It’s not very often that a cheap pizza restaurant really blows me away. Actually, I don’t think it would be fair to call Pizza Brava just a cheap pizza restaurant, because I don’t want to be selling short such a great place. I didn’t come here expecting much, but I did want a change from the more generic ones likes Pagliacci’s and Domino’s. So I came here, didn’t even order any pizza, and thought it was one of the best restaurants on the Ave! I started off with the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and for six dollars, it’s amazing! It honestly didn’t look like much at first glance, considering most of it is wrapped up, but one bite of it told me that it tasted exactly as a Philly cheesesteak is supposed to. It’s warm, filling, and delicious! As if that weren’t enough, it also comes with a side of fries, melted provolone cheese, and a drink. The fries are big, soft, thick, full of potato, and definitely not overcooked. Try getting such an awesome meal at Subway(hint: you can’t). Even though I was already pretty full, I figured why not get something else anyway since I was having such a good time? I got a spaghetti pomodoro, and the noodles are a little hard but the marinara sauce makes up for it. The garlic bread and shredded cheese also go with the whole thing pretty well. The dish isn’t as good as the Philly cheesesteak sandwich in my opinion, but it’s still an above average deal, and considering the low price, you can’t really go wrong with it. Overall, Pizza Brava seems like a great place on the Ave for food, but it feels kind of forgotten among all the other restaurants. It’s quite narrow, which means that anyone walking by it is prone to easily overlooking it. Also, its sign facing the street isn’t very prominent or memorable, so it’s not something that people really recognize. I really hope these guys keep it up, since I want to come back later to try their pizza!

SSSSSHHHHH! Don’t tell anyone how good it is! I want to be able to drop in have a couple slices and not have to wade through a huge line! Seriously, the place is tiny! The pizza(LOVE the Husky) is great and the prices are even better. $ 5 gets two slices and a soda can.(Like the Orange King of U-dist pizza, if you follow me). Like«white» pizza? Then you will very much like the alfredo-sauced pie. Try it! The crust(let’s not get into a thick versus thin versus NY versus whatever — save it) is nice thinner foldable type crust. Note: they are not open weekends! Enjoy!

I see that I’m rating this place lower than your typical diner, but honestly I was disappointed. I was there about 6pm, so definite dinner hour, and there were no fresh slices. :(Nothing looked good and although my reheated pepp was better than anticipated based on its appearance, that’s not saying much. If you want thin crust flavor-packed pizza in Seattle, this is not your place.

I may be biased because a pizza joint is kind of like my version of a coffee shop, and I’m a starving student in Seattle, but this mom-and-pop joint is just my style. The crust is thin – I’m not normally a super-thin crust guy, but neither am I averse – but it’s also very significant at the same time. It’s usually cooked to just under perfection the first time, so when a slice is thrown into the oven to be heated up for you, it comes out wonderfully crispy/crunchy on the bottom with a saucy slightly chewy middle. The sauces are homemade and they are very generous with cheese and toppings. The buffalo pizza, who knew!!! It uses buffalo sauce instead of marinara, and it’s topped with roasted chicken and ranch. If you like wings, you will LOVE this pizza! I’m not going to disclose the secret ingredient in the amazing Wild Fries, but I will say the not-so-secret ingredient in the ranch is garlic, and lots of it. Make sure you dip the awesome Wild Fries in the secret ranch, it comes along for free. The folks that run this place are hardworking and appear to really enjoy making and serving good food. That is a big deal in this wonderful, laid back city of ours where customer service and quality is normally crummy when you’re paying affordable prices.

Gross pizza, the crust is of the high-school cafeteria frozen variety and the vegetables are lifeless. The taste wouldn’t be so overwhelmingly bad if it wasn’t for the slimy texture. Greasy is one thing, slimy is another thing entirely. Maybe their sandwiches are where it’s at, otherwise this is just a college pizza joint trying to get the most money/pizza. I worked in a pizza place and I hit Seattle’s high-end pizza shops when I can afford it. Money may be tight, but, I would have preferred dominoes or Pizza Hut to this crap.

Don’t know why I didn’t come here till my senior year… I’m regretting never stopping by! While I appreciate all the Asian food choices on the Ave, I’ve had an occasional craving for pizza and/or pasta but didn’t know of any good place near campus. I mean, I’ve always seen this place but I don’t know why I never checked it out! Their pizzas just hit the spot. I wouldn’t say they’re mind-blowing but it’s really hard to mess up a pizza anyway. They’re very satisfying. As most people have pointed out, you can have 2 big slices of pizza and a drink for $ 5. BUT if you’re like me and can’t quite finish 2 slices of pizza, you can actually also have a slice of pizza, a salad and a drink for that same price.

I was hungry, decided to venture up the ave for something ‘new’…I’m not really a big fan of pizza at all… especially American style. However, I’m glad I stopped by into Pizza Brava. 5 bucks for a any two slices and a can of soda. That’s not incredibly cheap but for pizza that’s about as good a deal as you could ask for. They are really nice and welcoming too… the definition of an old school husband wife operated pizzaria… I had the husky and the chicken alfredo slices… they were really good… they pull the slices from the pan and pop it in the oven to reheat… it’s not incredibly fresh but it’s good enough. You can’t really ask for much better… well at least not for those prices! I also saw an espresso machine… maybe I’ll try their coffee sometime.

For a long time, pizza is assoiated with word like greasy and fat, but Pizza Brava prove to me that pizza can be just as healthy. I love that they heat the pizza in the oven for you before they serve it, instead of letting their pizza seating under the heat lamp like pagliacci… they simplely just taste better! I visit there almost once every two weeks, before going there, I dont ever go to any pizza joint.

I am a pizza snob. I am so finicky about pizza that 99% of pizza joints that i go to are crap. But pizza is a personal choice and this is only MY personal taste: I LOVENYC pizza. 1 slice, 1 topping, thin and saggy, and must have the perfect trifecta: Dough, Sauce and Cheese. I do like Chicago style, Cali style, stone oven style, neopolitan style and even frozen style(Tostino’s is the bomb). But Brava, has everything in a NYC style you won’t find in the PacNW. This is the go to place for college kids. I make a trip there once a month to satisfy my pizza needs.

When you want a filling snack and don’t want to spend much, go for the 2 slices for $ 5 deal! You also get a 12oz soda for free! I shared this deal with a friend one evening and was excited about the price but… The pizza was a wee bit burnt! The place felt a little dirty, too. It’s one thing to have something look dirty, but to feel dirty in one place is a tad disturbing.

New owners again. The same pizza, but they now serve espresso and pastries(made in-house), including some breakfast options. I came in for a slice each of the Florentine and the Husky, two of the flagship pizzas of the previous owners. The crust has been changed since my last review; it’s now pretty bubbly, to the point that it actually separates into two layers. The bottom layer is light and crisp, and the layer adjacent to the sauce is doughier. It’s a good contrast. Unfortunately, the last couple of inches of crust dried out a bit, and took on the texture of dense, hard pretzel. So, not exactly foldable, making the generously-topped slices a little unwieldy. Still decent pizza if you’re in the area, but it seemed a small step down from the previous incarnation. The change in pizza quality is not enough to dock a star, especially since they now serve espresso to go with it. Coffee and pizza are a great combination. The espresso I tried was fine: a step up from the big chains, a step down from the small specialty roasters; basically, what you’d expect from most of the coffee places on the Ave. Better than I’d have expected from a pizza place.

Had the cheapest gyro deal on the ave, and the pizza is pretty good too. They’ve changed owners and now they’re menu looks to include more wrap varieties, but still have the deal: wrap, package of chips, and a soda for $ 5. I also like the huge jar of serve-yourself pepperoncini. Sit near the back to appreciate the painted mural — it’s pretty rad. I’ll review again after tasting for any changes.

My pizza slice was on par with the crappy slices that are sold at the mall. A veggie slice to-go had mushrooms, onions, and peppers. The crust had good chewiness, but needed salt and seasonings. The sauce and cheeses had relatively no flavor. The slice helped my hunger, but did not provide any satisfaction– I still wanted food… FYI~ *A whole pizza is not that cheap at Pizza Brava– even though the slices kind of are… I would suggest buying elsewhere

LOL. i’m pretty sure they are speaking Greek … to the person below who said Italian… anyhow, I use to work at UW and like others have said, I some how found myself craving a slice… or two. of their pizza for lunch. It was inexplicable. Considering the first time I walked in, I turned, looked at their slices, chuckled and walked right out. The $ 2 after tax was very appealing considering the pricey slices of Seattle pizza vs. their portions. This alone, left me curious, so eventually i mustered up the courage to try a slice here. I use to take an ex here, it was almost like a joke though. We would sit their and joke about how«tasty» the pizza is there. And I would profusely laugh my ass off uncontrollably for the remainder of our visit. I guess the price kept the taste bearable. An the men their are extremely«funny.» They kept me entertained I suppose. Oh and that mural up on the wall is to die for. I’ll give this place 3 stars, and not for the pizza.

Definitely not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but a slice or two at lunch time hits the spot. I like how they’ll throw the slices back in the oven for a minute or so to warm it up. I just wish they had a bigger seating area.

I really love Pizza Brava. The owner is the sweetest man in the world and always gives me a huge smile. Seeing I don’t really like pizza(unless we’re talking true Italian thin-style pizza) I’d say 4 stars is pretty hefty. Pizza: The spinach pizza is DELICIOUS. The cheese is perfect, the spinach is never dry, the crust is fluffy. Mmmmm. The vegetarian(with hearts of palm and feta and tomatoes and olives) is also solid. I didn’t like the chicken pizza, but it may have been because it was too hot and burned my mouth(my fault for being impatient). My friend SWEARS by the cheese. Ambiance: It’s a bit cramped, but the bathroom is clean, and there is the coolest mural on the back wall. Service: Friendly, fast. What else can you ask for?

I had a review here before, but decided that«This pizza tastes good and is cheap,» is not a good review. Oh, the days when I first started out on Unilocal. Anyways, there is something about this pizza that always makes me come back. Maybe its when you are walking down the Ave, and get drawn into this place because they leave their window open. No, it’s not the greatest pizza in the world but everything seems to go together nicely. And at $ 2 a slice, how can you only get one?(I usually get three because I am a fat pig.) I never gotten a gyro here, and I doubt I would. I just don’t get when a pizza place tries to branch out into other things. If I want a gyro, I’d go to a gyro shop. It is like Subway trying to sell pizza when it is a sandwich shop. End rant. Oh, and I also like the artwork here, but I bet that it was here before the current owners got ahold of the place.
