reminiscent of a Soviet Russian gulag cafeteria worker. Jokes aside, the service isn’t bad or clumsy at all — just not overly friendly. So in spite of that, it’s one of the best plant-based eats in West Sonoma county.

Man… I don’t want to rate this place a 3, but I don’t want to give it a 4. The airfries — why do they only give you such a small serving of them after charging you extra to add them to your sandwich plate? And why are the air fries hard and rubbery sometimes? I find this place inconsistent. Sometimes the pesto nut burger is delicious, sometimes it’s lackluster and tasteless. Sometimes their whole wheat bun is warm and chewy and delicious, others it’s dry and annoying to eat. A couple of weeks ago I had the steamed vegi salad with their creamy avo dressing and was licking the sauce off my plate. Today, I ordered a side salad with that same creamy avo dressing, and it tasted like mayonnaise. Least favorite on the menu so far is the mock meatball sub– that was so soggy and intense tomato saucey heart burn — and there wasn’t really a meatball — it was this squishy mealy saucey gloop and mostly bun. We ordered a gf pizza for takeout once and were disappointed in the taste and the size for the price. Community market has a much better gf pizza at a great price, and it’s huge. I do love the date shake, but at this point I just have been making my own for so many years that I can make it more to my liking. With all of that said, this place is an institution, and I’d love for it to stick around. A good old fashioned hippie vegetarian dive. Do get the pesto nut burger. It’s worth the risk!

This is my favorite restaurant in the area! I love, love, love Slice of Life. Every single item I’ve ordered has exceeded all my expectations. They are great about vegan/gluten free food but also have dairy options. I would eat here every day if I could.

Slice of Life is my go to spot in Sonoma County for high quality, delicious, organic food! Their menu offers something for everyone. Many different styles of food. They are willing to work for you if you are vegan, gluten free, etc. I bring all my friends here to show them eating out CAN be healthy! My go to dish is the steamed veggies & brown rice with their daily special sauce. They also always have great salads! I have loved every dish I have ever ordered!

So, I’m trying to eat more veggies. And, after a weekend of eating delicious lambs, chicken tacos and other sweet meats along with several bottles of wine and glasses of beer, we thought a vegetarian spot would hit the mark. I had the«nut burger». Despite the unfortunate name, it was really delicious. Made, as the name implies, from various nuts and grains. It came on a wheat bun with lots of veggies. I had a side of baked fries. My girl has a piece of pizza with fake cheese. It was ok. I mean, it’s fake cheese. How good can it really be? Tolerable. I would order with real cheese. She also had a delicious plate of veggies and brown rice with a vegan sauce. It was well seasoned and tasted really good. I wouldn’t come to a veggie joint every day. But, I’d definitely come to this spot again. Our server was super cool and all the people there were smiling. i

Slice of Life is an all-vegetarian restaurant with lots of vegan options. When I read the name, I thought it was stricktly a pizza joint, but they offer a lot more options. It’s really cool that you can order pizza by the slice, no matter what you want on it: regular cheese, vegan cheese, pesto, vegetables, fake meat… what a great idea! Cassie D. ordered a slice with soy mozzarella, but it looked like they didn’t quite melt it all the way, boooo. I got one of the specials of the day, a Tri-Color Quinoa Bowl with tahini sauce, shredded cabbage, sprouts, kale, pumpkin seeds. It was pretty tasty, but I wanted to add some tofu or tempeh to make it heartier, as it was a pretty light meal, especially for $ 12. It was pretty healthy and the sauce was tasty, but I would have liked some sort of protein thrown on top. This would be a nice accompaniment to a sandwich or veggie burger, I think. My friends split the California Nhot Dog, and I really wish I had ordered one of these instead. It’s a bargain at just 5 dollars! I noticed that the junk food items were a lot cheaper than the healthier ones, much like the«real world» is outside of veganism. A greasy burger will cost you a lot less than a salad pretty much anywhere you go, and that’s a pretty sad fact. The raw cheesecake was good, but a little too tart for me. It was pretty and had a nice crust, but the lemon flavor was overpowering. I doubt I will be in this area much, but if you live in Sebastopol, I think you should check it out! Very convenient to Whole Foods and the weekend farmers market.
