Visited yesterday — perfect weather to wander around the lovely neighborhood. Most of the homes and gardens are well kept and the sculptures are fascinating. As you stand and look, you see more details on each one. We also visited Andy’s Produce Market(don’t miss seeing the Noah’s ark outside the church on your way there) and the Barlow offered some great snacks and lunch options.

When a friend of mine asked if I wanted to go on an art tour while walking around her neighborhood in Sebastopol, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Art tour in a neighborhood? I’d absolutely like to see it! We arrived at Florence Avenue after a short walk — I was amazed at the cool sculptures we walked past. Front yards were all so much more fun with these art pieces — very unique, and different from any other neighborhood I’ve walked through. The creative pieces recycle old material and are all sculpted by one artist and painted by another. Dogs, trucks, mermaids, and my favorite: an A’s baseball player — plus many, many more through Florence Ave and around town. You’ll be able to quickly figure out the artist’s house — it’s the one with a TON of sculptures out front!

This is a fun but short stroll — allocate 15 minutes — in Sebastapol. It features amazing sculptures made of reused metal, flashlights, gears, bulbs, forks and so on by Patrick Amiot and Brigette Laurent. Truly creative and inspiring and definitely not your run of the mill art walk. For more of this artists work, head down the Gravenstein Highway. Look for the giant yellow duck trailer. You’ll see a yard full of his other creations.

Patrick and Brigitte are the best. They are both wonderfully creative and the sculptures speak for themselves.

Lots of street sculptures, fun and inventive, line Florence. Take your time, stroll down the street, and bring a camera. If you love fun folk art made from rejiggered stuff, you will love this.

I’ve seen much better in my travels, fun but a little pricey for my lawn.

One of the best things Sebastapol has to offer that doesn’t revolve around food and wine.

I can’t add anything to what the other reviewers have said other than this was the high point of our recent trip to Sebastopol. I had to thank my friend Matt for letting us know about it — we had just done a Unilocal check-in a block away from the street when Matt noticed it on my Facebook feed. He mentioned the street and we walked right over. What a great exercise in serendipity!

BESTTHINGEVER! This is the happiest street in the world. I loved all of the sculptures. We had so much fun walking down the street, seeing all of them. They were doing an open studio day, so we went in and met Brigitte, who paints the sculptures. Super nice. They were selling calendars to help support the schools, so I brought one home to cheer up my cubicle walls in 2011. I kind of wish I could have a real one! Some day.

Start at Patrick’s house @ 382 Florence where they have maps of the whole tour. The sculptures are fantastic and made out of recycled materials. The sculptures are painted by Brigitte Laurent.

Don’t miss this street if you come to visit Sebastopol!!! It’s super cute — the creative metal sculptures you see all over town are in almost every front yard on this street. Patrick Amiot, who makes them, lives here. We had SO much fun looking around, as did a number of other folks walking the few blocks. It’s amazing how original and creative they are — and they match each house so well. Per the KQED segment, there are 107 of these sculptures all around town(finding them all could be a fun day!!!) If you want to cheat and see them before you go: But, I sort of recommend that you don’t cheat and just see them in person. It was more fun that way!
