We wanted a washer & dryer combo installed in one of our bedrooms so we would no longer have to descend steep stairs to the basement laundry area. The company owner, Guy Marquiss, made a preliminary visit to help us identify the best location for the washer-dryer combo, which turned out to be inside one of the closets in the master bedroom. The work involved prepping the interior of the closet, cutting sheet rock and plaster, flooring and shelving as needed; installing new electrical and plumbing — including copper pipes, washer box, dryer vent, cutting exterior bricks and installing necessary valves as needed. It also included sheetrock, tape, mud, and finish carpentry and trim, painting and removing all debris, as well as installing the washer-dryer combo. Estimated time was 1 week. The two men who worked here were capable and competent, and pleasant to have around. Every day they put up a floor-to-ceiling plastic screen to contain the work area and debris. At the end of each day, they removed the debris and the plastic screen and vacuumed the floor before they left, so it was easy for us to use the room during the evening and overnight. They ensured that we knew ahead of time about the brief periods that the water had to be turned off. After they hooked up the new washing machine, they ran it through a complete test cycle before deciding that the job was complete. The project came in on time and on budget. We have used Marquiss Construction before and we are once more completely satisfied with their work,
