Who knew that the coffee shop tucked inside the Chrome shop on First Avenue would be so good. These people are passionate about their coffee and there is always a cozy, congenial vibe going on. With perfect pours every time that don’t break the bank, it is my new fave downtown!

Motofish has an authentic Indian Chai that they don’t serve often, but will if you ask for it. It’s low in sugar, spicy, and perfect for rainy cyclocross races.

Coffee here is excellent, easily the best you’ll find in a 1 mile radius. They usually have a great selection of whole beans for sale and often donuts and other treats. The baristas are both excellent — very friendly, knowledgable and likable. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Don’t be fooled by the weak reviews on here. The coffee is on point. I usually get americanos or French press and I find the prices are competitive with the area. The shop is inside the chrome store so you can browse while you sip. Plus, The staff is always awesome, willing to listen to the bs of my day job and give good advice. I dig this place and its people. Shout out to amy, who makes a mean espresso and always rocks a smile.

I kept walking by this place and missing it as I didn’t see a coffee shop anywhere around. If it wasn’t for the sandwich board that was outside than I would’ve been walking around for another 10 minutes to find this place. This place is inside Chrome Industries clothing store. The combination of a small coffee shop inside a clothing store is something that is slowly picking up trend here in Vancouver, therefore, not surprised at this concept. This is a separate entity than the clothing store even though the staff work both the coffee shop and the clothing store at once. Quality was okay, not the best that I have had in the city so far or on other trips. A little expensive for a pour over, therefore, shared the coffee. No flavors and very little substitutions. Expected since it was a small shop but they didn’t have the basics covered. They did have majestic donuts. Lady working the machine was really nice, hence the decent rating.

$ 5.50 for a 12 oz pour-over is ridiculous. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt — because it could be the best pour-over ever… I was sadly mistaken. There is a reason the prices aren’t listed on their menus. Never again.

The coffee selection here is on point! Olympia coffee roasters makes some really great coffee, and they also carry Hart Coffee which is my new favorite. All of the baristas are nice and personable. They’ve definitely helped me to develop my coffee palate and grasp a finer appreciation for flavor complexity in coffee. Strongly recommend!

With Seattle’s plethora of food trucks, the Motofish MOG truck certainly stands out initially because of it’s behemoth, hulking outline– which seems more appropriate for hunting trolls than handing out coffee and representing the company’s downtown store. On top of that, Motofish has several coffee industry veterans behind its metaphorical and actual wheel, spawning from Café Vita, Seattle/Ballard Coffee Works, and other locations I’m not all that certain of. What I love about their truck especially is that I can get some quality, well sourced coffee that has been über-nerdly prepared. The truck also hangs out in my works parking lot a couple days a week(in Ballard), convenient for when I’m not downtown. Check their FB page in case you can’t make it to their café storefront, they update the moving’s of the truck daily.
