This place is incredibly simple but does what it does really well. We had a margherita pizza, pickled veggies, caesar salad, focaccia, and beer. Service is minimal but fast, not great for atmosphere, but the food is delicious and well-priced and the beer selection is wide and thoughtfully chosen. Specific food review: *Pizza — crust was light and airy but crispy — really good. A bit over-salted. Sauce was perfect and fresh — I mopped up every bit. *Salad — best caesar dressing I’ve had *Pickled veggies and focaccia were also great — not as stand out as the salad and pizza *Their beer buyer is great — nice selection, huge tap list, great if you love good beer

This place is amazing. First time in Seattle, we went out and find this amazing little place. Although it is pretty small, the beer selection is he great and plenty(ask for recommendations). As for the food, you cannot go wrong for with pizza but the thing that blew us away were the meatballs. They are soft, cooked to perfection with a great sauce. Definitely worth trying out.

If you’re looking for some local flavor and awesome pizza, this is the spot. The entire place only seats about 25 people, the menu(apparently) changes frequently, and the guys seem to really care about the food, the beer, and making sure you’re happy. I had a Caesar salad and a Pilsner to start. The salad was pretty good and pretty simple. The beer was tasty and cold. The real prize was the Sausage Pizza — house made sausage, fresh dough, just enough cheese. Delicious. It’s a little expensive, all things considered. My meal with tip came in just over $ 30($ 6 beer, $ 6 Caesar salad, $ 14 pizza, tax, tip…). Still worth it.

Great atmosphere — local, mellow and awesome staff. The beers are great and the pizza is ok. It’s wood fired — but I didn’t really detect any wood flavor and my pizza got pretty limp after about a minute. I expect that from a Neapolitan style crust — but I think this could have been a bit crisper. Overall — I’m being picky — come here and enjoy the vibe — I’ll be back.

This place is legit for food and beer. The pizza was incredible. Someone told us they have the best meatballs they’ve ever had and they were right, they are the best. Also, the tap list is one of the best with great variety and an extensive bottle selection. Happy hour menu and prices are good. I’d be short changing this review if I didn’t say that the vibe was really chill with great vinyl spinning and the staff was knowledgable and very friendly.

Love this place! The vibe is low key and chill. The food is amazing. Pizzas are delicious and the meatballs are a masterwork! If you’re in the neighborhood, come here!!!

I love having Masonry in the neighborhood. The pizzas are always tasty, but don’t skip the beer mussels or clams. Also an extensive beer selection with options that are unique to me. I enjoy the music as much as the food. Cozy hangout.

Totally LOVED this place! I don’t know if I was extra-hungry last night, or what, but… Man! I sure enjoyed the meal! Hubby liked it a lot, too. The Hubs ordered the Caesar Salad, and it was the best Caesar I’ve ever had — anywhere! I couldn’t stop stealing bites from him. We also got an order of meatballs. Delicious. Really tender, but not falling-apart. They have a spicy kick that doesn’t hit your palate immediately. The sauce didn’t seem that spicy though, just the meatballs. And after our pizza arrived, we dipped the pizza«bones» into the sauce, which was a bonus. We ordered one of the seasonal pizzas: Roasted Lamb Shoulder pizza. It was unusual. I wasn’t sure about it on the first bite, but after taking a few bites, I was into it. Hubby liked it too, although I would say that he didn’t love it. Not sure he would order it again, although I would, but not until I’ve had a chance to try their other pizzas. I really liked the crust. It was stretched thin, but the bottom crust wasn’t crackling-crisp. In fact, it wasn’t crisp at all, which is fine with me, but some people might not like such a limp bottom crust. The edge, though, was really good: not too thick, but thick enough to get that pillowy softness that is so delightful; and a little yeasty but not aggressively so. The pizza oven is wood-fired so you get hints of that charred flavor. They didn’t over-sauce the pizza either — an all-too-common error, IMO. We really wanted to try the bread pudding, but we just ran out of time(we had theater tickets). Hubby got a specialty beer, and loved it. Our waiter was superb(didn’t catch his name). The atmosphere is very unassuming and unpretentious, down to earth and casual, warm and familial, and it wasn’t that loud which is nice because sometimes I can get really bothered by noise. They were playing John Lee Hooker(vinyl LP!) on a record player, complete with skipping(loved it). When we arrived it was already dark outside, and we couldn’t see a sign on the front of the building, so I guess you just have to locate it using the address(there was only a sandwich board on the sidewalk«WOODFIREDPIZZABEER»). Listen to me… GOHERE! You will not be sorry. We are coming back for sure.

Sausage pizza was fine. Mushroom did not do it for me, cheese was not what I expected. Service was very nice and friendly. Cool atmosphere.

I can’t rave enough about how awesome this place is. They always have friendly and nice service, great variety of beer, they play the games, the food is phenomenal. I love the margarita pizza and have not found a better one anywhere! Meatballs were so good! Come earlier for more seating options.

I am going to resist the urge to call this place«Hole in the wall». As many people may. For anyplace that offers such an incredible array of beers stands head and shoulders above a mere«Hole in the wall». Although I will admit, that in the final minutes of downtown Seattle rush hour, I did drive by it twice. It is a terribly simple and small place. Barely a dozen tables, one of which is a long, wooden table that basically splits the place in half. It also, due to the lack of space, forces you to enjoy your dinner in a communal setting. If you are unfortunate enough to get there after all the other tables are gone. I will give the devote a few thumbs up. They were spinning vinyl which is ridiculous but kinda retro cool. And, there is this huge window that slides open and faces the street. To sit there and watch the city go by is very welcome. Now to the pie(Pizza) that I’m sorry to say was not the star of the show. I had the roast lamb shoulder pie with roasted tomatoes, shallots, mint basil pesto and mizithra. I found the dough wasn’t oiled or seasoned. I thought the cheese seemed kind of «Kraft-ish» and was just underwhelmed with it. However, leave it to the beer Gods to save the night. As I said, the selection of craft beers here are incredible but, I am a stout man and it’s that time if year. I had the North Coast Barrel Rasputin. With an alcohol count of 11.5% and costing about $ 21 per challis, it was definitely the highlight of the night. Again, I am not knocking this place and I am sure with time, they will get that pie(Pizza) thing down to a science. The people were cool, the atmosphere was very laid back and I love that big ass window.

This place was so chill! We went while we were on vacation! I know if we lived here we would hang out here a lot! This pizza was great and I love that the bartender was friendly and told us about local Seattle beers! I really wanted the beer glass with their logo on it and turns out they sell them! Great souvenir for our trip. Loveeeee the music selection. Made me want to live here.

Handmade with love. Wood fired pizza. When I’m looking for the comfort of soft bread and complex flavors I stop in here. Order a hard cider, whatever pizza they are featuring and if anything else catches my eye, that also… Gnocchi isn’t always a great choice. The people here are true to their industry, they are kind, informative and always present. It was a great night at Masonry; clam, pleasant and delicious. Thanks.

Great spot for a beer! Or if you’re looking for a small and quick bite to eat. The food menu had about 7 items on their to choose from total. But the beer list must of had over 100 different crafts to choose from. Not sure if the food menu was smaller because of it being happy hour, but it was very limited. The best thing we had was by far the meatballs. We also ordered the focaccia bread and the mushroom pizza. It is a pizza spot but the pizza was just okay. Definitely would not go back if I was in the mood for a reallyyyy good pizza. The plus was everything tasted fresh and tasted like it was made from scratch.

I really, really wanted to like this place because it had good reviews and it’s a cute spot. We ordered the truffle mushroom pizza, and it was baaaad. I mean, really bad. So bad that even though we were starving we didn’t eat much of it. We gave the leftovers to a homeless man outside and even he wouldn’t eat it… seriously! I don’t know if it was just a fluke or what, or if we ordered like the worst pizza they have… but it was like alllll garlic… huge chunks of garlic. More garlic than mushrooms. Also, the cheese was burnt. So all you could taste was burnt pizza and garlic. It was pretty much the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Still 2 stars because the place was so cute.

We had a great night here when up visiting our son at UW. The staff is outstanding — helpful and friendly, and love the décor — including the pizza oven seemingly in the middle of the restaurant! Amazing beer selection — approximately the length of «War And Peace» and super interesting. And just cannot say enough about the pizza — we tried the Margherita, and the sausage and were blown away! THIS is great pizza! We will definitely be back!

Good thing we had our thinking caps on to come by here for dinner. It’s a small restaurant, with a few tables, a large community table, some outside seating and a comfy bar area. Cool relaxed vibe inside. We sat at the bar, the bartender was super friendly & nice. We decided to start off with a Caeser salad which was nice, enjoyed the shaved slices of parmesan on top, perfect size to share. Also, we got an order of the meatballs: you get 4 good sized meatballs in a tasty marinara sauce. Meatball was super moist, soft, flavorful, the sauce was delicious and perfect for dipping your pizza crust in it. Lastly, we also got the mushroom pizza: delicious mushrooms, nice cracker like crust, well cooked, nice melty cheese right out of the pizza oven, its nice you can see them prepare each pizza to order. Great selection of beers, we sampled a few cool looking ones and ended up getting a blueberry beer. what??? Whatever, it was tasty! We totally killed our meal and enjoyed every gluttonous moment! They have a nice simple menu, nicely prepared food, open kitchen, and especially tasty food! Great neighborhood spot!
