Tropical Tan

My dermatologist recommended I tan a few times a month to help my skin so I was going to a place on crown hill wasn’t real stoked on it. Idrove by this place and decided to give it a try. Despite it’s location and outward appearance it is a great joint, friendly staff, clean bed and rooms, all around good experience.

Have been tanning at tropical tan since 2009. I first tanned at the lake city location but moved up to the north Seattle location back in 2012. I love the ladies at the salon really knowledgeable and helpful. The beds are nice and clean.

I love the ultra and red light beds. Super good selection of beds and lotions. And I love the teeth whitening product! Always friendly

I was new to tanning when I first came in, but the staff here were very helpful and friendly. I explained that my physician had recommended tanning to counteract my annual Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and guess what? It works like a charm :) The beds and lobby are always clean and I will keep frequenting this establishment.

I signed up for the 2 month deal. I cancelled the membership way before it was due to cancel. I got charged for 2 more months. I went in person to cancel and they told me the manager will give me a call. NEVER heard back from the manager. I submitted the paperwork to cancel and went in person. I would NOT recommend signing up for this membership. POOR customer service and NO follow up from the manager, yet I was charged 2 more months and probably will keep getting charged until I cancel my credit card !!!

I seriously love this location. I went in a couple daya ago to unfreeze my account, and I had a lot of difficult requests. I had to freeze my account due to getting a tattoo, but I was told the $ 5/​month I was being charged would be given to me as a credit when I reactivated my account. Apparently this is easier said than done, but the girl there was soooo nice and helpful. I highly recommend anyone who’s starting out to go here because they work with you and answer all your questions! I love tropical tan!

Friendly staff and helpful for tanning amateurs. :) never had to wait more then 2 minutes to go into a bed. always clean and good variety of beds, stand up, lay down, and turn! Lots of lotions and Great prices for

I have been tanning at tropical tan on and off for over 10 years. I originally have gone to the Queen Anne location and loved all of the people that have worked there!
I recently moved and the north seattle location is more convenient for me now, and I have not been pleased at all! I have tried to tan in the mornings on more than 4 occasions at 9am when they are «open» and not only have they not been open but I have waited for more than 5 min and still are not open and had to leave.
I have been told and was under the impression that it was always a first come first serve kind of place which is perfectly fine with me. Tonight I walked in, requested the bed that I wanted to use and was told that the woman behind me called in and held the bed. If it is a first come first serve business then the rules need to be implicated! Not only was I not offered another bed, but the girl at the front seat looked at the other woman and told her that her bed was ready.
I have now canceled my membership, and will be going somewhere else. It’s too bad, good luck to you tropical tan!

I’ve been going to Tropical Tan off and on for 7 years and even though this location is slightly smaller than some of the others, the people who work there provide amazing service. Rachel, Bailey and Daphne are super friendly, organized and are always helpful in making sure I get the best deal when I renew my package each month. Thanks guys! — Susan Kelley

I have been a loyal customer of the North Seattle Tropical Tan location for over three years! The staff at this location are helpful and friendly and the tanning beds and rooms are kept clean and tidy. They have great prices and great service. I look forward to going tanning there as often as I possibly can, as it is relaxing and energizing at the same time. I wouldn’t go tanning anywhere else!

The pricing can be a bit weird without a Groupon but they have many packages. Service is good and not too bad as far as beds.. Not a 5 star tanning experience but it gets the job done.

I’ve been going to this tanning salon off and on for about 3 years, and I thought I would write a review, as I am a fan :)
As far as tanning salons go, this place is just what you need: fair prices, nice selection of beds and lotions, and friendly staff. The manager, Cailtyn, is very friendly and knowledgable. They are currently undergoing a renovation and it’s looking great so far! I went in the other day and the bed I normally tan in was in use and the other was being worked on, so they gave me a free upgrade to use a different bed so I wouldn’t have to wait — great customer service!
I really like this salon, and while there are plenty of others to visit in the area, I always end up back at this one.

Just started to get my tan on for an upcoming trip. Though you have the usual young college girls working there, they are super friendly and helpful.
Great deals, and they have a variety of beds, with the basic beds being decently powerful– they also have beds with facial tanners, standups, and spray.
Though it seems like a small, quaint place… well, it is. But they have plenty of beds. The only thing is I wish they had mirrors in the rooms.
This place is really close to home, so I have a choice of making an appointment or just showing up. And they are totally understandable of my ever-​changing schedule.
Definately a great place, can’t think of anything negative except not having the mirrors.
