Since it was my first time in Seattle, I figured I should probably try some coffee in the coffee capital of the world. We already went to the original Pike Place Starbucks so we stopped by Cherry Street Coffee House on our walk over to the Sky View Observatory. When you walk inside the coffee house, you will go into the area on the right and order your drink. Then, you can go back out and go downstairs where there are tons of tables and couches, even a fireplace! There were a few people on their laptops, so I think it would be a great place to study.
I ordered the Milky Way and it was perfect for me. It wasn’t too sweet but it also didn’t have the distinct bitter coffee taste. I know… what’s the point of getting Seattle coffee if you’re not even getting real coffee… but at least I can say I had SOME kind of coffee in Seattle! You can order it «here» and it comes in glassware with pretty latte art! Or, grab it to go and walk around the corner to enjoy the scenery in Pioneer Square.

Good coffee and friendly service. The barista was talkative and seemed to enjoy talking to us about our hometown. The sparkling water served with macchiatos is a nice touch, never seen that before and it stood out.

$ 3.29 + tip for a 16oz DRIP?! Are you insane? Total rip off, even if the drip actually tasted good, which it doesn’t. I used to love this place. Never again.

I love Cherry Street! Great little local chain. I work across the street and frequently come by for lunch. Their falafel sandwich and tuna salad = amazing. I hear great things about their salads, too. A little pricy but worth it as it’s the best grab-n-go healthy and yummy lunch in the neighborhood. Espresso(decaf included) is pretty fantastic, too. Plus right now they are playing sweet throwback alt rock tunes instead of Christmas music … win!

1. Great food. Fast, delicious. 2. Always great service. It has to be a great work environment, everyone is always happy and chill as hell. 3. The punk rock boy — Drew. As in, the past tense of drawl. This dude is just cool. A few months ago, I was feeling particularly worn down, and confided in him that I may have been the most over-worked and exhausted I had ever been in my life. He empathized and commiserated with me, which was really all that I needed… but then, to my pure shock and surprise, he approached my table with a delicious little coffee drink(the espresso float) and told me I needed a little extra pick-me-up. It was such a small gift, but such a thoughtful moment, and such a delicious drink. It was the nicest and most genuine thing that happened to me that day. This guy deserves a raise.

Customer service is not good. The cashier and barista spent too much socializing with friends. The cashier rang everyone behind me up(5 people) before starting my breakfast sandwich. The only reason the line was so long is because she was gossiping with her friend in front of me.

We got hot chocolate and the caramel apple cider. Delicious and cute spot to just hang out and watch the rain fall.

Love this place. Nice people… quite location. Super good coffee and the baked goods are pretty awesome(that is if you get them… they are so good they sell out of a lot of things) Every time I need coffee and a place to relax and use wifi I go to any of the Cherry Street Coffee locations around Seattle!

Such a cute place! My honey and I were feeling like going out for a relaxing morning off and decided to finally try a Cherry St Coffee. We grabbed our books and headed downtown. The interior is so beautiful. Love the window seats with cushions, high tables, and beautiful bar area. The(super beautiful) girl who took our order was really sweet and warm. I loved the super weird(and slightly disturbing?!) local artist art on the wall. We ordered a cappuccino(best way to judge a café, in my opinion), a drip coffee, a egg & cheese bagel and a sausage, egg, and cheese… wrap? The coffee was good. Nothing *mind blowing* but it was good. The egg&cheese everything bagel sandwich was okay. It really could’ve used some salt and pepper. The bagel itself was good and I wished I had just gotten it with cream cheese. The wrap my boyfriend got was super good. I’m vegetarian so I didn’t take a big bite, but I tried a little of the wrap with the egg & cheese(it also had cream cheese on it! yum!) and it was super good. The wrap almost tasted just like a flat, soft bagel! We sat there, talked, and read for about 2 hours and never felt like we were an issue. Other people were on computers and doing business stuff and I love that. I hate when you feel like you’re taking up space when you hang out at a café for a while. All in all a nice experience and we’d go back :)

Being a new employee to 1st and Seneca, this little coffee shop is just across the street. The first few times I came in here I had a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The staff was great, helpful and knowledgeable, especially on my first visit helping me get acquainted with the menu. They have exquisite coffee and breakfast sandwiches. All these reasons leading up to the measly two stars. There was typically a sign by the front counter that had a list of the 10+ bagels, they would cross off ones sold out for that day. My 5th or so time coming in here I asked the girl(unsure of her name, just had a few facial piercings) at the register what bagels were available because the sign wasn’t there, she pointed at the deli area where there is a viewing of the bagels behind a plastic boxed in window and told me once I decide to get back in line. She could have easily taken an extra 30 seconds to tell me what was available and I would have placed my normal $ 10 order with a few dollar tip for a coffee and bagel sandwich. Instead, I happily walked out the door and down to Storyville, where I will continue to go, from this day forward!

Hard to write a review based off of one visit, but I definitely enjoyed our time at this little hole in the wall spot. Felt very cozy, low-key, not über-commercialized…seemed like we were welcome to stay & relax, and the vibe was totally chill. =) The staff was super nice, the drinks were good & reasonably priced for the coffeehouse atmosphere(we got raspberry Italian cream soda, decaf Americano, & some kind of iced coffee), and I LOVED the little table with the window seat and seat cushions! It was a great window to the outside world… fun just to sit & chat with friends, watch some of the drivers making illegal u-turns in the middle of the road – hee hee! – and ppl going by. Great art of the walls; seemed to be done so by the same artist, & it was all available for purchase!

Definitely a viable breakfast option not too far from Pike Place Market. Staff offer fast and reliable service. I tried the bacon egg bagel(jalapeño flavored) sandwich and was excellent. Coffee’s great here and there’s free water as well. Plenty of interesting things on the wall. I found the condom poster to be especially hillarious.

This place makes really solid coffee and a very good sandwich to go along with it. I haven’t tried their salads but one of the executives at my company told me they are great and said he gets them frequently. As for my experience I got the sausage and peppers sandwich with ricotta cheese and it was delicious! Also very reasonably priced for a sandwich downtown.

Interesting décor. Lots of extra tables in the back room(but the back room was for some reason very stuffy). Really nice staff. I liked my white chocolate mocha. Very clean and comfortable.

Pretty good for morning coffees and breakfast sandwiches. I would like to go back and try their lunch menu but seems a little expensive for a coffee shop. Their mocha is good. Sometimes a hit or miss. One day it will taste really good and other days the coffee taste burnt. Will def come back to try other items on the menu!

Had a nice breakfast here one morning — an oatmeal and a cappucino. While it was a simple meal, it was satisfying and the service was nice, and reasonably fast. Atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, though the chairs weren’t the overstuffed kind that are so nice to lounge in — they were more like the standard kitchen chairs that you get tired of sitting in after a bit.

On weekends this neighbourhood is dead. You’re surrounded by coffee shops, most of them corporate, all of them closed. Except Cherry Street, that weird caffeine complex which still feels like Seattle and not like Seattle, Inc. The coffee’s tasty, cheap, and available when you need it. If you’re one of the poor unfortunate slobs forced to travel downtown on a weekend, this is their island of safety amid the concrete glass and steel canyons creating an artificial wind tunnel on all sides.

I DIGIT. They have some cool, hilarious artwork on the walls and a delicious lox bagel that always comes with a generous spread of cream cheese. The espresso is alright. It gets packed in the mornings, understandably, because it’s in the heart of Downtown Seattle. The baristas, though, seem to have no personality at all. Or maybe they hate people? I have been in a few times and don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone act like she was pleased that I swung by and even tipped for my first meal of the day. What’s up with that?
