I was actually pleasantly surprised when I when to this place because at first I was thinking that a vegan grocery store is probably going to be expensive, specialty non-chain stores that are small usually are, but this wasn’t the case. The prices here are more than fair and I found things(like vegan cheese cake) that I cannot find anywhere else. I will make this my new go to grocery store whenever I’m in the area, and if you haven’t been here you should definitely check this place out whether you are a vegan or not.

I really enjoy shopping here and seeing all the vegan products out there! I like that they have a selections of items(food, bath items, some clothing and accessories). I find it a bit pricey, but just know that going in. I haven’t been crazy about any of the fresh baked goods they bring in from vendors, but hopefully the selection will increase!

I have been here about 3 times the past year, and that is because many of the items are quite pricey. However, the things that they have are awesome for vegans because there are many unique items that you may not find at wholefoods and the trip here is faster! No fresh produce here, but rather more snacky or packaged items like crackers, ice cream etc. Great if your looking for healthy, vegan and animal friendly snacks. The workers here are all nice and helpful as well. :)

Vegan Haven is a small space with a diverse and delicious selection of products. I feel great about spending money here, knowing proceeds go to Peaceful Pig Sanctuary. Because it’s located near the university, parking can be tight, however I recommend shopping here on Sunday mornings when it’s quiet and you can park right in front of the store!

I hate this store I love it so much. I spend far too much money here because they have EVERYTHING! I wish there were many of these stores around.

This place is absolutely amazing. I didn’t even know an all vegan grocery store like this even existed. Not only are they all vegan, but they also have specialty vegan food that I’ve been looking for since I became a vegan 2 years ago! Like corn dogs and tuna. What makes this place EVENBETTER is that it’s a non-profit store. All of the workers are volunteers, except for the manager, and all of the money you spend here goes to a pig farm sanctuary. Every vegan should definitely visit and support this awesome place!

Love it here! So many interesting vegan options that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Also close to a bunch of really good vegan restaurants. Kill two birds with one stone if ya know what I mean.

I love this store! I wish there was one like it in every city. The prices here are on par with or lower than other places that carry vegan goods, and it’s so nice to be able to walk in and know that I can buy things without having to scrutinize every ingredient list. There are interesting items that I haven’t seen in other stores, like a good selection of cultured nut-based cheeses, many different packaged cookies, belts, cosmetics, candy, caramel sauce, vegan meats, and so much more. Plus there’s a refrigerated case with food from Wayward Café, like wrapped sandwiches. Best of all, the proceeds go to a great cause. Since it seems like a lot of people aren’t aware of this: except for one full-time and one part-time employee, the store is volunteer operated. All proceeds go to the pigs at the sanctuary.

Really cozy little vegan grocery store. I was on a hunt to find cheese by Miyoko Creamery and after reading reviews, I figured I could come here… and I was not disappointed! Not only did they carry the flavors that were sold out online, the guy behind the counter was able to give me some other recommendations on what’s in the case too.(like omg! that’s local *and* vegan *and* supertastydelicious!) I’ll definitely come back when I’m craving some vegan specialties. Vegan Haven also does more than just food stuffs, but they do carry some lovely vegan handbags, purses, wallets, etc. And some fun animal-forward jewelry.

I’m not from Seattle and this was my first time being in an all vegan grocery store and it was amazing. To not have to check every label is liberating. And their selection was bomb. Some stuff I’ve never seen before, some stuff I only saw online. It was like going to the vegan Mecca. The staff was also really nice and informative.

Checking out my new neighborhood, I wanted to see what was up inside the flying pig place. It’s a cute little vegan grocery, with lots of veg substitutes and little homemade goods. No fresh produce, and most things are quite expensive, but it’s a step up from the corner store a block down, for sure. Check it out if you have time. Their staff are super friendly and have great recommendations for places to eat nearby!

Neat place with a selection of vegan items that even I’ve never tried, and I’ve been vegan for fifteen years. This isn’t a grocery store so much as a convenience store of vegans noms and a little selection of apparel. Go here because you want to stock up on snacks, grab a sandwich from the grab and go cooler and be on your way with vegan amazingness. Don’t expect to do all your grocery shopping here. They don’t have much in the way of produce and it really is a tiny little place, but it’s a cool concept and it’s not for profit, so I’m about it.

Vegan Haven is the place to go if you’re looking for obscure vegan that are hard to find elsewhere. I frequently go in for a couple of items and leave with a full bag! Also, the money goes to a great cause, so what’s not to love?

Great little store with lots of specialty items. I felt like a kid in a candy store! Prices are a bit steep, but vegan foods are not cheap, and I can feel good about spending my cash here. Manager was friendly and helpful. I will definitely return!

As a Vegan, its beyond amazing to be able to buy anything and not worry about if has hidden dairy, eggs, or other animal ingredients. I found several things there I haven’t found at other stores in Seattle which is great. The only two things that would make it better are bigger store(:-) and lower prices.

I moved to Seattle in November from California and have been wanting to check this place out for a while. I walked through the store for about 20 minutes. It’s a small store but they have a lot of unique items and a great selection of vegan foods. I ended up buying: eye shadow, dog treats, 2 photographs of rescued pigs and eye makeup remover. All sales benefit«Pigs Peace Sanctuary». I felt great because all of my purchases were not only cruelty free but all profits go to the sanctuary. I plan on checking out the sanctuary soon. I also had a nice conversion with 2 of the employees about when/why they went vegan. For anyone that is not vegan but is interested in going vegan, they had a lot of free information regarding the transition to a vegan lifestyle.

A very fine, cute little neighborhood grocery store located in the University District. All merchandise is vegan so that will make vegans delighted! I saw a familiar brand of ice cream sandwiches I really liked in the past so I will make a mental note there. Despite the small space there is a very fine selection of groceries and doesn’t seem limited at all. There is a nice crafty section with some hemp hats and other little knick knacks. Friendly and helpful place! P. S. I better wait until winter comes to buy those ice cream sandwiches. I don’t want them melting on the way back to Tacoma. ;)

*Read this in your best valley girl voice* Like OMG a totally full on vegan market. Like OMG so rare. Like OMG so rare as my Unilocal reviews. This place is my heaven. I would drive 2 hours just to get some sweet and sara, «melk» chocolates, and earth balance products. It’s totally like OMG worth it. Funny story bro, like while I was there with my totally hot vegan GF’s, you could totally tell that we’re like not from the area. Taking selfies, taking pics of products, taking our sweet ass time ogling at all the stuff we can’t get up north. Blocking the poor FedEx man trying to deliver more goods, but like we were in awe. We even bumped into a nice lady who also came from Vancouver. Go figure! And this like totally nice lady was giving us recommendations on vegan cheeses and the vegan bacon grease! Like whattt?! How’d you know? Turns out she is part owner of Wallflower. Major vegan street cred, like totally awesome. Anyway, this place is connected with a pig sanctuary! OMG! A great cause, like totally great! So, you can shut up about your stupid bacon for once. *rolls eyes* I’ll gag you with a spoon, a dirty spoon! Seriously, I’m freaking peanut butter and jealous that Seattle has such an awesome store. Wake up Vancouver! Get with the freaking program! Until then, I’ll like drive down with my totally hot vegan GF’s again. Like totally! Dude, no joke!

Vegan Haven is an unassuming gem in Seattle’s U-District! It puts on no frills, and in fact, from the outside, actually looks pretty drab. The inside is a wonderland of all vegan foods and beverages, with some household and beauty products, as well as some books and fashion accessories. Many items are difficult to find elsewhere, even at Whole Foods and Seattle-based PCC. To be a bit more specific about the foods and brands you can find at Vegan Haven: various flavors of Follow Your Heart Veganaise and Daiya cheese; chocolates and candies; Dandies vegan marshmallows; all sorts of Tofurkey items; fresh items for lunch and dinner; non-dairy milks, yogurts, and ice creams; pet food; ethnic cooking sauces; and more. Nearly all of the staff at Vegan Haven are volunteers, and the proceeds from the sales go to Pigs Peace Sanctuary. In fact, Pigs Peace Sanctuary, which is located a good distance away in the rural town of Stanwood, owns Vegan Haven. Vegan Haven is conveniently located within walking distance of a couple of vegan restaurants. It is the only all-vegan store I know of in Washington State. I love knowing that my purchases are helping animals that have been rescued and will live their lives out in peace.

I absolutely love being able to come into this store and buy anything they sell without having to read labels and hunt for hidden ingredients. There is no other place in Seattle or the surrounding area where it is possible to do this and I am eternally grateful for the existence of Vegan Haven. Without them I would be stuck paying expensive shipping fees for products online that may not arrive in their intended condition. Free parking right out front also makes my visit pleasant and easy. Although I have been shopping here since they opened its only gotten better with the expansion. There is so much more room now, which of course equals more vegan goodness. I mostly come for the food products but they sell a ton of other things too, even products for my cats. I am often able to find vegan items that I have not seen in other locations and I love to try new things. I recently attended vegfest and was told that many products would only be available at Vegan Haven which got me motivated to make the trek in. Its a great place to stop off if you need to buy a gift for the vegan/vegetarian person in your life. My non veg boyfriend often accompanies me on my shopping trips and rarely leaves empty handed. I wish he would learn this is a great place to stop off to get me gifts with little effort. Maybe he’ll read this review and figure it out. It is also a great excuse to tie a visit in with a stop off to one of the many vegan eateries also in this neighborhood. I’m dying to try the new Araya location.

As a vegan, living a veganizers lifestyle, this place is more than a vegan haven, it’s a VEGANHEAVEN! When I go to grocery stores, even vegan friendly grocery stores, I always get a little excited to find vegan treasures. This place was like finding the buried treasure at the bottom of the ocean! Soooo many amazing, fun, exciting VEGANTREASURES! vegan smoked salmon, didn’t even know that ISH existed! I kinda had ADD walking around this store. I couldn’t focus on anything for very long before the next amazing thing caught my eye! I could spend hours in here and I probably would have if my friend hadn’t been looking at me like I was crazy for freaking out over every little thing on the shelf. I thought I finally lost it when I found the vegan worcestershire sauce. Did somebody say, bloody mary! In all seriousness, this place really is great. I really wish there were more stores like this around. I love that the proceeds go to a sanctuary and I love that the selection is so eclectic! This is a MUSTSTOP location for any vegan/veggie/animal lover in the Seattle area!
