Caring staff makes a difference. Had a great customer experience which made lunch even better. They took the time to really make a great looking salad instead of slopping stuff in a bowl as often happens elsewhere.

Cheap, fast, Southwest food, that’s what you get. It’s the usual, run of the mill chain restaurant that fills you up and then puts you on your way. It seems better than other sorts of places, like burger joints and what not and the employees are much nicer than disgruntled food factory joints. If you’re in the mood for cheap fast food, I recommend this place.

Meh. The food I got here last night was nothing special. The quesadilla with pica de gayo had zip flavor & was missing the pica de gayo altogether. The flour and spinach tortillas were dry & flavorless. I got the carnitas with sour cream & guacamole. I saw them make the food, so I know they put sour cream & guac on it, but I could hardly taste it because of the oily, runny, few days old pork. The two employees were all right. I was in a chatty mood & starving after a really long day at work. Pulling words out of them was work & neither could smile.

There used to be a TDM on Santana Row back in San Jose, CA. It closed and is now Veggie Grill… mmm…Veggie Grill… anyway… I was greeted the moment I walked into the door by a friendly woman working behind the counter. I got a burrito that was just basic — black beans, rice, chicken, salsa, guac and cheese. It was good, but the guac had a funny taste to it — almost like it had a bit too much lime in it. Service was fast and friendly. I wasn’t able to finish my whole burrito, but for a chain, this isn’t bad. Parking was a non-issue because there was a lot right outside of this strip mall where Safeway is located.

Their chicken is real bland @ this location… Also, I’ve been a taco del mar fan for years & always get ½ whole, ½ refried beans on my burrito; @ every other location I’ve ever been to. They will not do that here. «1 kind of bean only» he says to me. Hurumph. I know it’s a seemingly small thing, but I’m used to it & it made this burrito experience not as enjoyable :(

I feel bad because the guy who owns this franchise is just trying to make a buck. But your food is cr@p, Only thing going for this place is their nuclear salsa.

I had chicken taco’s and they were watery and tasted like Fish. As I consumed I realized I was eating just to sustain… and hated myself for it. I could of spent the same money on Phở or a Sushi role… This was just bad.

Ho-hum. I really want to like this place, but there is not much to get excited about. The burritos weigh about 7 lbs., but it is all quantity and not quality. I recently had a shrimp burrito, and instead of nice, healthy, fresh shrimp, it was that foul and gross«popcorn» shrimp. All batter, and very little shrimp.

In today’s economy, I can’t afford to go out to eat very often, so when I do I save it for food I can’t make at home with any success… indian food, sushi, thai, etc. When I get the urge for a decent burrito to go, I’m willing to pay for seasoned meats, fluffy rice, and flavorful salsas. Taco Del Mar served none of these things, and I even paid the additional amount for sour cream and some extras. The carne asada was disgusting salty shredded beef. The orange Mexican rice was was also salty and dry. I asked for verde salsa and could not taste anything. This was a complete waste of money.

«Meh» pretty much sums up my feelings about this place. The servers were pretty friendly, the burritos were a little on the dry side, but a little cheaper than Chipotle. I got a fish burrito and even with their special fish sauce I wished I had spent the extra couple of bucks on sour cream and quacamole. The surfing pictures on the wall were a little strange. Not a bad idea for lunch but don’t get too excited about the food or atmosphere.

When the Taco Del Mar shops first opened up I was quite enthused to see San Francisco«Mission Style» Mexican food finally make it to Seattle(I visit San Francisco frequently and consider eating Mexican food in the Mission district a necessity on each trip). Back then the food wasn’t exciting but I was happy it was available. I eat here very seldom now because much better and more authentic Mexican food is now available around Seattle. My suspicion is that they produce in quantities that are industrial in scale and they have made the food quite bland. Maybe that is what Seattlites who are not accustomed to spicy food want but for me it makes the food way to boring. I can get better Mexican food for the same price elsewhere so why bother eating here unless you are really hungry at they have an outlet conveniently located nearby. A friend took me to this place again so I grabbed a burrito BUT, I still have the same opinion. Skip this place. Go somewhere where the cooks speak Spanish and the ingredients aren’t mixed up in mass quantities. You can tell by the attitude of the employees that this is corporate all the way.
