Richard has been Cutting Carter’s hair since he was 6(now he’s 10) and he won’t go anywhere else! I like that he talks to the kids and is genuinely interested in what they have to say and gives a great haircut — thanks Richard!

Richard is the man, definitely old school. Reiner G.‘s review from 8÷8÷14 is way off, he must have had a friend fill in that day!

Terrible place. Lazy, rude etc. walked there to get a hair cut, it was raining. When I walked in the guy barely looked up from his tv. I asked if he had an opening and he said«yes, but you’re going to get everything all wet… can you come back dry?» I turned and walked out. Go rent a lawn mower and stick your head in it, you’ll have a better experience.

I live in Eastlake, but I still come out here to get my hair cut by Richard. He’s a great barber and a great guy. Everyone who comes in loves this guy and and they also love the service that they receive. Looking for a simple, straightforward place to get a haircut? Bam, done — The Admiral’s Barber Shop.

I’ve tried a few places around town since I moved here a few months ago and this is by far the best barber shop and haircut. Richard is great, definitely and old school barber. $ 20 is a little pricey but I’ll still be back.

This is an «old school» shop, and Richard is an old school barber. Such a nice guy, and he knows what he’s doing. My hair has never looked better, which is important for me as a small business owner. I always look professional. Richard knows how to cut hair properly and hold a good conversation at the same time. The best part is his vacuum hose he uses to clean the hair off your neck. No stray clippings down your shirt! The price is good, too.

Just what you look for in a barber shop. Sports on the TV, a great barber and good conversation! Leave the stylist for the wife/girlfriend and come to an old school barber.

This place was everything I hoped for… and more. Well, okay. Maybe not more. But it was everything I hoped for. Stop blabbin’ and give us the details, you say? This is basically a classic barber shop. There’s a barber pole out front. I went there for the first time this week. Richard is the name of the proprietor and solitary barber. I know he is the only barber because he said he was on vacation last week and the shop was closed. I guess I could have asked him straight up if he is the only barber, but I don’t like to pry. In days gone by, I needed a hair stylist.(Boy, those were the days.) But these days, all I needs is a barber, thanks very much. Electric clippers, number 3 sled.(The sled is the clip-on thing that sets the height of the clippers.) Short, in other words. Very short. Richard trimmed everything up just fine, tapered in the back. The price: $ 16(You should ask first to make sure this is still true, of course.) I used to pay $ 13 in Pittsburgh — in 2007, not the old days or anything, and I thought that was a bargain. So, given that the cost of living is higher here in Seattle, $ 16 seems like a great price. I should add that Richard is a heck of a nice guy, and that his patrons are mostly older dudes that probably have a lot of good stories to tell. But, like I said, I don’t like to pry, and the only other guy in there when I was there was younger than me. I’m in my forties, okay, if you have to know. So maybe I like these kinds of barber shops because they make me feel like a youngster. Tell Richard I sent you. No. Wait! Tell him you read about his shop on and see what he says to that. I’m sure you will like your cut.
