Slightly expensive for what you get, but good food.

Cosy little place. The desserts are ok. We went in on a Saturday afternoon and the selection was low. Almost everything was gone so I am not sure when they restock. It is also a bit pricey for what you get. HOWEVER, their coffee is awesome! I really enjoyed it a lot. Definitely worth coming back for.

Definitely recommend their macaroons and tiramisu! You can tell their macaroons are homemade, but don’t judge it by its cover. The macaroons are moist and not too sweet, and has a lot of flavor! The tiramisu is really to die for: the equal blend of cream and coffee!

A small piece of cake for 5.5? Really expensive! Go there for the fruit cake(Asian bakery dessert) which I can’t find anywhere else on the ave. Good for the location only.

Their dessert is absolutely fabulous. I tried the tiramisu and an original cheesecake. I would have given a five if they only had dessert and not food. Their food is really depressing. I got a combo tempura don and the veggies were dull. There wasn’t enough sauce or flavor. In short, it’s a must try place for dessert, but don’t get their food. Try the Korea tofu house across the street or the green house restaurant instead for some great Korean food.

Having visited here for food, pastries, and cakes, I have realized there are certain things they are great at while other things are not. Pastries: Previously tried their macarons, napoleons, pies madeleines… Other than their decent pies and madeleines, wouldn’t recommend the other two. Almond flour doesnt seem to be sifted properly and they seem to use granulated sugar instead of confectioners in their macarons– evident by their lumpy and grainy texture. Food: only tried their udon. Not too bad except its too salty and over priced($ 9) Cake: THIS is where it’s at! Their green tea and regular tiramisu is probably the best things they have in the bakery! It may be $ 5 a piece, I think it’s worth it(:

The desserts at this place are fine, especially the Korean fluffy fruit cake… But don’t order the food. The portions are small and the food is soggy. The only good thing about ordering food from this place is the wait time. But honestly it’s not that impressive because the food is served at a very low quality. The cashier(who I think was the owner) wasn’t welcoming and the table was so sticky, probably because they ask you to bus your own table. Dirty dirty dirty. Wiping my ass with $ 20 would have been a more useful place to spend my money than buying food from this restaurant.

I ordered the caramel-banana and pistachio macaroons, as well as the green tea tiramisu. The tiramisu: Had good texture, though the cream on top was partially frozen. The green tea flavor could have been stronger, though I understand why they toned it down. The macaroons: Definitely not on par with other macaroons available in Seattle, especially at their price point. Presentation was sloppy and the filling was a lackluster butter cream. The atmosphere is adorable and the staff is pleasant. I plan on giving it another shot, but I am not going to hold my breath for better.

I’ve never been interested in macaroons and never found them particularly tasty but these macaroons are amazing! I crave these things. They are just amazing. I’ve only had one other thing– chocolate cake. It was okay, nothing to rave about like the macaroons though. Service isn’t that great and I’m not crazy about the place. It’s a little dirty/ugly. I think that is sort of the look they are going for. I’m more of a modern décor type of person. My husband on the other hand loved the style. It’s just a matter of taste. Go get some macaroons now!

Madeleine has always been that place I walked past a million times on my dinner quests with friends. The eternal question«Where should we eat?» rarely ends at Madeleine. But this place is underappreciated! This place isn’t always the first that comes to mind for lunch or dinner, but Madeleine has quite a selection of food that is pretty good! I’ve ordered the udon, katsu, and salmon don – salmon is my favorite but be sure to ask for it on the side instead of on the rice unless you like your fish half cooked. Mostly, I drop in to Madeleine in the afternoons I’m around the Ave to grab a macaron. It seems to be the only place on the Ave that sells them! I’ve seen prettier macarons, but they’re still delicious!

Very nice people. I bought four different varieties of cake to take to a party, and while I didn’t eat them(can’t, allergies) they did go over well. Especially Nutella Cheesecake. The woman who helped me had her family there eating and they were very nice and I felt bad interrupting their dinner, but also it made me feel good that this was a real family business. It was nice to see a family eating dinner together too. I would buy more cakes here for other people. I would buy cakes for myself if I could eat them. SADFACE.

$ 9 for 6 macarons. Pistachio, blueberry, vanilla, green tea, strawberry, and banana caramel. Ranking in that order. Why? The very first time I tried the macarons they were amazing, but this time. what happened? The pistachio, blueberry, vanilla had the normal texture of a well made macaron, and tasted fine. Though the fillings were not defined, they accented the macarons well. As for the remaining three flavors, they were quite dry and the filings were not good. The banana caramel was one I was extremely skeptical of; my worst fear was confirmed. It’s difficult to not enjoy eating a macaron, but after being heavily disappointed, the excitement and joy fell away. At least they were pretty to look at before being destroyed. I will hang onto the hope that these were just flukes because the first time really was amazing.

Macaroons macaroons macaroons. They are always stocked with lots of flavors. I love theses macaroons. One of my favorite special treats on the ave. The brownies by the register are super yummy too. And the cashier is always very sweet.

My favorite place to study at. I absolutely adore the owners. They have a cute child who sometimes runs around and cracks up real loud, but she is so precious. Her mom’s pretty good about telling her to play in her area, but she’s a good distraction. I can tell they’re tried sometimes running a business and taking care of her after school, but that’s why they’re so awesome. They still smile and kindly apologize(even though they don’t need to!) I sit in this small corner with the city buildings wallpaper in the background, I feel cozy back there and it’s perfect for me and another study partner. You get to see students walking back and forth outside it’s quite interesting if you like people watching. As for the food, I don’t like ordering the rice plates, but I do think their UDON is delicious. They have really cheap macarons. I would say they are the only café on The Ave with macarons, so if you’re too lazy to go downtown and get some this is the spot to go to. It’s real convenient if you’re a student too cause it’s a block away from campus. Also, if you want a quick dessert they have super good tiramisu(a little stronger on the coffee) and fruit cake!

The thing about this place is it *could* have been a good experience. However the woman up front who takes your order and brings you your food is rude. The portion of bulgogi is quite small; when I made a friendly remark about it, she stormed off. Further, don’t dare ask for napkins: they are quite stingy with them. Also, the owners children were in the store keeping up a ruckus — definitely not a place you’d want to bring a date. To top it off, the food was about average. I think there are better places for your dollar in the U. District, such as Samurai Noodle. We only came here because Samurai Noodle was closed at the time.

I went here with a friend for dinner. I tried the curry udon because my roommate is obsessed with it and always talks about it. My friend ordered the kimchi fried rice and we split a green tea tieramisu. The udon had a really nice curry flavor and wasn’t too spicy for a wimp like me. The kimchi was also pretty good and had a big serving size for a reasonable price. The green tea tieramisu was pretty good too but I thought it was too pricey.

This is a cute shop, the desserts look yummy, I was eyeing the macaroons– but at $ 1.50 a piece I had to pass. There are other shops in Seattle that make a little more substantial cookie at a lesser cost. What I did have there was the Eel Don(rice bowl), the eel didn’t taste fresh and but one good thing was that it wasn’t drenched in sauce. The rice was equally as good, light sauce just to add the right amount of flavor. The seating situation wasn’t that great, I was seated next to the door, it was the lesser of two evils, the other option was to be in a cramped corner. There were other options but it was already full and it didn’t seem like any space would free up soon.

This café is so cute and the atmosphere is cozy. I love the little private corners the café has. I usually go to those hidden corners where I want to talk privately with a friend, or if I just want to be at a spot alone. I go here for desserts and a cup of americano. It reminds of the small bakeries in Korea, and yes, the owners are Korean. I always get the whipped cream, fruit cake. Simply delicious. I get sick of eating frosting cakes, but I will never get sick of their cakes here! I’ve also tried their red velvet, sweet potato cake, and tiramisu. They are all really good, but it can be a little pricey. It is afterall an asian-style cake. I go here to treat myself something good, so once in a while, I’m willing to spend some money for the cakes! It’s a better place to talk/chill with friend than Starbucks where it’s always packed with people. There is wi-fi here so you can study too.

~This review is for when they first opened, so I’m not sure if it’s gotten better~ I ordered the special, which turned out to be this weird American-Korean-Mexican mixture of chopped up hot dog, Korean noodle, cabbage, and tortilla with a dollop of sour cream on top. It was the strangest dish I’d ever eaten [SEEPHOTO]. My friend ordered a sandwich. The bread(which looked like Wonder Bread) was soggy because of the sauce they used on it. It wasn’t even toasted. On top of this, their bakery goods were quite dry. Nonetheless, I liked the pastry we shared the best because I thought the other two dishes were so poor.: | I hope that they have improved since that day…
