Pasta sounded great, and the outside and inside made us want to ear at Piatti. None of the few pasta items on the menu sounded good. I wanted to order the beat salad without anything from the onion family. That was not possible because the dressing and beats cannot be served without the onions that area already part of it. I settled for a boring margarita pizza. The olive oil and balsalmic presentation was nice. Unfortunately, when I was using that to add flavor to my boring pizza, I was not offered more. Service was just OK. I would not return.

Love the bean & kale soup, olives & bread… unfortunately, that’s all that I’ve found to be good. this was my third try to find something else palatable on the menu. Pasta way too greasy(spring pea ravioli) & cheese pizza was mush, a’la chef boyardee. Third time was not the charm, won’t go back. Service has always been excellent, however.

My wife and I have visited with our 1-year old son several times, mostly in the afternoons and evenings for dinner. The food is solid, the service is great, but most of all(for us) they are GREAT with young kids. It’s really unusual to find a restaurant which is nice and which also caters to families, but we’ve found our sweet spot with Piatti. At times, when busy, we’ve been tucked in the back room, but even then it’s worked out just great.

Lunch. Bread with olive oil, vinegar and basil dipping sauce was excellent. Pizza here was thin crust and better than some of the ones in Italy. I thoght service was good. Free parking in the mall.

I went here for the first time with my colleagues yesterday for lunch. It seemed like a nice place and was fairly open and loud. We got seated right away since we had reservations, but it was an hour before we got anything(bread) to eat. The free bread and dipping oil was very tasty. It took another thirty minutes to get our main food. I ordered the Italian sandwich which was okay. It had very little meat and veggies on it which was disappointing. The flavor of it was good. The fries were okay. They had a bit of shredded cheese on them, but they tasted like normal fries. For almost $ 15, I feel like everything should have filled the plate. It was a nice place to socialize, but I would probably not go with my family.

Upon walking in, the male host asked if we needed something. Um, yes, to be seated. Do you think we are standing around just for fun? The server was great and very attentive. She answered all the questions we had and was patient. Food was okay. The bread was delicious as was my gnocchi. The others did not like their dishes. The pasta they use in some dishes don’t match well with the sauces and I think that’s the downfall. But, as I stated, I thought it was okay. Oh! They were quick. I decided to time how long it took from when the order was placed to when food was served. It was about 15 minutes. But, then again, it’s pasta. It doesn’t take much time to cook. Anywho…three stars for the bread and server. Yes, the bread was that good.

This place was fantastic and their customer service was above and beyond. I mentioned to the hostess I needed a comfortable booth as we were just coming from my father-in-law’s chemotherapy. They sat us right down and we had great service from Katie the entire night. At the end of our dinner they surprised us with an amazing dessert to share and said they heard we were just coming from chemotherapy. It was the simplest gesture but really went a long way! After an incredibly long 9 – 10 hours in the hospital it put a huge smile on his face. The manager Rebecca was kind enough to come and chat with us for a while and seemed genuinely interested in what he was going through. Given that he’ll be staying in a hotel just down the street for each round of chemo, he/we will no doubt be back! Food was top notch to match the service as well. THANKYOUPIATTI!

Piatti is a great authentic Italian restaurant located in UVille! The food tasted fresh and our service was superb throughout the whole night. I loved the food & the wine even more! I do wish the portions were bigger, but on the other hand, I do believe quality is more important than quantity. Our waiter was so nice & was very aware of my needs. We came here for my friend’s birthday and the staff was so accommodating, so we’ll definitely be back again!

Fancy past and a bit on the pricy side but good. I really enjoyed the gnocchi. Also the server was helpful in picking a wine to go with my meal. I have also been to several group events here and the restaurant has handled it well.

I stopped in Piatti after a day of shopping and it was amazing. The prices are a little high but you get what you pay for. The bruschetta and olive oil they bring out is to die for, and you can get more than one basket full. I got the roasted chicken sandwich with almond pesto, sun dried tomatoes and spinach. Probably the best meal I’ve ever had. The service was great too! Definitely will be back.

Disappointed. That’s how I felt leaving Piatti’s on Friday night. I’m new to Seattle and Piatti’s was recommended by a long-time Seattleite and, unfortunately, the food just fell short. It was average Italian fare, no worse or better than what can be found at the Olive Garden. In fact, I mentioned to my husband that I somewhat wished that we had actually dined at the Olive Garden even though I am sure the Olive Garden’s food is not what I remember it being from my last visit to the OG nearly 10 years ago. Positives: +Loved the space. Modern. Open. Inviting. +Zero minute wait at 7:30pm on a Friday. +Bread. Worth every calorie. +Ample free parking throughout University Village. Negatives: –Service was not the best. Slow. Intermintent. Felt as though our table was in the Bermuda Triangle of the restaurant. –Lamb Pappardelle was tasteless. Utter disappointment and worth none of the gazillion calories it contained. Needed salt. Needed flavor. Was overly dry. –Mojito was terrible. Awful. One of the worst I’ve ever had. Upon reflection, I believe the bartender forgot to add sugar to the drink. –Expensive for the quality, etc. My husband’s ravioli was filling but he said it was«not that great» which, in husband terms, means he didn’t enjoy it at all. Finally, the olive oil, balsamic, garlic, crushed red pepper dipping sauce served with the bread was not heaven as many prior reviewers proclaimed. I would have much rather preferred olive oil and fresh ground salt as they do in Italy. My husband actually said the dipping sauce was gross. So there you have it.

The food at Piatti has always been enjoyable enough for me to return. This time, however, I was disappointed by the service. The appetizer came out after the main course was served, which made me suspect the server forgot to put the order in. She also forgot to ask me about the ‘done-ness’ of my grilled steak(and I never thought to tell her at the time.) It came out mostly well done, which was disappointing. I highlighted that to the server who offered to bring a new steak. But as I was hungry and didn’t want to wait, I declined and said it was fine. Hopefully, she will now remember to ask how customers want their steak done. The manager later came and apologized, and offered to take 50% off the steak or give us a free dessert. While it was a nice gesture, this was likely never communicated to the server who brought a bill with a full-priced steak. We decided not to make a fuss and just pay the full amount but it goes to show that either communication between the staff is poor, or that the server was told about the discounted steak but was just plain forgetful… again!

We went in here right after the new remodel. It is nice and bright however they have crowded everyone together which was not the same romantic atmosphere as before the remodel. The food itself was good, nothing spectacular but good. The issue I have is with the management. My boyfriend and I were seated for 20 minutes before the couple next to us sat down. Note that their server took their order 20 – 30 minutes after our order was taken. And… they got their food before us. I decided to let the manager know as that can make the customer feel bad in that situation. He proceeded to make an excuse that chicken takes 20 minutes to cook and that their pasta only takes 3 minutes. My boyfriend is a chef, and while I understand that pasta is a shorter cook time, in no way in hell does it take 20 minutes to cook a small half chicken breast. Maybe a half chicken, but not a small chicken breast. The manager was not very nice, actually a little snarky in the way he spoke to me. He said he would comp my meal. Then they give me free dessert. It was nice but I didn’t really want desert. Then the manager comes back and says he is sorry and the kitchen was backed up. So he lied to me initially. When we get the check, they didn’t comp my meal! So for this reason, I’m not ever going back. I would have rather the manager just be truthful from the beginning. We paid and got the hell out of there. Be prepared for this to happen if they are really busy.

The remodel is well done. The place is more modern and much brighter, but It’s definitely not as romantic as it used to be. The White Bean and Kale soup was delish. Definitely was nice to warm up to on a cold rainy day. The Funghi pizza was a bit disappointing. Way too salty and covered with so much arugula, it kind of looked like a salad. I didn’t even notice the wild mushrooms as its main topping. The Italian sandwich wasn’t really even an Italian sandwich. It was too heavy on meat and light on vegetable and flavor. Not a good balance. The wait staff is fabulous as usual. The menu is smaller and some of my favorite pasta dishes were missing(bring back Butternut Squash Ravioli please). Definitely a good environment for drinks and happy hour after work, but definitely not the place to go for authentic Italian meals in an intimate, romantic environment.

I am so incredibly disappointed at this place. We waited for almost an hour for our main course because the chicken took forever to cook. They have to manage their time better than this. Very unacceptable. The only thing that was good here were their servers. My sever was awesome! I felt so bad for asking him to check on the food, but it was just too long.

I recently came to Piatti for a quadruple date. You read that correctly, a QUADRUPLE date. Three other couples, of whom I knew all but one of the individuals. A fun evening indeed. Food: Their bread is the best bread in the entire world, nay, universe. There is an herb-crusted bread, a cheese-crusted bread(didn’t get any this time), an herb– and cheese-crusted bread(didn’t get any this time either), and a regular crusted bread. The bread comes with an out-of-this-world olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette with garlic. I think I ate the most bread the entire evening. For the main course, I ordered the pappardelle with braised short ribs(large, of course), and so did two other individuals at the Quadruple Date. My boyfriend the Ginger ordered a small gnocchi, what a weakling. Waiting: Absolutely no waiting for our table because 1. I was 7 minutes late and 2. half the group was on time. We didn’t have to wait much longer for the last couple to arrive for the Quadruple date, either. As soon as they were seated, our friendly main waiter arrived to see if we needed anything. I spoke for the group and said that we’d need a few more minutes to decide. When we were ready, he took our orders promptly and brought out the famous universe’s best bread. Soon after, all our main courses arrived. Ambiance: The remodeled space was nice and open, but lacked the Tuscan, Italian feel that the space had pre-remodel, which I dearly miss. The extra space was nice, but not absolutely necessary. I miss the flowers in the doorway! Other than that, the lighting was nice. The music was a tad loud, but maybe it just added to all the conversations in the open space, which made it hard to hear at times. Service: Pretty great. All the waitstaff was attentive. One person even picked up my friend’s scarf that had dropped to the ground. That was a lovely gesture. I wouldn’t’ve wanted my scarf to get stepped on and then wrapped around my neck later. You know what’s on people’s shoes? *shudder* Credit card: They take American Express. They also split the bill into four for us, quite graciously, too. The main waiter wasn’t sure at first who the couples were, but after one of the guys in the Quadruple Date gestured to each couple, the main waiter got it no problem. Overall: I still love Piatti, even if they did away with the cheese-crusted bread and the herb– and cheese-crusted bread, as well as the Tuscany/Italian feel with the recent remodel. I’m just glad it’s open again because an entire summer without Piatti was not fun for me!

Twas the night before 2016 As the night grew cold and mean We came down to Piatti’s to celebrate and not be lean lol, I’ll be here all day on this review if I continue. We arrived here right after the wedding ceremony of my friend(congrats Emmy and Kiana!) and went to this place for dinner. We had bread with this vinegar oil and it was delicious! We also had the polenta fries which are also really good. As a drink, I ordered the fire bird, which was strong, but sweet. We all cheered for the newly weds and then our food came in. I had the Butchers Meatballs which was also really good and the plate definitely filled me up(so full!) The staff treated us so nicely and they were quick and responsive. I definitely would come back to eat and even pick this place to hold a get together.

Beautiful Restaurant! Very clean with a updated interior, menu was small but easy to find something for everyone. My family is Italian, I found the food to be very authentic. Waitress was friendly but somethings said were odd. Ordered the Margarita Pizza and was pleasantly surprised with the delicious fresh mozzarella. Slow service but enjoyable time spent. Will be back!

There is a turf war going on in University Village with a lot of the smaller non chain restaurants being forced out and their space taken over by the larger better known restaurant chains. Piatti seems to have survived this, has renovated and the interior has much different feel than the previous space. The space is open and bright. I think it’s a great place to either grab a table with friends or sit at the bar. On this visit we chose the bar because all of the tables were full. Not a bad choice since the bar is comfortable and the service is still excellent. Now on to the food. Appetizers: fried risotto and steam mussels. The mussels were excelent, the fried risotto just wasn’t that good. Honestly it seemed like something you would have at Olive Garden and not a restaurant if this caliber. Note to management consider taking it off the menu. Main course: Pappardelle with short rib and Butchers meatballs. The Pappardelle certainly was missing flavor. This is usually a favorite dish of mine at other restaurants but I ended up adding salt and pepper. The Butchers meatball pasta dish was ok but nothing to get excited about. The fresh baked bread that they serve however is really good. So 2 apps, 2 main courses and bread and only 2 winners. Overall I would say if you are in the area for happy hour you should stop by, but if not I think there are better options for food in the area(even italian). The space and the service are great and certainly worthy of stopping in if you are just grabbing some drinks with friends.

Food was okay but our server was visibly annoyed with our large group with young kids. Management needs to retrain or have her avoid serving groups such as ours. We were not overly demanding but did take a little time deciding what to order and at one point she just walked away after we asked for more time. She was also annoyed that we were not ordering drinks. Two stars for rude service.

We went here tonight after it being closed for remodeling. I like the new look, its very open and I like seeing other people eating and enjoying themselves and I like that the kitchen is viewable. I think the staff here is really nice, very friendly and welcoming. They brought out some delicious, crusty bread and oil/balsamic to tide us over until dinners arrived. I had the meatballs with Strozzpreti pasta, it was really delicious and the meatballs were fantastic. I like that they bring a huge block of extremely pungent romano cheese and the server was very generous with it, unlike most restaurants who act like cheese is gold. My partner had a wild mushroom, pepperoni pizza and he loved it. I tasted too and it had a very delicious subtle sprinkle of truffle oil that brought out all the flavors. We didnt have room for dessert because the portions were generous. My only complaint is that the soft drinks are too expensive; $ 4.00 for a relatively small drink(no alcohol). We first tried the ginger ginger ale but sent it back because it just tasted like bar fountain ginger ale. All in all, we plan on coming back. Great food, nice location and lots of stores to window shop after dinner.

Visited Piatti tonight after their remodel with high hopes! I used to love the Chicken Penne dish and was anticipating ordering it again. Sadly, they updated and removed it from their menu. I ordered the margarita pizza and it was delicious, but really wish they had the pasta. Their new space is much more modern, but I miss the warmth and charm of their old décor. Their new space is rather cold and not as intimate as before. Please bring back some of your old menu items!

The remodel is beautiful. Very modern. Seemed like there were lots of servers working. Our service was good. The server was very nice… but almost checked up on us too many times. Lol He was charming though, so it was all good :) We were sitting in the bar, which was a small area, so I figured he was just trying to keep busy, which is good! The reason I only gave it three stars is because the food wasn’t that impressive. *I had the gluten free bread… which was literally a stale-ish gf hamburger bun/roll with olive oil. Now I love Udi’s bread but this was just weird lol. I would love to see them get some sort of specialty gluten free bread… like homemade or from a bakery. I definitely wouldn’t pay $ 4 for a gluten free hamburger bun again. But it was still nice that they have the gluten free option. So kudos on that! :) *The olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce was just okay. There was hardly any seasoning in it. Nothing exciting. Good olive oil though. I just like lots of spices and flavors in my dipping oil. *Kale & Bean Soup was VERY bland. No real flavor. I would definitely not order that again. *Happy Hour Margherita Pizza was delicious though! Very simple, straight forward flavors. My mom really liked it! *and our Happy Our Wine was great, of course. :) I would probably go back for some happy hour wine with some friends and maybe order a salad. We had a pleasant time and I live close by! :)

They’re back open!!! I used to frequent Piatti before they started remodeling and have been w a i t i n g patiently for the reopening. I’ll keep this short and sweet. — I thought the restaurant was already nice. The remodeled space is also nice, but definitely a lot more modern. I like both the old and new look. — Service is very friendly. Our waitress seemed new but was super sweet! — NO. MORE. FOCACCIA. v sad about this. Sometimes I would visit Piatti just for their bread– that they don’t serve anymore. They now only give one type of crusty bread. It’s good but just doesn’t compare! — The items on the menu are still relatively the same. My go-to order used to be the linguine with clams and sausage. They now serve the linguine with prawns and anchovy. I love prawns but when they brought out the dish omg I felt my heart drop. The noodles are no longer those soft, wavy noodles! Now it seems like just regular ol’ boxed Bertolli spaghetti noodles. I’m sure they’re still fresh because the dish was still tasty, but man it’s just not the same! The portion also seems significantly smaller. Overall, I will still be returning as Piatti was my go-to spot for pasta, but I will be praying that they bring the old menu items back!

Love this place. My husband and I walked in on Valentines day(which we don’t celebrate at all and never thought we’d get in to eat) and were able to get a seat since someone had cancelled. They always are willing to put up with my crazy requests, «like cant those potatoes be mashed like this one?» I become super indecisive when hungry. And with so many good things on the menu it’s hard to choose. Service is always great from everyone, but we especially love getting Bruce as our hostess. He’s friendly and attentive to detail. Consistent, great food, great customer services and appropriate pricing make this place a regular for us.

I’ve been to Piatti only two times but one thing is for sure, their bread and balsamic vinaigrette is absolutely legendary. It’s so delicious! However, their pastas are decent. Both times that I went to Piatti, I got pastas. The first time I went there I had the Penne and it was okay. It was a bit dry but it wasn’t anything that I nit-picked about. The most recent time and probably the last time I went would be when I ordered the House Made Linguine. This had clams in it and the clams tasted fishy so I wasn’t sure if it was just the dish or if the clams weren’t washed well before it was cooked. I wasn’t disappointed but I wasn’t satisfied either. I don’t think I’ll go back to Piatti unless a friend suggests it or if there was an occasion that I had to go.

I’ve been here twice now and have been happy with both experiences. They are constantly friendly and kind. I don’t remember what I ordered except that it was delicious :) They let us bring cupcakes for a friend’s birthday without charging us, which is always a ++ for any restaurant. The small things make a huge difference to me. :) My Personal Restaurant Rating Key One star: the food was bad and I had a negative experience. Two star: I had a more negative experience and would not come here again but the food was good so I may. Three store: Everything is good except one thing. Example-the food is good, the price is more reasonable but the atmosphere is lacking class. Or the food is good, the atmosphere is good, but they over charged us. These three stars are actually my favorite types of restaurants to go eat at if the reason is due to the atmosphere because they are usually delicious and reasonably priced. Four stars: Everything is great, food and experience. However the price is definitely on the upper end. I would not recommend this first to Obama unless he didn’t like my five stars. These are restaurants you can take your boss or your mother-in-laws to impress them, however they still don’t fit into the five star category. A bit fancier than my three stars, hence I don’t often eat here unless there is an occasion for it or there is a groupon that gives me a bit of a discount! Five stars: I would recommend this to Obama. The price may be on the upper end but the experience and the taste is so exquisite, it is actually worth every nickel and dime.

My husband and I made reservations here for valentines dinner. Our server was Lily R. It was an extra special dinner for us because we just had come from an appointment where it was determined that we were either having a boy or a girl. We had 2 cupcakes with a us one with pink inside and one with blue. Lily was so excited to help us and she took the cupcake and the results and put a candle in the cupcake and made it the most special dinner we have ever had. She was so helpful, attentive, and kind. The service was incredible! The food here is absolutely amazing. My husband always gets the linguine and I always get the spaghetti with meatballs. Thank you Lily for making our night so incredibly special! If you go here, make sure to ask for Lily. She is wonderful. The food here is perfect every time. The atmosphere is also delightful.

I am so full and so happy I stopped into this lovely place. For one I got out of the rain and secondly I had the BEST server and the most delicious meal. Ask for Ryan if you can. Any place the offers me bread to start makes me happy. So they got off on the good foot. A must have(although it might be seasonal) is their butternut squash ravioli with hazelnuts and sage. If it was socially acceptable to like the plate I would have. Desert: EATTHEDONUTHOLES filled with goodness. I say this with so much love… Eat the damn delicious donut holes and be merry.
