I made reservations for a special dinner with my lady on Valentine’s eve. We had a late seating, the staff was friendly and responsive. The setting was pleasant, quiet and appropriate for a special dinner. The wine list was limited, but was sufficient and had numerous fine selections. Food was meticulously prepared and properly served and presented. Deserts were creative, tasty and beautiful. Prices were high, but I felt we received good value and we enjoyed the evening immensely. The chef and wait staff are commended for their attentiveness and attention to detail. A lovely evening that will not soon be forgotten.

I have had some very nice meals here. I particularly enjoy the nights they have live music, although wish there was more variety.

My first time here, however have always wanted to visit. We sat inside the bar so we could be warm and we were pleasantly greeted by the band playing fireside! It felt very warm and welcoming… The waitress was really sweet and accommodating. We ordered the ahi app which was only ok. Then we ordered the trio cheese plate which consisted of cow, sheep and goat cheeses, per our waitress’s suggestion. It was delish! But when is cheese not? For dinn we ordered the catch of the day-which was paired w butternut risotto and a pomegranate reduction… it was good! However, the pom was little too sweet and should have had a tad less of the pom to fish ratio, in my opinion. Also got the vege medley which I ordered the garlic aioli w it-loved it!!! And by accident they brought us the braised greens-which they let my bf enjoy! He was happy to be bringing it home w him! I’m not a greens type of gal so. And yes, of course I had to get desert! Did I mention I had vino? I started w sauv blanc but then ended w pinot. And I tried the lemon trio! It was good, but not amazing. But yes, we still killed it!

I loved this place. I had the fish & chips which I loved, it also came with this apple slaw which I never heard of and I had to take some of it home because it was so filling and plus we were in a hurry at the end. I also appreciated the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the envornment.

Went last night to celebrate our anniversary. We were the only ones in the dining room and had a table close to the Christmas tree. Food was excellent and service was great, thank you Kristy!

Absolutely perfect ! Fabulous food and presentation! Wonderful experience! The wine selection finished the experience exquisitely. The right place to celebrate our 40th anniversary.

Our time at the French Garden is usually sitting at the bar, having a cocktail and ordering off of their bar menu… but the French Garden no longer serves the delicious ribs… i couldn’t believe it. We really-really-really-really thought their ribs were the most succulent in the county and were certainly a proverbial favorite of many customers. Why o why would they be taken away… put them back please. I don’t want to come anymore! Merci!

i personally didn’t like the décor; it seemed a bit over the top. the food was good, not great. the service was a bit slow(we had a large group though), but really friendly. if i was in the area and had the opportunity to go back, i probably would.

Pretty disappointed with this place. Finally made it out there for my birthday dinner with my family after years of meaning to check it out. We figured they would serve food with top quality ingredients considering they source all their veggies from their biodynamic farm, but we were wrong and sorely disappointed. We found out that they use soy/canola oil for precooking most of their food and found the food overly salty, especially the sauce that came with the duck and beans dish. As for the positives, portion sizes were decent, steak was grilled nicely. Side veggies left something to be desired. For how they represent themselves as a farm to table restaurant and their price point, I would expect more educated choices on ingredients and better flavoring. Won’t be returning, and definitely will not be recommending to friends!

It is a nice place. We sat outside which was nice. Salad was great and wine list alas and cheese was great. Husband wasn’t wild about the salmon ok. Half the French fries were not edible and the aiole had too much Rosemary. . Like many restaurants who serve gluten free items– they don’t bother to taste the gf items before they serve them. The gf crackers were stale. They comped me two champagnes. What they need to do is put gf bread in freezer and toast a few pieces for gf customers. Why can’t they figure this out? It really was not anything I could eat. Beyond the salad and cheese.

Bartender Bronwyn knows her business. What a delight to be in competent hands re: wine, drinks and the menu. Capresse salad was delicious. Charcuterie plate with cheese. Highly recommend the Le Pich Cabernet. Keoke coffee excellent as well. Go relax and enjoy!

We had a late lunch on a Sunday. Not crowded, quiet, relaxing and cool inside. Perfect eggs benedict according to my very picky friend, and an excellent chicken club sandwich with extra crispy fries. Ice cold fresh squeezed grapefruit juice when it was 90 degrees out topped off a wonderful lunch.

A fantastic discovery. We went to a sold-out dinner/concert on a Sunday night with folk singer Jennifer Berezan. The prix fixe was just $ 29. Incredible portions, delicious flavors, organic ingredients. Highly recommend the Peach Salad with organic Farm Baby Lettuces, Peaches, Cherry Tomatoes, Goat Cheese, Sliced Almonds and Banyuls Vinaigrette. Chimichurri Tri Tip with mashed poatoes, farm vegetables and wild mushroom sauce was obscenely delicious. And the summer fruit Martini Sabayon with fresh whipped cream was delicious. Service was impressive. And wine selection reasonable and yummy. I’ll be back for sure. The intimate vibe was relaxed and fun. Everyone was toasting and singing and laughing. Lots of easy parking next door, too.

A real surprise/disappointment. We have come to FG more times than any other restaurant in Sonoma Cty, and for the first time the food was really not worth the extra premium you pay here. The French onion soup, usually so reliable, tasted of nothing but salt. The burger, which we formerly classified as one of the best, was dry and tasteless, Three of four diners had it and all were thumbs down, unlike our previous visit in Feb 2015 where the burger was 5-star all the way. The rhubarb strawberry crisp was perfect, and the mac’n’cheese was a split decision of 2 for, 2 against. Flavor was good, we differed on style: this is the thin sauce style, not the thicker Bechamel mac. FG stays on our list for now, but we will see how they perform on our next visit in the fall.

We sampled their wedding menu and it was excellent. Staff was friendly and the chef, Arturo, even came out to greet us. Very impressed with the quality of the ingredients they use.

Really fresh food. The mussels were awesome! Service was a little slow, but we had music in the lounge on a Saturday evening and some good convo with other guests. Really enjoyed our evening.

We had the best French dinner here on my wife’s birthday. The sorbet is the best we ever tasted. The catch of the day which my darling ordered exceeded all her expectations. The ambiance was superb. I am so glad my hotel recommended this lovely restaurant.

Enjoy the outdoors at this unique and comfortable atmosphere. During the spring and fall the garden dining is magnificent. Try the union soup… Great. The unique freshly picked vegetables are a great plus here. The friendliness if the staff and management rounds out a very nice experience. I enjoyed Thanksgiving there in 2013 and thought that the mood, choices of dishes and ambience was delightful. Always something new on the specials list. I recommend if you are passing through or looking to get away from your usual haunts for a unique experience.

I went here with a small group of girls to catch up over lunch. The crowd was a little older, live music, amazing cocktails, beautiful garden area outside, amazing bistro restaurant. The food was delish! I had a burger with fries it was the perfect size. I loved this place! It had a peaceful vibe and the food was amazing.

This is an interesting restaurant. A Unilocal reviewer commented that this is a destination restaurant. Although I disagree with that level of praise they can operate at a high level but still have plenty of room for improvement. This isn’t French cuisine as much as it is French inspired farm-to-table yada yada. The french onion soup is fantastic. The salads are done exceptionally well. The entrees are hit and miss frankly. When you get a hit they are very good to superb, when you get a miss it’s still good but nothing that you couldn’t get at 50 other Sonoma County restaurants. Veggies play a strong role in the food.(I just got six freaking 5 inch golden carrots in my vegetable risotto) This I really appreciate, although that was too much carrot. I would love to see a heavier lean toward French cuisine in the menu. I would also love to see a dessert soufflé on the menu. Service tends to be above average. It can feel a little pricey.
