i purchased a bean bag chair online, and it was out of stock, but they’ve never refunded.

This is a great store. I frequently buy presents for my goddaughter here. One of the gifts I got her(for no reason other than passing through and I thought it would be a good gift) was this toy which was a series of ramps. You’d put a marble at the top, it would roll down and fall through a hole to roll down the next lower ramp(you get the idea). She was two and a few months when I sent this to here. It was a surprise, so I got a call how my goddaughter was enthralled with it, even after an hour. Just a suggestion for those looking for a good present for a child of that age. The toys are on the pricier side, but very good quality.

This store gets a thumbs up for being a great neighborhood toy store and it’s very nice inside. Great selection of toys. But it’s super super expensive and very boutiquish for a toy store. Who can afford those prices in this economy? Also we went to the Moonpaper Tent storytime on Thursday mornings and it’s just bizarre. It’s way over the head of 3 – 4 year olds who were the audience. The guy said words I’d never heard of and certainly not words toddlers would ever use or understand. Most kids just walked away and started playing on their own. The whole imagination«adventure» was weird. We won’t go back. It’s just too out there for little ones. And too out there for me! Really I could make up a better story that toddlers could understand and participate in rather than a far out kookie story. Fantasy and imagination are great, but this was just bizarre. Most kids had no idea what the guy was talking about and I didn’t either. No thanks. Too bad. And also not a good rep for Moonpaper Tent. I was going to go there separately, but we’ll pass.

I am not a parent. Nor am I intending to be a parent. With that being said, Urban Kids Play ROCKS! I love wandering into the store with a cup of joe and perusing the shelves. They stock all kinds of interesting toys, they’re always up on the latest trends. Take for example, the Dump Truck that is made out of recycled milk-jugs. Or the Plan Toys that use recycled wood and natural water-based dyes. I don’t think anything in the store uses batteries or makes annoying noises. The music in the store doesn’t drive you crazy either. All in all, this is a great store! I totally appreciate their initiative to help parents out in this crazy over-stimulated world. Oh and I almost forgot… they have INCREDIBLE service for kids shoes! An entire wall devoted to the best kids shoes on the market, and they let your kids run around the store playing with the toys while you shop! Bottom line: If I had a kid, I wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

I have tons of friends with toddlers. And I have an inner child that celebrates it. I love children and I love to see them enjoying life and learning from experiencing the joy. I believe that toys have a very important part on a child’s educational process. When I’m at a toy store, I spend a long time perusing and looking for the perfect gift, always with that on my mind. And I feel as much happiness getting presents for my borrowed nieces and nephews in Seattle, as they feel when they lay their hands on the pretty but useful gifts! Urban Kids Play is my first choice when it comes to this dear endeavor. For me, handmade translate to toys made with love. Urban Kids Play carry a small but beautiful collection of toys made by artisans. I particularly love a display case where they have wooden animals delicately painted by hand. Just by watching them make me want to have a mini-Dude or Chick pronto! This would be all over his/her nursery, no question about it. They also have a good selection of Plan Toys. These are one of the best examples on how children are honored with wonderful quality products. Plan Toys are all about safety standards and beauty converging. Plus, these toys are environmental friendly and made with nontoxic, organic materials, and look SO cool you will want to collect them. I like them so much I got some for my mini-clients at my studio. They love them! My favorite part, though, is the corner where the Corolle dolls«live». My heart glows at the sight of those soft, exquisite poupées and bébés(and cribs and accessories) I used to play with when I was a little girl. Corolle dolls have been around for a long time, and are so darling I wish I was 3 again… to be able to have them around to play! Whether you want environmentally friendly toys made with love and without dyes, or you need beautiful«touch & feel» books, or a cute, little pair of sandals for the glorious summer to come, Urban Kids Play will have them, neatly stacked up, ready to make a little one very, very happy. As usual, I adore patronizing my neighborhood’s businesses. Coming back to Urban Kids Play to get gifts is always a pleasant experience. They will help you with care, kindness and fabulous attention to detail. ¡Muchas gracias, Urban Kids Play!

Kind of expensive but good, quality clothing, toys, diaper bags, etc. The staff is always very friendly and it looks like they have different, fun programs and activities for families and kids. I went here to find a gift for my friend’s baby shower and walked away a happy camper. Lots of great things — just too expensive for me to buy them all.

A good toy store, not great. It’s sort of a hidden store that you would never notice unless you were going there specifically. It’s a small store with an eclectic collection of toys, clothes, and books for various ages. I was looking for more infant toys and only found a small collection. Though they did carry Kushies which are an über posh but really inventive collection of toys. We indulged. However, getting a stroller in and out will be impossible. So mega point loss for making it hard to actually bring the child in.

Cute, Cute Cute– Love the décor love the cute little house with the porch love the toys. What I did’nt love is owners kids, not that I don’t love kids. It was a bit distracting. They need to find a baby sitter.

I am utterly clueless when it comes to shopping for small children, most likely because I don’t have one — I’m sure I’ll probably end up buying my 5 year old nephew a power drill or something equally age-inappropriate. Which is why I love stores like Urban Kids Play — they have helpful people who can point you in the right direction. I ventured in for the first time(like I said, my toy-shopping needs are few, plus it’s a pretty new shop) a few weeks back to get a birthday gift for a 1 year old. The person who helped me was fantastic — he gathered a wide variety of toys in different price ranges, from which I chose an awesome wooden alligator pull toy for $ 15. A very quick and positive experience. It’s a great, well-lit, colorful store full of cool toys, more along the lines of learning, wooden, and well-made toys than Barbies or Power Rangers. They were getting ready for game night, which sounded like a fun thing to take a kid to. And, the very best thing, while there were kids in the store, no one was screaming or crying — it was great.
