Awesome fabric and notions store. I felt like I had stepped into a textile shop in the heart of Manhattan’s Garment District — except the owner(Tina) was WAY more helpful! This is definitely my favorite fabric shop.

I am inspired every time I wander into Tina’s. I feel like I’m 12 again and playing with my sewing mother’s fabrics and notions. What Tina brings is a deep love and commitment to the art and craft of sewing. She also follows the trends and always has creative ideas on how to make something inexpensive and fabulous. I stopped in before my birthday this year and she had beautiful fabrics cut with one slit down the center and showed me how to make a scarf, shawl and top out of one piece of gorgeous silver ruffled fabric. Then we played with some black lace and I made it into a belt for the top. A new outfit for less than $ 30 was born! Tina is a treasure and I hope she remains open for many more years.

Tina’s On Madison, the candy-store for serious fabric hunters everywhere! And by hunt, I do mean Hunt. By the time I adjusted to the overwhelming ambience of the place — rolls and rolls and rolls and rolls of great fabric leaning everywhere — in no particular order or sorting method what-so-ever — I eventually relaxed and got into some enjoyable browsing. If you are looking for a special fabric, this is your place. There is so much here you will feel unsure if you will ever navigate through everything but don’t give up. Tina is there to assist and she knows where everything is to the smallest detail and can help you find anything for any project. For those of us who have had the pleasure of shopping at Tina’s, we know we will be back because we know a good fabric store when we see it.

Tina was so incredibly helpful and the selection there is great with a lot of fancier options as well as fun casual options. She helped me pick out all of the tools I need to get started on my project and had a lot of great suggestions and tips for me as I am a beginner. She even offered to to help if I have any questions once I got my project started. This is so much better than trekking across town to Joanns where youre just a number. Easy parking in this neighborhood as well.

Tina’s is one of those awesome secrets a city shouldn’t keep. All serious sewers need to know about this place! Crammed full of fabrics and trims, the tiny shop is a treasure trove. You can find gorgeous special occasion fabrics, tassel/bead trim, upholstery fabrics… anything sumptuous or gorgeous… piled high pretty much everywhere. Since what she carries is mostly quality, higher end stuff, be prepared to spend a little more than what you would at a chain store. Keep in mind that what she sells is absolutely worth what she charges. This isn’t stuff you’ll be disappointed in later. Dressmakers will love her selection. Tina herself is a joy — a bright spirit, knowledgeable about fabric and sewing. She’s great! Check store hours before you head over. You might also give her a quick call to make sure she’s there. She occasionally steps out for a bit.

Fve years ago when my daughter got engaged, she worked in the Madison Park neighborhood. She happened into Tina’s one day and found the fabric she wanted for her wedding gown. I went back with her to buy it and was totally charmed. This shop is the Olivander’s(Harry Potter reference) of Fabric shops. Bolts piled high and crammed to the gills! But Tina knows where every bolt is and can find just what you need. We bought the needed yardage and Tina through in a few beautiful beaded trim samples for our consideration. When I went to pay, I was intrigued as I watched her figure out the total by hand on a paper towel and then take my credit card and manually run it through the familiar sliding credit card imprinter of my youth. The place appears incredibly disorganized(and I would hate to be caught in there during a fire), but it has an old fashioned charm and great customer service. A few weeks ago my daughter and I were shopping in the neighborhood(we are both east-siders) and wanted to say hi to Tina and show off my daughter’s new baby. But the shop was closed that day, so we were unable to pay a call.

Wow! All I can say is Wow! This is one of those places you have to experience. Tina has been here 27 years, she is really a sweet lady and she loves fabric and she loves to chat about fabric! This is definitely a digger’s paradise, and you can uncover some gems here for sure. She’s a little bit pricier than JoAnn’s with a 40% off coupon, but sometimes you just want to feel special, like you are a real person type customer instead of #54 from the ticket taker. If you look closely it may seem a little chaotic but she has ribbons set right up against fabrics and voila — you realize they go together and it’s not by accident. This place is now on my rotation list!

This store looks like a tornado went through it and I love it! I’m not big on fabrics and such, but my girlfriend brought me here to get a new needle for her sewing machine. Tina has all sorts of quality fabrics laying out all over the place in no particular order. She is a sweet lady and it’s worth a visit to her store just to chat with her.
