You want to buy a game? You want to play a game? You want to play a game before you buy it and enjoy a delicious sandwich and/or beverage while you do? Meeples has got you covered. Personally, I come here once a month to play D&D with my peeps, but the staff treat us like VIPs. They remember my name and Lord knows that’s difficult enough. TL;DR: if you play games, go to Meeples. You won’t be sorry.

Super place! The game selection here is quite excellent. Whether you are a hard core gamer or just looking for something to play with your family, you will undoubtedly have many amazing options. They have a designated space for trying out games(for which they have a massive library) in-store, which also serves as a place where they host various tournaments for specific games(usually collectible card games). They also have a surprisingly good and reasonably priced food in their café! We came in with my family, bought a handful of games, and played a couple while we were waiting for our food. The staff is both very knowledgeable and friendly. I give this place my highest recommendation!!!

This is an awesome spot in West Seattle. I went here to draft on a Saturday afternoon. The crowd here is much younger than other hobby shops. I’m in my earlier 20’s, but I was probably the oldest person at the store. The store is well setup, and has an energetic cast of crew members. Everyone is enthusiastic about playing and watching Magic. My only concern for this place is the cramped space. Maneuvering about the play area is hard, which makes it somewhat uncomfortable at times. Other then that, I think this is a fabulous place to draft at if you don’t mind interacting with younger children.

Meeples has opened my eyes to the world of quality board games! Their café space has a great atmosphere with good reasonably priced food and drinks. The staff is always super helpful in picking out games to play or buy depending on what I’m looking for. I love this place!

I’m approaching my 1 year anniversary since my discovery(re-discovery) of boardgames and owe it to Meeples for getting me into the world of gaming! This venue takes up a good floor space with separate tables for gaming, some reserved for specific nights and many for open gaming. Borrow from their library or bring your own, they also have quite a good menu if you’re into sandwiches, cheese boards, beer, and teas. The lighting is kind of bright for my taste but it’s a great environment for groups and they play late into the night. One cool night we interrupted gaming to gather on the balcony outside to watch the International Space Station fly by, it was a Big Bang moment for sure.

I used to always drive up north for my board games fix, so having a tabletop store in West Seattle is so awesome! There is off-street parking available that is accessed through an alleyway, however the entrance can be easily missed if there are cars parked along the street, so just be on the lookout. The store itself is located upstairs and it is absolutely fantastic! The games are organised by gameplay style thus making your search more easy and straightforward. The staff are also very friendly and knowledgable, and I always have a great convo with them each time I come in. Among the store also lies a library of games that you can try out before purchasing and a small café where you can order beer, wine, coffee, tea, and small snacks. If you’re a board game or card-playing nut, DEF make this store one of your destinations! You won’t regret it: D

Ok… I admit it… I’m a total board game nut! To be honest, I’m not sure who would not enjoy this place. Plenty of parking — free for 90 min in lot but I’m told there’s plenty of street parking for those who want to stay a while. Trust… if you like board games, you’ll likely stay a while. We came in to buy Sushi Go and ended up staying for 5 hours. This is the kind of place I only dreamed of existing when I was in high school! A spacious, well kept place with plenty of seating, some delicious looking food(I mean really… a brie, apple pesto sandwich? SOLD), tons of free board games to try, AND open late! My friends and I constantly debated where we would hang out when we wanted to continue the fun but our parents never wanted to let people over… saying the house wasn’t clean enough or other such nonsense. Not to say that this place is not for the adults with their selection of beers and ciders on tap! Next time, I will have to try a «Not Your Fathers Root Beer»! While you’re at it, why not check out the game«Coconuts» just for fun? :) They also have a membership program that will give you a credit once you buy enough merchandise supposedly totaling a 5% savings if the credits are used. NOTE: this place does need to make money so I would recommend checking prices before purchasing. I’m all for supporting local business but the asian in me can’t help but want to find the best deals.

Local gaming stores are hard to find that truly make you feel welcome. Past game stores that I have visited have that«creepiness» factor. That is not the case here. Meeples games has a decent selection. a nice café for snacks and such, and a very friendly staff. I have bought a few things from them, but if you ever need to order anything, they are really helpful in doing that. They just need to know what you would like. The owners Brian and Laura have created an atmosphere that many stores should strive to emulate. I am glad they are around even if I cannot go there consistently. Great place.

I literally live just a few blocks away from meeples so it’s super convenient to come here. They have fantastic business, and everything for the avid game player. You’ll more than likely enjoy your time here! Pros: — Are you buying or playing via the library there? Selections of board games range from super simple easy-to-play to cooperative, situational strategy, and complex mechanics. You get the full dose of everything here! — You can buy board games, magic cards, Pokemon cards, card cases/covers, expansions, almost everything that a gamer needs! — You can make reservations for a guaranteed table if you want to spend a few hours with your friends playing a great board game. — On certain days you can enter competitions and certain events where they have a theme of board games out to play such as «Zombie Night» — Bathrooms are well kept and there are 2 available. — DON’T BRINGOUTSIDEFOODANDDRINKS! They make money off of the inside café they have there! If you’re staying for a long time playing a board game you should be courteous and buy something to support their business. Cons: Not many! — If you come in large groups over 4 it’s harder to find seating because it gets crowded easily. — It does get loud at times so make sure you’re comfortable with that environment.

i take my kid to Pokemon camp here on Sundays. He love’s trading cards with the other kids. i like the food at the Café and they have gluten free sandwiches. Owner is very friendly. Also, you can play any game you want for free. It’s great to have this game shop in the neighborhood.

This place is seriously great. I met a friend here to peruse games and grab a pint.(Which is super neat in a game store.) We had some time, and asked the guy at the front counter for a suggestion for a two-player game. He suggested Splendor, and it was really the most fun I’ve had with a two-player game ever. We played three games of it, and would have continued had we not had places to be. I purchased a copy before leaving. The cider they have on tap is pretty good. It’s the most middle of the road cider I’ve had to date, and was very drinkable. Their game selection is pretty large. They have a wide variety of things. It’s all very well organized and presented. It was all quite comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back for my next game purchase.

I come here for board game nights and the community is great! There’s a bunch of tables, most of the time everyone is playing different games and people are super welcoming. They have a good selection of board games… Not so much party games, but every other kind. They also have sandwiches, a beer and a cider on tap, and a decent selection of teas. Not sure how they stay in business since most of the time people are gaming, not actually buying the games. But I hope they stick around because they’re a wonderful place for people who just love to play games.

Came in tonight with my BFF for the first time. Meeples is fantastic! Located on the second story of the business complex with the entrance in back, where the parking lot is, Meeples has a wide variety of games to choose from. I’m not a gaming nerd by any means, but I enjoy a board game occasionally. This was my first time going to a store to play a board game, and as we looked around, there were some games I recognized like Monopoly, Ticket To Ride, Catan and D&D with many, many more I had never heard of. They also have many of the cards available for card role playing games such as Magic. They also had a rack of figures and game pieces to take home and be painted. They have a good assortment of games from the classic to brand new, from fast paced card games to multiple hour strategy and RP games to borrow and play for free in their gaming room. The guy that went over what games we could play in the short time we had left while they were open was really sweet and took great patience explaining some of the new games to us. There is also a café that has a variety of snacks, small bites, salads, sandwiches and sweets like Rice Krispy treats and cookies. They also have beer on tap, wine, and the usual coffee, soda, and other non-alcoholic beverages. I was thrilled with the free lemon water! You bus your own table, which seems appropriate in this type of store. We have planned on coming back when it’s not so close to closing time to play a longer game.

Fabulous! Wonderful! Great prices on food and drink! Meeples is a great place to go for some fun with friends! The Games– I love that you can check out board games; I went with friends who had played the Firefly board game and had a blast(of course it is awesome, just like the show which should have NEVER been cancelled). While we came with a specific game in mind, their game library is HUGE. I am pretty sure you could go to Meeples every day for a month and not get bored with their game selection. The tables were large and game friendly. Additionally, there were tons of games for purchase, and it’s great to purchase games from a local business rather than a conglomo like Target. The Food/Beverage– I really expected to pay higher prices than I did for convenience factor, but Meeples, beings super awesome, has a very square deal on their food and drink. I rocked some hard cider on tap that came at a great price. They also have a wonderful selection of food at equally great prices– everything from sandwiches, to cookies, to peanuts. Also, I went on a Friday night, and I know it would have been difficult to find anything priced better in West Seattle. The place was packed, but the service was quick, and there was food enjoyed by both adults and kids. The Space– Clean, well organized, well lit, and charming! They do a great job of making the space look nice and flow well. I will definitely be back to Meeples soon! Great place, great food, great service!

Awesome D&D sessions for beginners on Sunday evenings! Older, basic guides and rule sets apply. Levels 1 – 3 to start. Come through a little early to roll a character limited only by your imagination!!! I’ve been playing for a month or so, and Eric is a fun and accommodating DM. Rule of 20 applies! ;-)

During my four-day stay at Seattle, I managed to go to two different board game cafes four times. Half of the time I was at Meeples Games. The store sits atop another business in its own little corner of California Ave. Keep an eye out for the lil’ meeple sign! The inside is everything an avid board gamer can imagine! A buttload of games all categorized for example adventure, scifi, Euro, and even planes or trains! Such organization *insert heart eyes emoji here* People are able to come in and demo games from their library! I really love this concept and it has given the boy and I a chance to test out future games we might want to add to our collection. In addition to board games, Meeples has an attached café that offers food and drink items like coffee and charcuterie/cheese plates. How sophisticated! If you’re in the middle of a game, the workers even bring what you ordered to your table so you don’t miss out on anything. What more do you need to reel in customers? Nothing really! If only Meeples was 850 miles closer to me… Ooh the things I would do.

I’ve been curious about this place since they opened in May. We decided to head over and check out the space for possible RPG purposes. When we entered the store, we were greeted immediately by the employee on the register. Meeples is well-lit and easily laid out. Games were arranged well and their lending library was kept behind the register. After looking around for a bit, spoke at length with Jeff, the employee manning the register and floor. While we spoke, he answered all of our questions with ease and would check on other people in the store. The space is bisected by the store proper with gaming areas on both sides. On one side, there’s the Mana Café with casual game space for 30. On the other side, The Thunderdome provides a more competitive play /tournament area and seats 36. Tables could be reserved for organised play events or in advance via email, otherwise they were open-play. And if you need it, they have lockers for your stuff while you are playing. We had dinner earlier so I didn’t get to try any of the café offerings. Their drinks included espresso and coffee drinks(True North), a selection of teas(Tao of Tea), rotating local brews(beer and cider) on tap, sodas, with local pastries and snacks. If you were hungrier, the menu offered a good selection of items(snacks, salads, and sandwiches) that seemed appealing. There are also larger shared plates with meats, cheeses, and fruits. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan-friendly too! Connor was super-friendly also, and he came out a couple times to wipe down tables and straighten the chairs. The entire space was very clean overall with ample lighting and no pressure to vacate the tables. Street parking available and a free private lot with a 90-minute time limit. The store is ADA accessible with an elevator that reaches the second floor. I would return here to play some games and have a snack, most definitely!
