Yma Esthetics

I first started going to Yma Esthetics four years ago, and I couldn’t be happier. I first made an appointment because I had been getting waxed and it was creating a lot of irritation and ingrown hairs. Sugaring produces much better results, and Amy is amazing! She really takes care of her clients, and her work is very high quality. I agree with previous reviewers in that she’s also just great to be around.

After a painful experience at another studio I was quite hesitant to try sugaring again. Bruising and blood, not really my idea of something I should be paying good money for (unless it involves roller derby). Luckily after my first visit with Amy I was sold. I’ve been going to Yma for over a year now and am a very happy customer.
Tips:
1) Yma is easy to access and street parking is always available.

2) Amy is extremely knowledgeable and will put you at ease whether you’re a newbie or a regular.
3) Thanks to Amy I am addicted to lash tinting. It rocks, try it!
4) Online scheduling is available, always a plus for busy people.
5) Unlike a few other studios where I’ve literally sat on a table shivering, the salon is always nice and toasty. Oh yeah, and it smells great.
6) This makes no difference to me but perhaps some of you modest folks might appreciate this — I have never had an appointment booked so close to another individual that I bumped into them at the studio. So if sugaring is your dirty little secret rest assured it’s safe!

Hands down, the BEST esthetician I’ve ever been to. I went to Amy regularly for sugaring when I lived in Seattle, and miss her dearly! Before finding her, I was quite the nomadic Brazilian waxing client, and have been to many, many Seattle estheticians.
What makes Amy the best? Let me list the ways:
–absolutely professional, timely, and courteous
–FANTASTIC sense of humor, and easy to talk to and feel comfortable with
–knows what the heck she’s doing, and does it well — I left her studio pleased every time
–fair prices
–super clean in every aspect of the studio
–the most gentle, and least painful hair removal I’ve ever had
–dark chocolate in the sign-​in as a pre or post sugaring treat :-)
I now live on a different continent, but were that not the case, I’d sign her on as my esthetician for life. Highly recommended!
P. S. There is street parking, which might sound scary on Capitol Hill, but her studio is tucked away into a side street — there are always plenty of spots!

The facial I received at Yma Esthetics was heavenly. The atmosphere was very soothing and relaxing and Amy has an amazing touch. I highly recommend this charming intimate spa.
