Late Night Elite Event @ Yard House

As always, Katy and Marc did a wonderful job putting this event together. So much swag to be handed out; tons of Unilocal branded gear and a gift card for Yard House (very unexpected, but a classy move Yard House, hats off to you).
Per the usual, we had almost free run of the bar, and they’ve got quite the drink list to sample. Since I don’t enjoy beer, I stuck with mixed drinks and was pleased with the results. Several nice concoctions and most poured with a heavy hand. Not sure if that’s just because Unilocal was in the house, or if it’s SOP, but either way, I’m not complaining.
Severs (great wait staff here btw) came around with a bunch of different kinds of appetizer samplers, including their new Vampire Taco (nice flavor, the shell was way too heavy). This was my only complaint about the evening, the variety of food. It was one fried thing after another, and while it was tasty for the most part, mixing something lighter in the mix would’ve been a nice change of pace.
It was a great event, and never having been to Yard House before, I’m glad I got a chance to experience. I’ll be back soon to use my gift card and check out a few lighter appetizer items.

When I walked into the event, my first thought was that it was faaaancy. Servers were great at explaining how the event would be going and attentive to get all the drink orders. There were plenty of appetizers to try. after trying so many bites, I think my favorite was the margherita pizza. The roasted garlic on top was super creamy and so perfect, albeit untraditional. But I enjoyed all the other bites we had. The vegetarian chicken wings get an honorable mention because I thought they were convincingly like chicken.
The open bar was pretty great though. It was great to be able to try so many of the drinks on the menu (sips shared among friends included) and all of them (except the skinny capirinha) were delicious. I would come back for all their mules though. Favorite was definitely the peach cobbler mule — spicy, sparkly, and sweet.
Lovely small event so it was a great space to meet new people and actually have a conversation. Thanks Katy and Marc for putting together such a nice event!

This was truly one of my favorite events recently, other than the miniature golf at Flatstick pub.
The portion sizes were unbelievable and each table got a different entrée, which made for some spontaneous socializing. I thought that this setup was genius. The food was delicious and, although most of it was a little too rich for me, it was all in bite-​sized pieces and easy to eat while talking. Everything was warm and cooked perfectly. At first, it seemed the food would run out too fast, but they just kept bringing more! Some tables even had a slew of dishes left over on their table when they left, which meant for a quick snag of some extra buffalo wings.
The entrée I enjoyed the most was the queso. It had some big globs and the texture was nice and the flavor was almost overpowering. Of course I had to limit myself, but it was exciting to have a cheat meal after a long dieting period I’ve been on lately (I think this made the food taste even more delectable, haha).
They even had the full drink menu available, which is rare for an elite event and always a welcomed feature. The cocktails they had were awesome, and I was grateful that they put the caloric values right next to each of them on the menu. I chose some agave citrus one and it was just the right amount of sweetness and was one of their lighter drinks.
I was able to meet some new people at this event, since there was a more intimate and small-​table setup. These are always the events I enjoy the most, just like at the Kaisho party a number of months ago.
The gift bags were highly organized and the shirts are a superb quality and design. I am looking forward to wearing mine a lot and actually liking it. :) Also, the gift cards were too much and I wasn’t expecting them to go so far after they had provided us with so much hospitality.
Seriously, this event was amazing and I’m looking forward to going back to Yard House, as the entrees were not my usual picks but they have such an extensive menu that i’m sure that I will find something that is perfect for me.

Awesome late-​night Unilocal event!
I had never been to Yard House as I am still fairly new to Seattle but glad to have stopped in. The place is dimly lit with plenty of TVs to watch sports and modern décor.
We had an area all to ourselves… and low and behold SWAG BAGS! T-​shirts, rain gear, towels, ice trays, and a gift card! Seriously probably the most generous swag I’ve received.
The YH menu is vast and we were given the opportunity to seriously sample any drink on the menu. For starters I tried one of their ‘skinny’ Juniper drinks. With gin, cucumber, and strawberry, it was delightfully refreshing.
As the food started coming out to the tables I was able to sample the buffalo chicken, pizza, the burger sliders, and egg rolls.
Everything we tried was pretty alright. Not the greatest, but not bad either. A nice selection of offerings.
My one qualm is not everyone got to try everything they were offering.
I wished instead of just dropping off random plates at tables they made it a little more evened out or had passed stuff around like they did the sliders and pizza. Our table got 3 plates of buffalo chicken but didn’t get a chance to try anything else like the firecracker chicken, dip, etc. By far the egg rolls were the winner in my opinion.
Sadly enough our table was not presented with the Vampire Taco. It was what we were waiting all night for! Hopefully some other elites can shed some light as to how it was :)
The second drink I ordered was the Rum Pumpkin Spice drink. Again, delicious. Pumpkin hard cider and rum made for a wonderful and tasty fall drink.
All in all it was a nice night to just hang out with fellow elites, chat, catch the Houston and LA b-​ball game, and eat/​drink some tasty treats.
The food was pretty good and didn’t have a single thing that wasn’t decent.

I’ve been to other Unilocal events in the past but only as a +1 but never as an elite! Katy and Marc made sure my guest and I were welcomed, and gave us the low down of the evening. We grabbed our swag (t-​shirt, rain poncho, towel, fingerless gloves, ice cube tray, and a $ 25 gift certificate back to the Yard House– woo!) before grabbing ourselves seats.
The service at the Yard House started off strong, coming by and asking if we had given our drink order at least four times! (Did I mention it was open bar?!) It’s a big space so I’d suggest the Yard House to my friends if I wanted to watch a game at a bar.
The food and drinks are of your typical sports bar. Mostly everything we tried was fried, which is perfect for those days when you’re just hanging out, watching sports, drinking and you need some food to soak it all up. Can I just say, their food and drink menu is HUGE. There’s something there for everybody! (including vegetarians as I sampled their fake-​meat firecracker dish).
It was such a fun event meeting other Unilocalers, I couldn’t believe that two hours flew by so quickly! I can’t wait for the next event :)

I always leave a Unilocal EE thinking, «Can Katy and Marc top this one?!» And they always always always do. Teach me your ways!
We were warmly welcomed into a privately sectioned off space. Katy and Marc checked us in and they showed us to some amazing swag bags that had a Unilocal poncho, Yard House tee, and a gift card! We also could have picked up fingerless Unilocal gloves, Unilocal towels, and Unilocal ice trays. Unilocal me up!
The servers came around to each table and took our drink orders and dispersed food. Yard House not only has 118 beers on tap but also 7 different mules! They had a nice craft beer and cider list which made me happy. If you’re into the basic beers, they had those too but come on, let’s not be basic :) I ADORED the light and crisp honey beer they served. Having sat at the bar prior to the event, I know that their brews come in 3 different sizes. A pint of craft beer came to about $ 7!
The event was a preview of Yard House’s NEW late night happy hour so we were able to taste A LOT of their new late night menu. The menu looked like this (* denotes what we got to try):

–chicken wings (boneless or traditional)*
–chicken garlic noodles
–fried chicken strips

Their highlight had to be the taco:
Vampire Taco: cheese crusted tortilla with carnitas, bacon chorizo, chipotle salsa, roasted garlic, cumin crema, guacamole and cilantro. I really enjoyed the cheese crusted tortilla! I wish the taco was spicy though.
Not on the menu above but they also provided us with a few types of pizza. I thoroughly enjoyed the thai chicken one :)
I enjoyed the food because I saw it as basic bar food. The service and ambiance was great. We were provided with sooooo much food and drinks. I thought someone had to roll me out of there. I really like beer so I can definitely see myself coming here more when I’m downtown. I usually go to rn74 so if I’m feeling more sporty, I’ll definitely come here.

Glad I got in for this Unilocal event! Service was great especially since it was an open bar. They were very attentive and served a lot of various appetizers. I probably tried about 6 different things including their new item, the vampire taco. Definitely a heavy appetizer! It had a nice crunchy shell. I also had the onion rings, queso dip, vegetarian chicken wings (firecracker), boneless buffalo wings, sliders, and mushroom and pepperoni pizza. Decent food all around. I’ve definitely had better appetizers from Yard House during their happy hour.

The service was good but the food was pretty terrible… On par with freezer food. Yardhouse definitely didn’t put their best foot forward here. At least there was a gift certificate and open bar to make up for the food. It was definitely a well planned and executed event though –5stars! Thanks to Katy and Marc for all their hard work planning and organizing!

Such a fun night!
Katy and Marc made sure my guest and I were welcomed and had a chance to connect with other guests. We grabbed our swags bags after arriving, but didn’t open them until we got home. The gift certificate was a nice and unexpected surprised. And I liked the t-​shirt so much that I actually decided to rock it to work today.
We were among the first ones to arrive and pretty much the last ones to leave. I had a chance to chat with the GM throughout the night and he is friendly, attentive and very knowledgable. He suggested the Strawberry Fields Martini and it was simply amazing.
This was my first time visiting the Yard House and I can’t wait to go back! I love the modern décor, lighting and of course, the big screens and large selection of beer. The staff was extremely polite and accommodating. They always made sure everyone had plenty of food and a drink.
Everything we tried was delicious. The spinach dip seemed to be the one people weren’t really loving, but I found it great for a happy hour menu. In my opinion, the Queso dip was the winner! We couldn’t have enough of it.
I am looking forward to the upcoming events and having a chance to connect with other Unilocalers. Thanks Unilocal for the awesome night and thanks Katy and Marc for all your hard work. You guys rock!
