Lonnie’s Barber Shop

Leaving Lonnies today I was pretty upset! Not with him or his shop but the lady April who cut my sons hair. Before she even started I told her we wanted to keep his hair long and we were going for a surfer style. My son has a ton of hair and should have been pretty easy. we left with a short uneven cut. she even clipped his ear! This place came recommended by a friend and Ill never bring him back. It too bad since I was hoping to find a local place to take him. Back to the powder room he goes

I’ve had my hair cut here twice, once by the heavily tattooed woman and once by an older gentleman (Lonnie?). They were friendly enough but both times were pretty mediocre haircuts. They get 3 stars because options are pretty limited in Sebastopol

Lonnie cut my hair yesterday, started by poking my ear with his scissors, producing a small amount of blood. His comment: «ears sure bleed a lot, like noses». My response: «keep your scissors out of my nose!». He then cut my hair. Okay job, but after having a real barber for 25 years, I am still looking. Lonnie’s shop is depressing, old, dusty trophy heads, music playing thru a tv set anf dilapidated naugahyde furniture near collapse. Regulars come in and know the secret cabinet with the girly mags. Me, I am done with this guy.

Both Lonnie and his co-​cutter were able to get my 3-​year-​old to sit through a cut On two separate occasions and did a nice job on his hair.

Lonnie has been cutting hair for over 50 years and is great.
His expertise shines.
I’ve been going there for 4 years and my wife who is very picky says it’s the best haircut I ever had in our 19 years together.
Every time a great cut and at a great price. Not sure what I’ll do if Lonnie ever retires.

Lonnie has owned the place for over 14 years. The décor is straight from 1963 when this «state of the art» mid-​century modern design barbershop was the latest thing around. Check out the lovely row of waiting chairs that are art in themselves with a deer head on the wall standing guard! Appreciate the synthetic wood (easy to clean!) cupboards with matching custom modern clock over the barber bar. My house is from the same year but no clock like that! Feast your eyes while enjoying a haircut and friendly conversation with Lonnie. Have a donut from the place a few doors down. See if you can get your beard and side burns trimmed the way you like them for Burning Man or the Hand Car Regatta! There are not many real Barbers left so take this opportunity to support local business and preservation of a historic site while time-​traveling back to 1963!

I have been going here for 10 years. Lonnie and Jolita are great haircutters and the price for a haircut is right. You can’t ask for more from a small town barbershop.
Plus you can catch up with what’s happening in town while you’re there.
