While I still believe this is the best sushi joint in town, I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to go here anymore. I’ve recently been diagnosed with diabetes and can no longer eat white rice. Sadly, they do not offer a brown rice option. :(

Our new favorite sushi place! The pork dumplings, sashimi, spicy tuna roll, and Seattle tempura roll were so delicious. I highly recommend. We will be back.

I dont agree with any of the comments saying the food is excellent. My family eats sushi many times a month and this is by far one of the worst sushi places I have ever eaten at. We ordered the soft shell crab and found the texture to be odd and the taste bland. Left other food partially eaten on the table.

I would give this restaurant 10 stars if i could. Very courteous service by waitress and the chef. Awesome food and best of all very fresh and exquisite sashimi and nigiri sushi. I am a sushi enthusiast and i know fresh sushi when i taste it. The boat sashimi is a piece of art and delicious. I would highly recommend.

This is a really cute sushi spot camouflaged as a little house in North Seattle. My mom and I checked it out for dinner a few weeks ago, and were really pleasantly surprised. First off, it’s very small. From my observation alone, I’m not sure if parties over four people would fit comfortably here. We got here about six, and it was full by the time we left with more people waiting to be seated. The food menu isn’t giant, but what I tasted was really, really good. We sampled the miso soup(standard, delicious), the seaweed salad(really good flavor and texture), tempura veggies and prawns(classic perfection) and two sushi rolls. Each roll had 5 pieces, but each piece was about twice as large in diameter as your average piece, so it was a pretty good amount of food. We had the vegetarian futomaki roll(inari, egg, cucumber, avocado, and burdock root) and the poki roll(shrimp, cucumber, tuna, crunchy tempura bits). Each was delicious, and they were distinctly different. That was a pretty good amount of food for two people, and things were really inexpensive. I would definitely come again!

I dont understand why this place review is so good. Overpriced and takes way to long to come out. We ordered 2 roll and it took 1 hour to come out. It’s not that good sushi as other say

I got the sushi combo for lunch it was the best sushi I’ve ever had fish wise. Literally melted, every piece was delicious. The crab in the California rolls. Seemed to be fresh.

I’ve been here a few times already and I always leave feeling satisfied. The service is great, the sushi is great, the atmosphere is very homey(it’s basically a house) and food comes in a reasonable amount of time. Definitely count on being a regular.

Fantastic food, awesome ambience, polite and excellent service. The chicken katsu don was amazing and with a good sized helping. The salmon nigiri and rolls were well prepared and with great flavor and taste. Friendly hostess at the family fun restaurant made the whole dining experience perfect.

We had dinner at this quiet, at-home style place on a Saturday. Was pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was, including the side salad. Chirashi sushi: every bite of fish was fresh and fulfilling. Rice was seasoned very well and balanced well with the fish. Best piece was the shime saba with not overpowering pickling. Definitely better than some you might find in high-end sushi restaurants. Grilled saba: juicy piece of fish with very an awesome dipping sauce. Our two-year old loved it. ‘Nuff said. Yakisoba: lots of ingredients and tender noodles(not overcooked or over sauced). Bad/mediocre yakisoba cooked in a hurry would have burnt eggs and raw/hard cabbages. This plate was cooked perfectly. Would definitely come again!

Didn’t get to take the picture before… Started to eat and just couldn’t stop! Nice to have quality sushi at a place like this. It looks like a house but don’t let the exterior full you. We were greeted warmly right from opening the door! Warm smile and warm atmosphere. We will be back again! Here is a picture of after…

I absolutely love this place. It’s like a home away from home. So my friends are always trying to drag me out to eat sushi, which I hate(like a lot). Then one day I walked into this amazing, quaint place and was greeted by Sandra(just the sweetest). She brought me the chicken katsu don and I’ve been in love ever since. THEN, Brittany happened! Words cannot describe how awesome, and delightfully quirky she is. I’m typically an unpleasant East Coaster when in public that’s a tad demanding. It all melts away with her acute attention to detail and general fabulousity!!! And to top it all off, THEFOODISDELICIOUS. I get to relate to other humans that are just the kindest, and have wonderful food at a reasonable, low-key restaurant. It doesn’t get any better than this.

To start, the sushi was excellent. Nothing I can say to talk down on that. If you plan on coming here, keep in mind that this place serves almost strictly sushi. Not Japanese food. Sushi. I take them down a peg for service. although we were seated pretty promptly, there was seemingly 1 waitress for the entire place which was very busy. It seemed like everyone was feeling as though they were forgotten. Customers were asking repeatedly for their bill and we waited for a long time to order our food. Continually, we were waiting on water(this probably comes up often in my reviews but keeping a beverage full is kind of 101 when it comes to serving basics). The calamari was a bit odd as they chose to go a non-traditional route compared to other sushi places I’ve been. The breading was reminiscent of onion rings and the squid itself was fairly tough/chewy. If you’re really looking for good sushi, I have no doubt that this place will hit the mark but I’m just hoping they were having an off night for service. You might skip the calamari if you’re a connoisseur.

*I am almost torn between 3 and 4 but they did have one of the finest salmon skin hand rolls I have ever eaten *Pretty limited selection of nigiri and their rolls are almost all flame broiled and americanized but the taste was good *Real diner style atmosphere in an old house, decent go to place but makes me yearn for Kappo Tamura

Located at 323 N 145th St, Seattle lies Kiriba Sushi. Yet another fun and trendy authentic sushi bar and Japanese restaurant. Upon arriving at the restaurant, you will notice how quaint and simple the exterior looks and inside is nothing short of homey, contemporary, and inviting atmosphere. Either sit at a table or enjoy dining on the sushi bar and watch as the chef works his magic with your food. From the basics like spicy tuna rolls to California rolls, they don’t fall short for they serve quite the unsual yet satisfying selections of hand rolls, nigiri rolls, maki rolls, and chirashizushi. If your craving something a little more heavy, the beef curry is worth trying. However, I did find their curry to be a bit soupy, preferably I like mine thick and rich. Also, it could sit a little longer on the stove to help amplify the flavor but nontheless it was still very tasty and perfect for the cold weather. The tempura platter is also a must try for those who like their food deep fried to perfection. And just in case you are feeling tired of sushi, they still serve classic Japanese dishes to tantilize your taste buds such as yakisoba, udon noodles and ramen, and various other dishes. Another favorite of mine is the Sea Lovers salad, a great blend of assorted raw fish chopped up and blended with seaweed, lettuce, and a ginger shoyu dressing… it is absolutely amazing! A definite must try salad when you visit Kiriba. Whatever the case and whatever you’re in the mood for, if its Japanese food your craving Kiriba might be the place for you!
