Hoping to find a good pizza and 1 ½ blocks from my house. Could not get waited on at the bar. 4 people at the bar and my friend and I at a table. They had better get some help We walked and went to Nabob’s where the service was amazing with 1 bartender and many more people in the bar. Food was great. To bad Mario’s, thought I would find a place to bring friends.

The best pizza in Seattle by far. Fun, relaxed atmosphere. One of me and my husbands go to places.

Good pizza, awful service. They’ll randomly decide what they’re willing to provide and how to provide it, then be jerks when you call them on it.

I ordered a Cheese pie and a Sausage Mushroom Pie for Delivery: The Good: Pizza here within 30min Price $ 21 Sauce was much better than tomato paste! The not so good Very thin on the sausage and mushroom pie. We got a good laugh at a couple slices that were 75% sauce and the cheese, sausage and mushroom no where to be found Crust 80% burnt on the bottom of the pepperoni pizza and kids wouldn’t eat it! Kids do suck some times and to be fare I ate it. I could see these ratings hitting much higher if I were drunk.

My first experience here was quite a subtle delight! I walked by several times and have seen the front seating area but today was surprised to find out there is a bit of seating in the back. I quickly found myself a seat with PBR and a slice of pizza. The slices are huge and the crust is cooked perfectly. I prefer a little bit more cheese on my pizza but I think for this place the amount was fitting. Two large TV screens played Bill Murray movies and the volume of the music was low enough I could enjoy my conversation. So thankful to have found a good pizza place in my neighborhood!

Big Mario’s has had a location up on Capitol Hill for quite awhile now but I have been reluctant to go because of crowds and parking and just a lack of general knowledge of the place altogether. Enter, Big Mario’s location number 2 now in lower Queen Anne. As an Über driver, I’ve brought a lot of people to and from this location and since it is more convenient and the parking isn’t a nightmare, I decided to finally give them a try. I mean heck, I have been looking for a good pizza joint that served New York style pizza and my standards for my pizza are really high when compared to the average person. What I mean by that is I won’t order from places like Pizza Hut or Dominoes because even though it’s pizza, it’s horrible and I don’t like horrible food. Pizza is a simple food and because of the simplicity, the elements must be correct. The dough must be made correctly and give you a crunch as well as be chewy. The sauce is a huge component of any pizza and should taste fresh and well seasoned. 100% real cheese is a must and fresh cured meats and sliced veggies are of utter importance as well. Not that this is news to most of you. One of the alluring aspects of Big Mario’s is that they stay open until 2:00am so when I am out driving for a living, it’s easy to swing by and grab a slice or two. Working graveyard doesn’t give me many opportunities to go in and sit down to eat so I really appreciate places that stay open late. They have three pizzas that they keep on hand for selling slices. Cheese, pepperoni and their Special Sicilian. You can build your own full size pie but you cannot alter the slices. I did the math and one slice of pepperoni which is roughly the size of ¼ of a large pizza cost $ 3.50 so if you were to buy four slices of pepperoni separately, it would cost you $ 14.00 plus tax. To purchase a whole pepperoni pizza would cost you $ 18.99 for the basic cheese and an extra $ 2.50 for the pepperoni so for the same amount of pizza, the total would be $ 21.49 plus tax. Something fishy to me in that equation but if you have to pay $ 7.00 for the box, the pizza must be that good. I enjoy their pizza too. Every time that I’ve gone in, the pre-made pizza’s have sat for a bit and so when they throw them in the oven to warm them back up, they get a little extra crispy. I like my pizza on the well done side but I hope to get in one time when the pie is fresh out of the oven and the crust isn’t so well done. One day I will order a whole pie but until then, the slices are satisfying. Thanks for reading.

The best addition to my neighborhood. 1. The pizza is good and you can get slices! 2. THESTAFFARETHEBEST. Seriously, every person who works here is the nicest, and their energy is really good. 3. Hours: you can get pizza after 11pm which I am super into as a night owl 4. Ambiance. Real nice in there. Great collection of DVDs. Good red lights. 5. Prices: real good, won’t break the bank. 6. Location. It’s so close to my house and I wake up wanting pizza every day for breakfast. Marios, I love you so.

We went here for dinner tonight to grab some slices because we felt like quick pizza. The folks at Big Mario’s are very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is casual, nothing too fancy but perfect for a pizza place. We got a few slices. The Spicoli was my favorite but that’s probably because I always love pineapple on my pizza. We also got the pepperoni, the potato pesto and the plain cheese. All the pizzas tasted nice but the single biggest problem that I had with them all were that they were extremely greasy. The pepperoni were grease cups and the plain cheese was oozing oil over and they all needed 5 – 6 paper napkins per slice to soak up enough grease to make them edible. Not bad as a typical New York style pizza, thin crust that they will crisp up for you on request but too greasy for my liking. Might go back here some day or order the large 18″ pizzas at work but not a place I would frequent.

Is it just me, or is the pepperoni pizza here the best in town? I’ve always associated NY style pizza with greasy, crappy slices that can’t be picked up their so soggy. But Marios corrected my wrong assumptions. The crust is thin and crispy, letting you est more of the good stuff. The Sicilian is also awesome. It’s the cheapest dinner around, and dang good too.

Their crust is amazing! I want the crust recipe and then I’ll be a billionaire! The best thing about this place is for sure the pizza. It’s somewhat small. The bar area is dimly lit and they show vhs movies. About 8 taps that are not exciting. Not a huge fan of the décor. I’m sure it’s authentic NYC pizza restaurant or some shit but it doesn’t do it for me. Try it for the pizza!

This place makes me feel like I’m not cool enough to eat pizza. On my last visit, we sat at a table in the back area and went up to the bar to order drinks and ask for a menu. After getting drinks we asked to order, and were told to wait… Which obviously is fine, but got uncomfortable after he bussed a table(despite it having been the only other occupied table other than us), asked the other four people at the bar if they were«still doing alright» and puttered around behind the bar wiping a counter or two before eventually yelling out over the bar to ask what we wanted. Was he hoping we would leave? We were about to, it felt really bizarre. The service improved after we got our pizza and he was an attentive and nice dude overall so it was a confusing night. The pizza is good, the spicoli is amazing and I generally hate pineapple! Next time, I’ll just take a slice to go.

Big slices by surface area! Good crust and tasty sauce. I could have used more actual topping quantity(by volume), but maybe this is what’s meant by NY Style Pizza? I’m just a Seattleite who likes to eat a lot: my large torso is Exhibit A, so I would have liked more topping and sauce. Also, curiously they have arugula but not spinach? I’m super glad to have Big Mario’s in the neighborhood, though I’m hoping that having«Pull-Tabs» printed on the window is trying to be either throw-back or ironic.

Big Mario’s New York Style Pizza is really popular on Capitol Hill and they have recently opened a new location on Queen Anne. WELCOMETOTHEHOODBIGMARIO’S! We are really excited to have another pizza option, especially in a strategically located Lower Queen Anne location next to the Great Nabob, Crow, and Caffe Vita on 5th Ave N. I have never had Big Mario’s on Capitol Hill before, but my husband works downtown and he says this is a popular pizza place to order from so we were both really excited to try it. We reviewed their website and decided to get the pear gorgonzola pizza they have, and created a pizza with pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, and jalapenos. Surprisingly, I feel like it’s difficult to find jalapenos as an offering on pizzas so we were very excited by this. I called to place the order for pick up because we live so close. This was a Friday night around 8pm call I made and the guy that answered was very friendly. He was that really laid back friendly, like«oh dude a pepperoni, olive, mushroom, jalapeño pizza sounds awesome man, and you’re gonna have the best night man!» and then I told him I wanted a pear gorgonzola pizza as well and he was like«DUDE, YOUAREINFORTHEBESTNIGHTEVER.» So his bro-iness was hilarious and he was very friendly. He told us the pizza would be ready in about 40 minutes. It would take like 5 minutes to go to their location from where we are on Upper Queen Anne, so we kinda moseyed around by going to QFC and grabbing chips and other non-essentials then we went to grab the pizza. The area it is located in doesn’t have private parking, but parking is rarely an issue if you are just stopping quickly to pick up. It’s a different story if you’re looking to sit down and dine, which seems like it is possible. The store front looks like it’s just a little rinky dink joint with very limited dining space, but once I was inside and was paying, I noticed there was a decently sized space behind the cashier where people seemed to be eating and possibly drinking. For my two pizzas it was about $ 55, so keep that in mind that this isn’t your average cheap-o pizza. The pizzas are huge, and the toppings wonderful. It was a great experience!

This is your typical pizza dive joint with slices or whole pies available and a bar in the back. Its pretty divey considering they just opened but hey, that’s what they are going for but if you are looking for upscale then look somewhere else. Their pizza is on the salty side so will require an alcoholic beverage to wash it down. Its your typical pizza with typical toppings and typical service. I might come out here if i’m in the area but they again… I live right across from Roccos which I like a lot more.

Many A time I have been to Big Mario’s in Capitol Hill drunkinly and thought damn that pizza is good. Well they heard my sober prayers and opened one in Queen Ann, just a few blocks from my office! A few coworkers and I went on their opening day, walked in and and sadly found out that it was only for the press! However, one of their owners, Jason Lajeunesse, was kind enough to offer us to stay, enjoy the free pizza and drinks! This level of service has been the norm every time we have been there since(aka 3x a week) Pizza is great, always a new flavor with multiple to choose from and can buy by the slice. Additionally, they have side salads and calzones! In the back they have a full bar and are always playing an 80s movie during lunch which is awesome! Plus for anyone who lives in lower Queen Ann and would prefer not to walk they do deliver and check out their cool ride! Thank you for a new lunch spot, we all fully enjoy :)

Yes! Just what LQA needed! Love the pepperoni pizza(they use the little, spicy pepperonis), and their calzone is off the charts good(it’s not on the menu board, but ask for it!). This really rounds out the neighborhood, it is great to be able to be able to grab a slice without having to go to the other side of LQA ;) The pizza slices are definitely thin, crispy, and HUGE. Only a few beers on tap, but the right beers to pair with pizza. Well done!

Came in on their second night, and the bar was packed! Literally couldn’t get a seat. But, plenty of room in the quiet front area. Their pizza has a very thin and crispy crust — if that’s your kind of pie, they do it well! I’d say it’s a cross between NY and Neopolitan style. The best part was the super friendly staff. To be honest I was expecting rude, couldn’t-care-less hipsters behind the counter based on my experiences on Cap Hill. These were very nice and helpful hipsters. :D Happy to have Mario’s as new neighbors — this side of Queen Anne really needed them! The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because it isn’t «oh-my-god-this-pizza-is-life-changing-good.» But it’s tasty, and you’ll have a good time hanging out here.

SO Excited that Mario’s has come to one of my fave neighborhoods! Checked it out today, and same delicious pizza with a comfortable space I can bring all 3 kids in the front– and then a great bar for hanging out in the back. My kids never like the same thing, so getting pizza by the slice is ideal for us. All of the elements that make Mario’s the best pizza in town with a Queen Anne vibe.
