When I moved to Seattle 4 years ago, I tried over half a dozen salons and stylists. After Nihad was recommended to me, I’ve never let anyone touch my hair ever again. That was over 2 years ago. I’ve followed this guy from an Aveda salon to his apartment(he washed my hair in his sink for my 2nd appointment and it STILL didn’t phase me) all the way to VIRTUSALON! Nihad is a delight. He is skilled, truly cares about his clients, and just a wonderful person. You walk away not only feeling great about your hair, but about yourself! Also, the Phyto products are awesome, especially the hair masks. I haven’t used a different conditioner in years.

I’ve been going to Nihad for about 2 years now and I will follow him wherever he goes! Despite his young age, Nihad has experience well beyond his years and it shows in his work. His cuts & colors are always styled to perfection with high quality products such as Phyto. The salon is decorated with full length mirrors, antique furniture and local artwork that give it a very warm/trendy feel. If that doesn’t do it for you, I’m sure the glass of wine that Nihad will be pouring for you will!

I just checked out the pictures of the salon on here, and a lot has changed in these short months. The building is now painted orange, and is wayyyy cuter than before. There is still great furniture and full length mirrors, but it has an even cozier colonial/havana/salon studio feeling, and there are now three wonderful stylists. Let’s talk about one of those stylists. Juan. Juan is new to Virtu, but definitely not new to the industry. If you’re curious as to who to see for your hair needs, your search ends here. Not only is he an awesome stylist who gets it right every time, but he is one of the last truly genuine people left in the world that you could talk to forever. This works well while getting your hair done, but what matters most to people is usually the style and color. I could bring in a picture of just about anyone, and show it to him, and he is completely confident about and capable of achieving the look. He works with girls whose hair textures range all across the board, and is probably the most well-versed stylist in Seattle at working with a diversity of clients. I know that he is currently competing with a packed schedule of fashion shoots and other gigs, so I hope that he never leaves our little Seattle neighborhood. You MUST schedule an appointment with him. It’s all good energy. Oh, and on the product end, they ARE carrying and using Phyto products… I’m ecstatic about that as well.

A great hairdresser is an indispensable commodity. Nihad, owner of the new Virtu Salon, is just that. A master of blowouts, Nihad works magic with a round brush. While sitting back and sipping wine, Nihad transforms your dull lifeless hair into a full bodied, shiny, and stylish coif. Virtu salon is a cozy space, filled with beautiful full-length mirrors, incredible artwork, and antique furniture, and is the perfect antithesis to typically starch and generic salon décor. Just recently opened a few weeks ago, Virtu is a hit in the making. Instead of sitting in an ugly Salon chair, a trendy leather chair awaits your company. Nihad moves around and crouches down to cut your hair instead of pumping you up and down in a plastic-y salon seat. He listens to his clients, but also has a good artistic eye and doesn’t need a lot of guidance. A week after having 4 inches lopped off, I decided that maybe we had been almost a little too conservative and would like a little length taken off the back. Nihad was happy to have me come back in and, didn’t just pull out his scissors and take off the length in a matter of seconds, whooshing me out the door in one fell swoop. He told me that he was glad that I came back and would rather take my hair to exactly how I want it in smaller steps. He actually shampooed my hair, trimmed up the back and angled it for me, gave me a great blow out, and then asked if it was OK if he ran the flat iron through it. Nihad knows how important it is to have his clients looking fabulous when they walk out of his salon. Virtu boasts organic hair products, and is on his way to introducing the Phyto organic line to his new shop. Nihad gushed that Phyto is used by a lot of great stylists in Hollywood. I checked it out around Seattle and found that only a couple salons offer that line, and also charge a lot more than Virtu. Nihad is also a master of color. I color my own hair, but if I didn’t, he would be my man. A co-worker of mine has been going to him for quite a while for cuts and color. Her hair always looks wonderful. Right now, Nihad is seriously busy. He has a pretty large clientele and is still in the process of hiring Virtu’s stylists. I’m sure he takes walk-ins(and has a great selection of new US weekly’s to check out while waiting), but my recommendation is that you call him up and schedule an appointment. Trust me it’s worth it! ***Another great perk is the location. Although it’s easy to miss, there is parking behind this salon’s Greenwood location, just don’t miss to turn down the little alley. Oh, and after the great cut and style, head across the street to the Monkey Grind Espresso Bar. The girl who works there Friday afternoons makes a to die for sugar-free coconut latte.
