We originally had reservations at Jak’s next door. When they refused to seat us after an hour of being there due to our entire party had not shown up yet, we saw your restaurant next door and proceeded to go over there. The restaurant was absolutely hopping, we were seated quickly and served with top-notch service and amazing food. I Had Your Spinach salad which was the best I’ve ever had. You now have customers for life and can’t wait to come back. Our entire Party by the way noticed how your entire restaurant works as a team. Kudos to your management an entire service staff.

Fabulous«local joint» pizzeria in North Seattle. It’s a real hidden gem near U-Village. The zaw is fabulous, and it’s super kid friendly. Solid selection of brews. The calzone is also the bomb. Highly recommended!

One of the last great family oriented pizza joints left in North Seattle. Amazing zaw, tasty brews, and a solid assortment of other yummy eats make this a five star place to take the kids any day of the week.

So this was our second time picking up a pizza. Not sure why I didn’t write a glowing review after our first delicious pie. Maybe I was stoned on the garlic goodness? So it’s 4:30 pm & I’m craving a good quality pie. No frozen, take & bake or cheap stuff will do. Having a hard time deciding between Jet City, Santorinis, Olympias & then I see my pic from our last pizza from Varlamos. Winner winner pizza dinner. Call in the order for a half Nina/half Terminator & hubby picks it up. He said it was torture driving home inhaling the aroma without eating a piece. Needed to pop in toaster oven to bring temp back up & crisp crust. Holy Madonna was it ever good!!! You can’t go wrong with either the Nina or Terminator. The tzatziki sauce served with Terminator is second only to mine. ;) Can’t wait to go dine in next time and give their salads & pastas a try.

This is really a 3.5 star review. This is old school pizza joint. The pizza is legit and their calzones are enormous, seriously the size of a football. Their sandwiches are pretty great too. Portions are huge. They like their cheese and butter. Makes everything taste delish. If I were to ask for anything, it would be a slightly more engaged serving staff(young kind of going through the motions college? kids) and more comfortable seats. Metal chairs are uncomfortable for the little ones. It would be great to have a few more non-cardiac-arrest-giving options.

Varlamos is a great place to take the kids for a decent Italian dinner that won’t break your budget. They have a nice«choose your own pasta» option, good pizzas, and the service is good.

Hands down the best restaurant in the U district. Great service, huge portions and a family atmosphere. Great UW memorabilia and awesome place to watch a game. The new remodel looks great too! Best family restaurant in NE Seattle and obviously the best calzones on the planet. If you want to take a break from football sized calzones then try the tortellini Bella pepper or the unconventional BLT. Kosta is the man!

Our favorite pizza place of all time. They also have great and amazingly fresh salads. Everything else we’ve ever ordered has also been delicious and we’ve yet to be disappointed. Great low key atmosphere and the service is solid.

Love their pizza. The gyro meat is exactly what I’ve been looking for when I order meatball. The crust is thick and airy. Don’t get a lot of toppings. I got the works once and it was really soggy in the bottom. This last time it was much better. Less toppings.

I took my son here to get him a really good cheese pizza. We ordered a large cheese pizza and what arrived was rather impressive to look at and tasted OK, but fell apart when my son tired to eat it. The cheese just slides off the droopy crust when you pick up a slice of this stuff. One of the joys of eating pizza — to me anyway — is that you can pick it up and not have to eat it with a fork. We couldn’t just pick up a slice of Varlamos Pizza and eat it. Their pizza is more like a big plate of cheesy goo. My son in particular hates it when the toppings slide off pizzas, and after investing twenty dollars in a cheese pizza he refused to eat it, so I took him to Burger King a few blocks away and got him a ten dollar burger. So I’m out thirty bucks to feed my son. I should have just got him a Red Baron at Safeway. Finally, the waiter took my order and never came back. Based on the service level and the fall-apart pizza, I doubt I’ll ever come back.

Very good pizza place. We had the Greek pizza with the gluten free crust and it was delicious. Best gluten free crust I’ve had anywhere. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because they don’t offer gluten free pasta or any gluten free appetizer options.

I ordered a pizza to go once and the pizza was delicious. So I decided to come back and sit and enjoy the pizza in store. I told the bus boy I didn’t need a menu and that I was ready to order. He said he tell the server. I waited and no one came. The server went to other tables to deliver food, not once did she turn to look at me. She took someone’s tab and charged then. Went back to the table and never came to take my order. So I just got up and left.

We waited about 10 min and it was not that busy. Waitress made eye contact and passed by us a couple of times. We gave her the benefit of the doubt. I really do not like thinking people are racist but we were the only colored people there. Never again. Paggliachi’s it is

Came here Friday with a large group after going to see the Husky women’s soccer game. It was crowded so we split into two tables, adults at one and teenage girls at another. Our table ordered a meat pizza and a veggie. The pizzas were ok, nothing great. I prefer thin crust, light on sauce and cheese and the pies here are thick, almost deep dish/stuffed in preparation and are quite covered in toppings. The veggie was a bit better than the meat. The calzones are huge, as several people ordered them at the other table, including my daughter. She only ate about ¼ and took the rest to go. Our server was on top of things and very friendly. I wouldn’t necessarily seek this place out, but wouldn’t avoid it as part of a group.

Wide variety of toppings for your pizza(finally, anchovies!) and friendly staff. I typically order pizza for pick up which I think might be the way to go with this place if you’re not having a calzone. Pizzas are huge and really filling. I’ve tried some of their special pizzas and love the Laurelhurst which has a bunch of toppings, including pine nuts which feels sorta decadent for a neighborhood pizza joint. But even the regular pepperoni is all around delicious. Lots of cheese but maintains a good sauce/cheese/crust ratio. What I really love is the crust here. Going back to Domino’s crust after this was an enormous downgrade, and I usually really like Domino’s. Guess I have found my new go to pizza place — it might become yours too after you try it!

Got a small«Terminator» and it was quite delicious I can normally eat my weight in pizza, but even a small filled me up. It was chalk full of delicious toppings.

Stopped in for dinner tonight and got the all meat pizza. Honestly can’t remember what the actual menu title is but man it was good. Sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and meat balls. It’s true that I am on my way to the ER with a clogged artery, but I have a giant grin plastered on my face so it’s all good. Serious note though, I really do love the deeper dish crust style of their pizza. It’s amazing and not super greasy. I think some of the better Chicago style pizza I have had in Seattle. Service always been decent and only complaint is sometimes it seems like the floor needs a quick hoakie more often.

I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the food and service. Maybe the chef was different on a Sunday night? I don’t know but the service, although very friendly, was not very attentive. Mostly absorbed in their own conversation. The cheese bread was absolutely delicious! But the entrée(tortellini Bella peppa) was not up to par. There was a flavor that was missing and I can’t put my finger on it. I guess the sausage was the binding ingredient. Anyway, this place had a very comfy, homey feel. Cute and intimate.

The food at Varlamos was okay but not amazing. I liked the chicken parmesan a lot, but was disappointed in the pizza and calzones. The pizza dough is the thick, doughy kind, and the toppings feel like they’re just sitting on top of the cheese. The flavors don’t really meld together well and the crust got kind of soggy(not sure if this was due to the green bell peppers or mushrooms). The calzone was huge but, again, the flavors didn’t really seem to blend together… it was just not that good. Interestingly, the pepperoni on the pizzas here is larger, thinly cut slices of sausage rather than the small, fat pieces you find on most pizzas. I liked it. Varlamos does have the«friendly neighborhood restaurant» feel though, and it’s comfortably casual. If I return I’ll probably stick to the pasta dishes.(The sandwiches look good too.)
