Always some sports game to watch, great way to spend a night. Pork taco plate and ezra plate are both very inexpensive and quite good tasting. Some nice healthier drinks as well. Great place to have a meal at.

Went to this place for dinner with my wife, she had chicken nachos, I had the Texas Longhorn burrito. We were extremely disappointed… the carne asada in my burrito lacked flavor; actually the whole burrito was a «0». my wife’s chicken nachos were extremely soggy and watery and she bit into pieces of pork in her chicken nachos… Also, the salsas are not very good at all, they lack flavor. We had to wait for what it seemed forever for our order to be ready; it wasn’t until 35+ minuets passed that my wife asked me to go check on our order. I went up to the order pick up window and«LO and Behold» our order had been sitting there for how long«No one Knows»…Give it some thought… Also, the cashier was«RUDE and UNWELCOMING»…it seems to bother her when customers ask for information about menu items… or anything else for that matter… Other than our 1 star«Gourmet Experience»… if your looking for a cozy, cute, beach themed… kind of — sort of…“Mexican Taqueria/Fonda type place; this place… might be it?

I cant believe i havent written a review for this place yet, i’ve been coming here for years. They have the best quality food for the best price in sebastopol. The costumer service is excellent and the food is too. The braised pork burritto is my fav and chicken on a hot tin roof is delicious! Swing by and gimme them a try.

I had the Seb-Mex salad with grilled chicken. Instead of salad dressing I squeezed fresh limes from the salsa bar over it. It was the best salad I ever had. It was so fresh; I think they picked the greens from their organic garden in the back yard.

Good food, good people, good background music, and a good space. I often choose this place because it’s a good place to bring my kid and when I have company, it’s a good meeting spot. The music in the background is often reggae or a mellow Spanish rock(rock en espanol, i.e. Mana). This was my first visit where I was able to enjoy the outside space. It is beautiful — art, a garden full of vegetables, a grill, a fountain, shaded picnic tables, unique sitting benches(love the surfboard). I may utilize this as an event space one day. My favorite dish is the quesadilla with chicken. If you have a smaller appetite, it’s enough for two meals, or to share.

Good food. Super slow service. Takes forever to get your order, even when it’s not that busy. Also be sure to check your order first if you take it to go. It’s probably not what you ordered.

Tasteless mexican food. …the salsa bar had a choose of a green and a red. Both were thin as water, tasted like water and when I told the gal that I ordered from and actually gave her a sample… it wasn’t a «big deal» didn’t offer me anything with my chips… The gal sweeping even tasted the salsa and agreed with me… she offered to get me some pico de gallo… my meal came… looked great. Zero taste. Very bland food. I was highly dissappointed

I am not sure why I end with pork instead of the chicken I order. Yesterday I called in an order for pickup, Chicken on a Hot Tin Roof burrito and basic nachos. There was pork all over the nachos, soggy chips, hardly any cheese, and it was barely melted, the chips were filled with oil, did I mention the pork in my chicken burrito. My last few times there have not been good, but keep giving them another chance hoping they are just having off days. The staff always seems to annoyed with customers and the service is just meh.

Had the pork tacos. Not very tasty. The ambiance inside is not bad reminds me of the inside of sequoia burger. The chips were the only thing that was good about my meal… not enough to Bring me back.

Some of the worst tasting food ever. A for effort but I had to add a boatload of salt to make anything taste ok, and even then I couldn’t finish most of my meal. Yuck! They need to learn what Mexican seasoning tastes like! Not to add our simple orders took so long!!! 1 good thing– great chips

Having recently moved to Sebastopol from Southern California my husband and I have been on the quest for delicious burritos, as scrumptious as we had become used to in San Diego. Unfortunately, we have not been successful here in Sonoma County. First, we tried a place just down the street from Papas & Pollo and were seriously dissatisfied at the«outcome» after leaving the restaurant. This establishment will not be named out of respect of those with stronger digestive tracts. Today, we ordered the fish taco plate and a vegan burrito from Papas & Pollo. It looked delicious and I was excited to eat it, but after biting in I found there wasn’t much flavor. The sauces(2) that are available appear to have water added and are severely lacking. My husband did not finish his food and neither did I. I am happy to see that they use organic ingredients and have local beers on tap too! For now, we will continue our search for burritos!

First off I would like to say that the stuffed yam is actually a sweet potato(bright orange flesh equals sweet potato and more nutritious than yams which have light/white colored flesh). It was pretty good. The seb mex salad with chicken was also pretty good, but there was an unappetizing puddle of water at the bottom of the dish, perhaps from the sautéed veggies. Plus, who puts marinated artichoke hearts on a Mexican-style salad? Jicama would have been perfect. I ordered a taco which was dry and I would have slathered it in salsa except their salsa is an insult to salsa, but since there are only two kinds, choose the green. It was really thin, watery, flavorless salsa.

If there’s one restaurant I frequent in Sonoma County, it’s Papas and Pollo! My fiancée and I absolutely love this place. Their chicken is the best, and I always recommend getting the chicken burrito or chicken nachos! The salsa bar has some spicy selections(just how I like my salsa), and the service is always quick and easy(I recommend calling it in ahead of time!). If you’re looking for fresh Mexican food, definitely go here!

I love this place. Their slow cooked guinness stewed pork is AMAZING! I love getting that on the stuffed potato, regular or sweet. And be sure to get some of their green salsa. So good. Sweet chill surfer atmosphere, likely something here for most people. Good food for a good price.

Thanksgiving around the bend… a chill in the air… we pondered what to eat… and headed to Papas(hadn’t been there in years). We ordered a chicken burrito and a carne asada taco plate. The place is funky with a beach-type feel providing a perfect atmosphere before all the holiday pressure. FOOD: food was 3+ stars this evening. Fresh, local, organic. It will not taste like food from your regular taco joint. My chicken burrito came cut in half and was absolutely perfectly put together(nothing fell out or was hanging out or impossible to hold)…it was packed too. The only complaint is that is was luke-warm to cool. The taco plate was large and good. But the chips were thick and greasy and the salsas(green and red) were disappointing being too watery. SERVICE: 3+ stars – you order at the counter and pick up your meal when your name is called. Most people bus their used plates to the bins. The staff was super friendly and nice this evening. It took a little bit to get our order but it’s not a chain and hey, food should be savored. ATMOSPHERE: 3 stars – like i said… beachy, funky, a few flies, cozy, casual. PRICES: nearly everything was between $ 8-$ 10, and they have a kid’s section $ 4-$ 5, i think. It’s not your two dollar taco truck but then neither is the food. OVERALL: 3+ stars but rounding up to 4. Papas & Pollo is a nice change of pace to the standard Mexican fare and I think it’s a great little hang out for Sebastopol folks. I want to try their breakfast burrito someday — thanks for using good ingredients!

I’ve driven past this place a hundred times what a great little hidden treasure. I will always stop!!! Excellent flavors. I had the shrimp tacos the portions were huge. That atmosphere was a little cold but the food woo were tasty.

If you’re starving or an impatient being — call your order in ahead of time or show up before you’re ravenous! Small, quaint, and fun atmosphere that offers delicious food and spicy salsa. My steak queso was overflowing with perfectly seasoned meat, black beans, and melty cheeses. The stuffed yam with chicken looked amazing and smelled even more divine… I’m going to devour that on my next visit!!!

Love that they source local and organic that drew us in, but flavor was lacking. Not impressed by their salsas, plus both were spicy, they need a mild version. I had a fish taco, was fresh but again not full flavor I will give it a 3. My son had veggie taco plate and he gave it a 3. Our friend gave his chicken burrito a 4

It’s really one of my favorite places to eat in Sebastopol. We love pretty much everything on the menu. Pacifico on tap is a major win in my book, and I’m usually there ordering the Texas Longhorn burrito and I’ll add papas and avocado. It’s true that you don’t come to Papa’s for fast service. If you’re starving or an impatient being — call your order in ahead of time or show up before you’re ravenous.
