First time visit. Smelled good, had a good wine selection, and an appealing menu, but… We went at 9:00 on a Friday, which meant they were allegedly serving for another half hour. Unfortunately we were very poorly attended to. Our cocktails didn’t get delivered until our food came. There was no offer of a second round of drinks, though our glasses sat empty for a long time. We also stared at our empty plates and the empty pizza tray for much too long. When our waiter finally returned there was no offer of dessert or coffee — just the check. Too bad for him — we would have consumed a lot more if we’d only been offered. The organic greens salad was tasty enough. Sadly, the pizza crust simply disintegrated in the center of the heirloom tomato and shrimp pizza we ordered. Just the thinnest and flabbiest bit of crust, wet with oil and cheese. NOT what I was hoping for from a wood oven pizzeria! Finally, the interior is weird. The bar is way too far away, the ceiling just looks unfinished and the open kitchen is too industrial and doesn’t match the color scheme or décor all. So two stars is it, I’m afraid, and with Rosso at hand in Santa Rosa, I see no need to go back.

Loved it. Hubby had the margarita pizza and it was terrific. I had incredible fish with tomatoes, mushrooms and beans. All delicious. We will be back.

This place has an iffy location to begin with but when you enter it you realize the layout is very strange. There’s a big room at one end with an open kitchen and a bar at the other end. The bar area is fine and the big room is normal enough but the middle feels discombobulated(sic?). There’s a huge pizza oven that looks like an upside down bathtub. Anyway, bad feng shui to say the least. Appetizers: antipasto was decent with some fennel, braised carrots, breasaola, prosciutto, etc. The mussels were mediocre especially the liquid they were in which was not real flavorful. I asked the waiter if it was going to be a «brothy tomatoe sauce» and he said yes. NOT! Pizza: W /fennel sausage was limp, limp, limp. This is what a hot wood burning oven is supposed to eliminate. Get that heat up folks! Salad: caesar was acceptable. Pasta: ling w peas(fresh) and some other ingredients was very tasty. Considering I did not have many items I cannot really critique this restaurant properly. They seem to be serious and trying to be authentic. The fresh peas in the pasta is telling. But my feeling is that if you’re going to put«pizza» in your name… make it beyond reproach!!!

Disappointed about hours and communication. Check the hours before you go since the hours posted on the web are no longer accurate. And, don’t expect a call I’d you leave a message. For three days I tried to buy a gift certificate for a friend. First, they were closed and then they never returned my call. And, I wanted to give them business. Very disappointing!

Whoa. So, here we are, on a Friday night. The Pixies are on the music menu, and I’m enjoying some interesting appetizers — garlic olives and cumin cashews, and can’t wait for my Margarita pizza. Then…my head turns toward the right and I see three of the prep staff with cameras, taking a picture of a pig’s head before they«prep» it. I can see it in plain view. So, I say to our waiter«hey, man — have a little consideration for your non meat-eatin’ patrons» and I get«oh sorry, sure, I’ll tell them to be a bit more discrete.» You would think after I was fairly mortified that at least the appetizers would be on the house, or a manager would express their condolences, but no – full price, some semi-avoidance. Lame-o.

Yummy Stinging Nettles pie. Better than Peter Lowell’s up the street. Warm décor and kick ass stone oven. Do not miss this place!

Nothing to write home about… oh, maybe just the fact that they have«exciting selection of wood-fired pizzas» which is what attracted me to this place. But, when my order arrived, it was a little disappointing: the thin crust pizza was a little bit oily, tasty but oily… I also ordered the village bakery bread with stephen’s olio and balsamic bread, it was good but ordinary… what would’ve tipped it to extraordinary was if they added parmesan cheese to the olio and balsamic vinegar. SERVICEWASPERFECT, though, they were quick and their attentiveness was just right… I’m not sure if I’ll get the same treatment, if there were more than 2 people in the restaurant. In the end, you just have to consider if it’s worth the $ and the trip…

I had the Fennel Sausage Pizza, wood fired to perfection! Great place and pleasant staff. A perfect end to a wonderful coastal day.

I have been to Pizzavino 707 many times, and I haven’t had a bad meal yet. I love the seasonal menu, and while it’s sad to fall in love with a menu item and never see it again, I’m always looking forward to next. My personal favorites have been the Saffron Arancini and The Crab Pizza(Who would have thought-crab pizza? It was to die for!) Always have had good service, friendly staff, especially since the company I keep is very fond of the cocktails(In particular, the Il Siciliano). Definatly give it a chance, and remember to soak up the ambiance, it will add to your meal!

The chef, Andrew Dovel, has slowly been rolling out great entrees to compliment their amazing selection of pizzas. I had their fire-roasted chicken the other night, and the taste was spectacular!

Went here on a Sunday night with a large party to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Our reservation was at 7:00 and when we got there, the restaurant was practically empty. I ordered an entrée, while the rest of the table ordered various pizzas. We also had salads, wine & cocktails. Everyone seem satisfied with the food. The reason I’m giving only 2 stars is for service & atmosphere. The restaurant is large & open with brick walls, so even with only a few patrons, it was very noisy and hard to hear. The waiter only occasionally came by the table to check on us. Our drink order was only taken after we had been there for quite a while. He never asked anyone at my end of the table if we wanted more wine or cocktails. And then about 8:30(while we were still eating), the staff started stacking chairs on top of tables, loudly sorting silverware near our table, etc etc. They also changed the music to techno and kept playing it louder & louder. It was irritating, but comical at the same time.

My bf and I decided to check out Sebastopol after our weekend in Bodega Bay. We stopped by the town and got hungry so he Unilocaled away and found this place. It didn’t look open but we walked in and found patrons dining and were greeted so we sat down and ordered a few things. You can’t really tell from the outside but when you walk in it’s really spacious. There’s a bar with a few people watching the football, a large woodfired oven in the middle of the whole restaurant and an open kitchen right in the middle while the sitting arrangements are all surrounding. I also noticed an upstairs which could’ve been more place to sit. This place was absolutely huge. So my bf and I agreed on getting the antipasto and the bacon and spinach pizza. The antipasto came out with a variety of quality cured meats and roasted vegetables. The vegetables were absolutely fresh and great. The baby carrots and roasted garlic were my fav! Simple but absolutely amazing. Then came our pizza. It was a thin crust small pizza with cheesy oozing and bacon and spinach all over. I thought the bacon bits would be more in chunks like I’ve seen with other places but it was sliced and the cheese was very rich… maybe too much so. And the spinach itself was slightly charred from baking in the oven but not completely cooked. My bf and I didn’t appreciate the taste of that too much since it tasted kind of «green» still. The combo sounded good on paper but when tasting it it just fell kind of short. The cheese and bacon was overpowering to me while the spinach being partially cooked gave it an odd texture and taste. My bf didn’t like it either and complained that the cheese itself had a chalky aftertaste. We could be knit-picking but we’ve had amazing gourmet pizzas before(look at my review for Serious Pie in Seattle, WA) and this just wasn’t the same caliber. Overall, the service and antipasto was the highlight of our meal but the pizza which I’m assuming it’s known for w/the name and everything… fell short. Maybe we chose a wrong pizza but sadly if we ever strolled around Sebastopol again we wouldn’t come rushing here.

Don’t miss the small town of Sebastapol & pizza vino 707. There’s more than pizza here– I tried one of the small plates/starters-the tuna conserva salad: made with cured tuna made on the premises, a chili vinaigrette, capers, arugula, red onion, cucumber & something called«corona» beans which were excellent. Just for the heck of it, I also tried a plaza cocktail– the Amalfi: made with an Italian apertif, Ginger beer & fresh mint. It was very refreshing on a hot day. I definately got more than I bargined for &FYI: they offer gluten-free pizza crust. I coudn’t resist trying it, too, so I ordered a gluten-free pizza to go…

Went here yesterday for lunch. We were quickly seated but the our server was very strange. He had the weirdest personality and seemed annoyed and hardly answered my question when I asked him«What makes the spicy fries spicy?» The proscuitto pizza we ordered was lacking for being made in a wood fire oven. I am not new to wood fired ovens since I’ve been going to Rosso’s in Santa Rosa now since they opened, also Jacksons in Santa Rosa, and my Dad is such a fan of them he had one built in the backyard. The sauce was pretty good but all the toppings just fell right off the pizza. :(I was also disappointed that the coke I ordered came out to me in a bottle. I was really looking forward to a fountain soda. I wanted to like this place more because I LOVE the décor! The restaurant has a really chic feel to it, with an open kitchen which I really do appreciate. The bar looked beautiful! I just wouldn’t personally come back to Pizzavino, there are too many other restaurants to try than settling for mediocre. I would say Décor gets 5 stars but the food is nothing to write home about.

Sexy, fun, airy, indoor-outdoor seating, on a plaza, decently priced with amazing pizza(yeah, they have other things, but order the pizza!). Thin flaky crust, all fresh ingredients, interesting combinations — one of my favorite toppings is the farm fresh egg cracked over fresh herbs, mushrooms, and… yum. We often take our guests, friends, family, business, etc here for the great atmosphere. I always seem to meet someone new as the atmosphere, space and menu really support the community terrace feel. Staff is great. Good energy. If you want a good cocktail or wine suggestion, go any night. I swear John the bartender is there e-v-e-r-y night. We’ve asked for a few obscure things after traveling and he always nails it. Clientele is usually friends or family. Also seems to be a few regulars at the bar that enjoy socializing after work. Lighting and atmosphere are super-dooper. Why only 4 stars? A good place to go, but not in the land of knock-my-socks-off.

This was the worst pizza experience ever! I was so excited to go to Pizzavino but I was very disappointed. The service was rude and abrupt. It is very loud there and they weren’t even busy at 7pm on a Saturday night. We ordered several appetizers, one didn’t make it to the table. I was so ready to leave at the end that I forgot to check to see if the forgotten app was on the bill. I ordered the Roma pizza thinking traditional red pizza with the addition of an egg on top(I am a sucker for an egg). The pizza was cheesless, had capers, anchovies and CILANTRO on top. No kidding. Cilantro. It was not a good combination. Other people at the table enjoyed their dinners a bit more but nothing to rave about. I won’t go back. Too expensive for the experience and quality.

Quickie Lunch Saturday at 11:00am opening time. Dining room and open kitchen is cavernously large. It’s also intentionally industrial warehouse ugly. The high ceiling is particularly bad, rough boards, some areas have sheet rock, some acoustic baffles. It’s kind’a a mess. If I served food this good, I’d spend some cash on slicker décor… Cesar salad dressing is ultra-creamy. Lots of egg in that there sauce. Romaine lettuce was extra smooth and soft, almost like Bibb lettuce. Delicious. Pizza Sweet Italian sausage, sweet purple onion, fresh basil and mozzarella cheese was damn near perfect. Crust was tasty, thin and crisp. Wood fired oven gives this«pie» Mojo. Wine: Scherrer pinot noir at $ 10 per glass is rich, fruity, smooth. Perfect quaff with the pizza. Several other by-the-glass selections are available. The Italian wines are lower priced than the Sonoma county wines. This place is now my second favorite Pizza place in Sonoma county. My favorite remains D’Avola in Geyserville. Rosso in Santa Rosa drops to 3rd place.

Heard about this place through friends, so decided to hit it up for dinner. We got there about 6:30 on a Friday night Parking — behind the restaurant, next to the town square, no problems with getting a spot. Ambiance — Casual, clean, open floor plan. The space looks a little voluminous, but the overall feel was warm and inviting. I noticed some sound absorbing panels on the ceiling cleverly disguised, so the there was not that loud ambient noise that some places like this can get… The kitchen is visible from almost any seat… which we liked. Food — The menu is fairly simple and easy to read. We had pizza, Caesar salad and cocktails. The pizza are about 10″ and VERY tasty. The Caesar was well presented and mild. The cocktails are creative and also yummy. Besides the great tasting food, I really liked observing the chef and kitchen staff. This was a professional kitchen. The chef monitored all food going out and frequently tasted what was being prepared. His staff we professional, diligent and friendly to one another. I could tell everyone took pride in what was being done. Service — Prompt, friendly and inviting. What was nice to observe is how pleasant the staff interacted among themselves not just the customers. To me this is a more accurate judge of how the staff and kitchen function, not just the end result. Overall, this place is worth the time and money. We spent about $ 90 for three of us, two pizza, salad and a few cocktails, and a tip. I absolutely recommend this place…

Wife and I stopped by there Sunday during the Farmer’s market. We had the ceasar salad and the sauage pizza. Both were very good, but just needed a little more. The salad could have used another 25 cents worth of romaine. The crust a little more char, and the toppings a touch more cheese and sauage. We did enjoy the fare though and are looking forward to going back. Overall though I’d say this is best pizza I’ve had in Sonoma County, my wife still likes Giovanni’s in Cotati better.
