Such a beautiful and delicious neighborhood pastry and lunch shop. So glad we found it! I highly recommend the chocolate fruit pastry. The staff was friendly and even the restroom was precious and clean. Great outdoor seating to people watch.

I took the recommendations and got four kouign Amann. They are not good looking but the taste is astonishing. Great bakery!

Horrible excuse for a French bakery. They are ALWAYS out of things not to mention their pastries taste like jelly filled donuts and dinner rolls.

Stopped in for a coffee and pain au chocolat, for $ 6. FOOD: 4.5. The pain au chocolat was flaky, buttery, and light. Precious. COFFEE: 4.0. Had the medium-roast drip. AMBIANCE: 4.0, with outdoor seating on the front lawn. Animated atmosphere.

Great little bakery and breakfast spot. The café is small, but they have a great little outdoor seating area. It gets cramped as you’re waiting to order but it leaves you plenty of time to browse the desserts and choose some treats to take home for later. Ordered a cappuccino and a brioche breakfast sandwich: field greens, tomato, bacon and a fried egg on brioche. It was warm slightly greasy goodness. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious, thought it was a bit steep at $ 9 for a breakfast sandwich but it was very good. To go ordered a chocolate mousse tart: decadent dark chocolate mousse, raspberry preserves on the bottom to cut through the richness, and a chocolate crust. Also got a lemon meringue tart: wonderfully tart lemon curd and fluffy meringue with a flaky tender crust. Would definitely come back again when in the area.

Delicious pastries, great coffee and excellent hot chocolate. We sat outside in the patio area while birds flitted about gathering crumbs. Staff are very helpful. Our order was given to another customer so an employee brought pain perdu as compensation for our extended wait. A ‘must’ while in Queen Anne.

I’ve been going to this place since I moved to Seattle(2 years). The pastries were delicious and the people very nice. Last year, the service started going downhill. Then, the portion got smaller(I assume to increase profit). Then the quality started going downhill as well. This month, the price went up. My appreciation of the place went from a 5 star to a 3 star, and my frequency of visit will go down. It’s good that a real French bakery opened recently in the neighborhood(Petit Pierre, Magnolia) :)

I’ve been eating breakfast from here almost every day for the past month and a half because I have some complicated stomach problems and their food is literally the only thing that has not hurt my stomach what so ever. Aside from that magical little note, their food is absolutely delicious. I run on sugar and this place is right out of a dream — right when you walk in(if you’re early enough — they get cleaned out!) there’s this huge selection of beautiful little pastries all on display, and on the top of the counter is a display of all these pretty macarons, and then around the corner an even wider array of pastries! I’ve had their different fruit croissants and they are all scrumptious, but lately I’ve been having the Kouign Amann — its buttery goodness keeps me full until around 3PM if I eat one around 7 or 8AM — and for me going through the day with out getting hungry too soon is a major plus! =D The staff are also super friendly and are always willing to answer any questions you have about their baked goods. I always appreciate an open atmosphere and they’ve always answered any of my technical questions about the construction and content of their food. I haven’t had their salads yet, but they do offer them as well as non-sweet menu items. However I have /seen/their salads that others have delivered, and their presentation were gorgeous enough to make me want one of my own. Just an all around wonderful place, and absolutely charming! I highly recommend! =D

Extremely unprofessional. I went in to the Bakery on a Sat afternoon a week before my son’s first birthday party to order 2 cakes. Spent almost 30 minutes going through my options and placing the order. The woman taking my order said the baker will call me on Monday or Tuesday to confirm the order. Tuesday passes and still no call. I left multiple messages on Wednesday and Thursday, but still no call back. I finally left a message saying that if my call wasn’t returned by Friday morning(my son’s party was Sat), I’d have to find another bakery… STILLNOCALLBACK! In fact, I never received a call saying that my cakes were ready or that they even had my order despite all my messages. So, I went to another bakery(Byen Bakeri — amazing btw) and they were able to fill my order on short notice. But the kicker in all of this is that I then get two calls back on Monday of the following week saying I never picked up my cakes and they were wondering if I’d come in and pick them up! The nerve!!! If you need cakes and want to have to peace of mind that they will get done — don’t go here!

It’s weekend, it’s sunny, you’re hungry. What to do, where to go? If you’re into fine french pastries and sitting outside in the sun«Le Rêve Bakery & Café» is the right place for you! They offer a huge selection of pastries, different sandwiches, quiches, fresh juices, chocolate, coffee and much more! Just order at the counter, find a nice place to sit and enjoy your life and the great food they create there! This place is definitely one of my favorites in town! They also offer take-out, so great to take some treats home or for a picknick! To sum it up: + great location + excellent food! + friendly employees + good vibes all the way + street parking nearby + patio is pet-friendly + take-out + french food that’s pretty authentic! Plus, I love the neighborhood with all the lovely houses, nicely done gardens, small shops and friendly people.

Their name means«The Dream» and they did not disappoint. Their pastries are so crispy and flaky on the outside and on the inside they are tender and soft beyond belief. They are known for their twice-baked chocolate croissant, but their Kouign Amann was the best I’ve ever had. Everything looks beautiful, and the shop itself is lovely.

I looooove love love this place! Mostly their kouign amann($ 5) and raspberry crowns($ 4). It’s a little pricey but it’s my favorite thing ever. Kouign Amann — if you haven’t had it, you must try it. It’s basically a caramelized croissant. Some other bakeries also carry kouign amanns but the ones at La Reve are my favorite. The top part is flaky and crisp while the bottom is dense and custardy — it’s almost like two pastries! It’s also very filling if you eat the whole thing by yourself. Best if shared. Raspberry Crown — it seems like the kouign amann but with fresh raspberries and raspberry preserve in the center. It’s more of the light and flaky business and less of the rich, heavy bottom. The raspberries are a perfectly bright foil to the richness of the pastry. Also can’t go wrong with their other items. But I tend to come here solely for kouign amann since it can be a trek to get out to Queen Anne!

It sounds like the pastries our the way to go here. I had a baguette sandwich and for the price it’s so little. I kept thinking maybe they gave me a half sandwich on mistake? Because how could 5 inches of bread be the full size when it’s 10.99? And what’s the half size then? Just a rip off for 2 pieces of meat and some toppings. Also the bread was not good, like it tasted like a 2 day old Safeway baguette– dry and hard. Ya know when you cut bread but wait like 20 minutes to use it and you lose the softness where it was cut? That’s what it was like! Maybe they toasted before topping or it was just 2 day old bread. I feel like France would be really disappointed. Bakery nouveau sandwiches blow them out of the water. They were really friendly inside though!

I remember when I met you. It was a warm, late summer day and you were the perfect host. Quiet, charming, relaxed. You had an unassuming appearance, but I was quickly surprised by your sweet gestures. And that’s when I first fell in love. ;) La Reve, you have stolen my heart! This bakery has quickly become one of my favorite cafes in Queen Anne. With a patio that’s open during the summer, La Reve is the perfect spot for any occasion — dates, studying, meetings and so on. I’m a sucker for baked goods and can be quite indecisive, especially with such a wide variety at La Reve! But everyone working there has been very personable and great with recommendations. While the twice-baked almond croissant is my favorite, I’d say you should get a few different treats to try. If you can’t finish them in one go, I’ve found that the pastries are still good the next day. :) Prices are pretty typical for a specialty bakery, with each pastry roughly at around $ 4 each. Also, as the bakery is right off of Queen Anne Ave, you can find parking spots right along the block if you’re lucky, but if not, you’ll have to make do with street parking. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area — you won’t be disappointed!

Came in here for a surprise birthday brunch after returning from Europe. Oh my the baked goodies! How to choose! The veggie quiche and turkey crêpe were good. The overall atmosphere is homey. Can’t wait for the summer to enjoy some comfy outdoor seating to take in the Queen Ann scene while enjoying some Parisian influenced goodies. I’ve always walked by this place and finally gave it a try and was not disappointed. Definitely coming back!

This is must do breakfast place in Seattle. We were visiting from California and I made some research before I choose this bakery. First, the building itself is very pretty, street is beautiful too with the old church right across the street. Feels like a little part of Europe. Second — the pastries!!! Omg these are truly delicious! I had ham and cheese croissant, my husband– bacon and cheese croissant, kids — chocolate croissants and some other pastry. The dough for croissants is so good! The best I’ve ever had before. For desserts we had eclairs, merengue pie, tarts with fruits, cream puffs. Delicious!!!

They are well known for their kouign amann which pretty much sell out by noon. That and a perfectly dry cappucino just made my day. The service is not the most friendly but their food is super on-point. They also do macarons, all sorts of french pastries as well as warm sandwiches. Must try if you are in in Queen Anne area.

Got the fruit pastry and it had one of the best croissant dough pastry based I’ve had — crispy, flaky, buttery, but not dry at all. Pear was nice and light, not overly sweet. It came out to $ 4+ after tax, but it truly is a great quality pastry. Not a lot of room in the shop — it’s a little cozy

Ok, I need help. DONOT come in here hungry… you will wind up with three different pastries on your plate like I did. The pear danish, the blueberry and cheese crossiant, the heavenly apple muffin thing. OMG. Literally everything here is good. You walk into a calm and inviting atmosphere that smells like you have died and gone to baker heaven. Everyone is super nice and they are happy to explain what is what and even how it was made! Yes, they actually make everything fresh and onsite! The pastries are sweet, with a perfect balance of fruit or dough that makes them good for any level of sweet tooth. If you don’t know about the levels of sweet tooth, come in and try a few different things, you will see what I mean! :) I will come with a friend next time and get a few different pastries and split them so I don’t gain five pounds on my next trip. Their esspresso is good but come for the bites, they are like no other!

I’m a sucker for cute little bakery/patisseries, so when I discovered this little adorable gem on Unilocal,I had to try it out. I’ve been twice now. The old house turned business is super cute. I love the atmosphere and warmth of this place. The staff have been friendly and talkative with me/us both visits, and the desserts are AMAZING! My friend also got the le gobbler sandwich and thought it was pretty delicious. I’ve had a savory baked item and 3 different desserts, and I loved all of them. On a pretty day it is so gorgeous outside in the little garden area. I can’t wait to go back and I recommend it for sure.

I was sure I had already reviewed the all holy pastry that is the kouign amann here, but apparently not. Le Reve is the perfect adorable date, brunch, coffee with friends, bring your mom, bring your out of town guests… I could go on. This is a very nice spot with patio seating in the sun out front, easy parking, and plenty of seating inside. They do brunch every day, which is great for a weekend worker like myself. I’ve been here for a baby shower in their space upstairs(adorable and wonderful), on dates, and finally most recently with my sister and son. The staff is so nice, even when they have to remake a soy latte your kid stuck his finger into because the latte art was so good he thought it was made of wood. We shared a kouign amann, C had a mini cheesecake, I had the quiche Lorraine and my sis opted for the omelette of the day, a caramelized onion, ham, and feta. The kouign amann wasn’t as salty as I remember(sad day!), but it was crisp and buttery on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside. The omelette was probably the star of the order– eggs fluffy, filling plentiful, came with roasted red potatoes and a couple pieces of fruit. My quiche was also delicious– the eggs weren’t too cream-based, but were fluffy, there was plenty of ham and onion. My only complaint was crust– it was probably whole wheat and really thin. :( C’s mini cheesecake was adorable– topped with a roasted marshmallow, graham cracker crumbs, chocolate sauce, and Le Reve’s logo in edible chocolate. A cup of coffee, iced americano(12 oz) and kid’s vanilla milk set me back $ 30 before tip. Win!

The parking: annoying. The line: chaotic and out the door. The menus: placed so you only see them at the front of the line. Choose quickly! The price: more than you expect. Tipping: done on an ipad before you’re served. Even though it’s just counter service, tip 15% or everyone behind you will judge. The coffee: dirty mug, out of both self serve pots. The table: dirty; it’s a bus-it-yourself place in spite of restaurant prices and restaurant tipping. Anyways, it’s crowded and you feel lucky to even get a seat. The cake: stale. The danish: surprisingly good! The omelette: bland. The taste breakfast at La Reve left in my mouth: bad. And chalky.
