I wanted to give this place five stars but I can’t here’s why the cash register only works half the time and they refuse to let anyone have any other outside food or drink even though you buy stuff from there establishment after they just told some tourists no a group of 5 spending tons of money I more than likely will find a new place to eat and hang on MY breaks if that’s how you treat people who work hard for the money then you don’t deserve mine I’d like to add thus was not the staffs fault but they had to uphold the policy of the boss man Fuck that

If you want nasty coffee and crappy service, this is the place for you! The cashiers, baristas and deli employees need an attitude adjustment.

If you are at Pike Place Market in Seattle and want the best Chili you might ever have stop here! You won’t be disappointed. Such fun just sitting at the window bar watching the world go by as you enjoy a cup of chili. And don’t forget to have one of their killer chocolate chip cookies for desert. Yum

It’s interesting that Pear is listed as a deli — it absolutely is, but it’s just as much of a wine/beer shop. On the food front, they’ve got a nice selection of artisanal offerings from local producers(some in the market as well, some not) and a really good selection of cheese. The deli counter has some grab and go choices but it appears that the real winner is the made to order sandwiches. I just couldn’t(thanks Piroshky, Piroshky) but the ones that were being served looked amazing. On the drinks front — I was really, really impressed. They stock a great craft beer selection, lots of interesting ciders and have tons of local wines to pick from. I was both surprised and pretty excited to see that they stocked my favorite cava(Dibon) at a VERY reasonable $ 11. I might have left with a bottle… Anyway, I’d totally agree with the reviewer who says that while Pear might look unassuming, there’s actually a lot to get excited about inside.

Took some visitors to Pear for lunch whilst visiting the market, once again perfect service and perfect food. We had sandwiches made to perfection and a lovely cup of coffee too. I love how you can buy all the food there too. Will definitely be back I love this place xx

As noted by others, this place has the best pop selection I’ve ever seen. Interesting specialty items(bitters, maple syrup, etc) I walked in for a cream soda and found three or four rows of them. Very friendly place– I overheard the staff chatting with regulars and calling them by name.

This shop fits in perfectly with the Pike’s Market area. This shop has a nice selection of food items, both to take home and to enjoy on site. They have a nice display case to get sandwiches and foods to enjoy there or to grab on the go. The shelves are stocked with unique food items that a tourist would be happy to take home and enjoy a little bit of the market later. Up front in the market are other assorted goods that are nice to browse. One of the best finds that I’ve come across here was a pear wine in the refrigerated beverage section. Definitely a spot that I like to check out each time I’m in the area.

We got two sandwiches. The Rachel and salami pomodoro. Both were pretty good! The tomatoes were fresh. Bread was outstanding. Could have more meat/cheese.

I just want to commend the staff at Pear Deli for such a wonderful visit. I came to Seattle and Pike’s Place, in particular, as a tourist and had a wide variety of options for food, and I stumbled upon Pear Deli because of its inviting foods. I ordered at the counter, and a very nice lady took my lunch request; I ordered the Asian pork sandwich, the special of the day, and a latte. The woman asked if I wanted one or two shots in my 8 ounce latte, and I requested the double shot for a real pick me up. The latte was delicious, and almost unbelievably, the sandwich was even better. I honest to God savored and commented to my partner on how delicious every bite I took of the sandwich it was. The pork meat in the sandwich was reminiscent of the red pork in Chinese steamed buns, and the cole slaw in it was akin to Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches, so the sandwich as a whole was this amazing fusion combination. I highly recommend Pear Deli if you are almost overwhelmed by all of the options at the market!

It’s silly how many times I’ve walked by this place and not gone in. After one visit I can tell you it’s already a market favorite for me. First of all, the sign is adorable, how did that not entice me? Second, they have a bajillion types of soda sorted by type; lemon lime, sasparilla, orange, root beer, cherry, and the list goes on and on and on. They have breakfast until 2 and have soup, salad, and sandwiches. For my first visit, I selected the caesar and the pear grilled cheese and loved every minute. I’ll have to alternate between here and Beechers when the grilled cheese cravings strike. See you soon, Pear. Stay classy.

Highly underrated bottle shop at Pike’s Place Market. Lots of fridged beer and cider and an adjacent shelf with unrefrigerated beer. Huge selection, lots of local beer and cider. They even had some French Bordelet Perry bottles, the top rated pear cider in the world; and they were insanely delicious! They also were the only bottle shop in town to still have bombers of Fremont Cowiche Canyon, which is the best local IPA hands down. Shockingly awesome selection. A hidden gem. Do not miss! Honestly, they had more beer I was interested in here than in Bottleworks if that means anything.

We live in NYC and are blessed with a lot. With that said, these are the best sandwiches we ever had. No joke. Just look at the pics of the Reuben. How can you not? The place seems unassuming when you walk in, like a small farmers market store, but let your mouth decide and speak for you(bad pun).

While walking through the Market, we saw a vendor eating a bagel and lox and she directed us to Pear. The smoked salmon was absolutely delicious. Wish we would have found them on our first day in Seattle instead of our last.

What a great shop that has an amazing bottled beer and cider selection right at Pike’s Market. Yummy snacks, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, books, souvenirs and nice employees. Loved this place so much we went twice on our 3 day trip to Seattle!

This is a fantastic store to stop in while in Pike Place market. They have a huge selection of wine and beer(some of it even chilled). I was originally introduced to this place while on a food tour. In addition to hearing more about the store and the detail with which they select their wines, we were able to try a sample of their Rachel sandwich. It comes with roasted turkey, bacon, cranberry mayonnaise, tomato, cheddar cheese, and lettuce. It was sooooo good… so good in fact that I returned for a full-size version of the sandwich during a subsequent trip. They have tons of items in this store from all of their alcoholic beverages to chocolates to cheeses. They also sell items from other Pike Place stores(e.g., Chukar Cherries), which makes them a great stop when the other places are really busy. Finally, we love our port wines and one of the staff was able to recommend a few really good port wines in small blue bottles from either central or SA(shame I can’t remember). They were reasonably priced and very tasty. Great find in Pike Place Market.

Until recently, I had never been inside this store and I have no idea why. I’m sure I must have walked by it numerous times while wandering through Pike Place Market and I’m very upset for having never walked in before. So many awesome things in this place, I don’t even know where to begin. If you’re thirsty, there is a gigantic selection of beverages literally chilling within the cool confines of a massive wall of refrigeration. You will also find an amazing variety of specialty foods and novelties, you might end up spending more time just browsing than anything else although what you really come in here for is the prepared foods at their impressive deli counter. There are hot foods, sandwiches, desserts, entrees, and salads being prepared with furious precision by a small army of energetic employees who clearly enjoy what they do. When you walk in, you will be in awe of the amazing selection of cool stuff and by the time you leave, this store will meet every need or craving you ever thought you might have.

Pear makes some of my favorite sandwiches in the city. So far, I am hooked on their roast beef with blue cheese and their pear with gruyère and swiss cheeses. Pair that with either a soup or salad and you got a fresh tasty lunch! I also have tried their Mac and cheese, which I thought was just ok. Personally I prefer to walk over to Beecher’s for that. Aside from their sandwiches, they have a good variety of bottled sodas to choose from(blood orange and lavender lemonade being my go-to beverages). Pear also has a nice wine selection, specialty cheeses and candies to browse through. If you’re looking for a casual lunch spot or looking for specialty foods, Pear is the place to be.

Blown away! Why have I walked past the cute pear sign so many times at the Market? Today I finally walked in and discovered that right under my nose there’s been a little shop that had all the potential of being my favorite Market visit… all this time! One — I learned that the family that operates this store dates back to more than three generations deep in running local stores in Seattle. Two — in addition to selling the typical Coke products and beer brands we all love and recognize, they take great care in selecting small businesses to promote as well. Locally made or even made elsewhere in the US, the team of folks here that stock the shelves make sure to provide a wonderful selection of goods and gifts that everyone should know, love and support. I spotted unique things like Sriracha Popcorn(local company!), to spicy Habanero nuts, to literally over 100 bottles of beers from around the world. It was almost overwhelming! I stopped to ask some questions about their offerings and learn a bit of the store’s family history and also learned that the signs are all painted and made in-house. They’re so impressive! Take a look next time you’re there. All of the menus are hand-written in perfect lettering(the family also used to own a sign making company decades back!) and even the drawings are done by hand as well. The kid’s menu has this incredible dragon drawn on it, and if you look closely, the lettuce on the sandwich board is actually painted. It looks so realistic you’d think it was a photo! And I know it’s almost silly to write a big long review about a sign in a shop but it’s these small details that really show off just how special this store it. If they care enough about the presentation of their menus, imagine the thought that goes into making the actual food. It was recommended that I try the«downtown duck» sandwich. And good thing I asked for help ordering because it was absolutely stunning! Served on a lightly grilled, buttered brioche bun, it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in Seattle. The duck was extremely tender and flavorful and even the pickle that accompanied the sandwich was downright tasty. I almost never finish my pickle but this time I did. Things to check out: –The amazing soda selection. Some soda brands I’d never even heard of! –Bottled beers. There are dozens upon dozens of unique and awesome beers in their fridges. There’s an entire aisle dedicated to beer. Definitely the best selection you’ll find in Downtown Seattle. Want to grab n go? Perfect! They have a fridge section of pre-made meals and lunches. If you don’t have time to wait in line for a sandwich, they have some pre-made. I’m a total cheese nut. So I was also happy that right in the center of the store there’s a large cheese station with lots of offerings to look at and buy. And if that’s not all, look for local gifts, local cook books, and products like JonBoy Caramels, Theo Chocolate, Fran’s Chocolates, and more. The perfect store to stop in and buy just about anything you could need. Think 7 – 11 but actually AWESOME.
