Guy’s Barber & Style Shop

5 stars for Rick. He’s the best damn barber around and makes the other guys in the U District look like butchers! It’s been a year or so since I’ve moved back to California, but I often think about how I’m missing out on a great cut and great conversation at Guy’s. 5 stars to Rick!

If you’re looking for a great haircut in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, go to Guy’s.
Rick is a pro. He’ll memorize your cut… just say «the usual» and you’ll get the same cut, exactly as you want it, every time. Each visit you’ll pick up a conversation based on your last… Rick will remember what’s going on in your life and genuinely cares about his customers.
Can’t recommend it enough. Visit Guy’s once and you’ll never look for another barber shop.

If you are just looking for a quick get-​in/​get-​out hair cut this is not your place. If you are looking for a place that is like Cheers, only with scissors and clippers, this is your place! If you like playing cribbage with other regulars this is your place! If you like your barber to give a damn that you look good, this is your place!

I enjoy a good haircut and every time I’ve moved it was painful to find a good place. I’ve tried many, from the cheap just up the street to a very expensive in the Eastside. None is better than Rick.
It’s fun, relatively inexpensive and Rick provides a great service. My wife only approved Rick and the very expensive one, but even she liked Rick’s haircut best.
And you can play Crib.

I’ve been going here for probably ten years now, and it’s great. It’s one of those few remaining barbershops that really function as a community center. While getting your hair cut by the talented and personable Rick, people from around the U District wander in and sit down to play a game of cribbage and talk about the football game. And of course, your hair is always cut just right!

I’ve been looking for a good barber shop in Seattle for several years and have finally found it in Guy’s.
I have several requirements that have to be met before I can call something a good barber shop and Guy’s (and Rick) hit all the points. Is it a one or two man show, are you going to get the same folks each time? Yep. Is it a pleasant place to hang, read a magazine, and shoot the breeze before and after your cut? Yep. Will folks talk about sport, fishing, business, family life, and politics? Yep. Is it a club for fellows, but not in a posturing macho fashion? Yep. Does the barber know everyone in the neighborhood and spin a good yarn? Yep.
Guy’s is a good choice if you are looking for a barber shop in the classic style, one that’s been around and is focused on cultivating a loyal group in the community.

It’s pretty much a one man show around here since Guy retired, but Rick’s been around for many, many years and he does a great job. Very personable, and my tough-​to-​handle hair always looks great! Be sure to get an appointment — Rick is always very busy!
