I am from Memphis, so suffice it to say I grew up with only the best BBQ. My Husband convinced me to go and of course I was skeptical. Believe me when I tell you that if you enjoy authentic southern BBQ Jone’s has it. The portions are huge and the prices are excellent.

This place serves proper Louisana/East Texas wet BBQ. They also make a fine peach cobbler. Have never had a bad meal in the 6 years that we have been coming here. They only have three small tables so if you are planning on eating here on a Saturday night, make other plans. Take your food and go next door to the brewery or take it home and drink your own cold beer as they do not serve here. The brisket is top notch. They have two tvs and the game is always on. Family run place where the staff will joke with you and complaining g about the speed of your order will get you made fun of with quick athority.

My wife and I just came from having a fantastic meal at Jones Bar-B-Q. I understand that a new crew is running the place now, so if you haven’t been by in awhile you should make a beeline. The ribs were literally melt-in-your-mouth tender. The sauce was the perfect blend of smoky and sweet. The potato salad was church social style-creamy and delicious. The greens were stellar, not too salty and just the right kind of bitter. The cole slaw was fresh, mild and tasty dressing, not all mayonnaise-y. We brought the banana pudding home for later because, dang, we were full! And the service was marvelous. Kristina was our hostess and she made us feel like we were in her house. Generous, funny, friendly, and down home. We need to make sure these folks stay in the neighborhood. Git on over there ! 5 stars!

Having lived in San Antonio & Houston for 14+ years I can say, Jones is the BEST Texas style BBQ in Seattle, bar-none! On top of that, they’re always sweet, helpful & take extra care to get your order right. West Seattle is soooo lucky to have them on their doorstep.

The guy came and brought us our food next door, that itself is amazing. The serving sizes are more than fair and the food is excellent! Love this place. Got a groupon and they let us order to go! Definitely will be coming back.

Wow just wow. Great food, huge portions, very friendly staff. Took a chance on going here after having lived in the south for a while but this place can compete with the best of them. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to sit down and relax this is not your type of place, but if you’re looking for one of the best places to eat BBQ in Seattle and your type of seat isn’t a priority then this is definitely a place you’d want to go. Just typing this up makes me want to go back.

I don’t eat meat! Yet I ate ½ pound of Beef brisket ’ nuff said’!!. May sound little pricey, but the quality of everything is great. Service is impeccable. For fist time, parking is little challenging(They share the parking with the next door bar, ample parking) Place is very cozy.

Awesome experience! I ordered chicken and pork plus sides for a group. Both meats melted in your mouth! Baked beans were tasty too. Everyone loved the coleslaw. Staff were welcoming and friendly. You won’t find better customer service or better barbeque.

Went for the first time, long wait for food and when we got home, missing mac n cheese for my kid. Now what to feed him for dinner?

In one word: YUM! The jones famous ribs with medium spicy are incredible. Mac and cheese is some of the yummiest I’ve had. The cornbread is on point. It’s fair to say that the 3-star rating is skewed due to the people who are complainers and/or had one isolated bad incident. Staff is friendly. Super quick service. And I think the bar next door will let you take food over there. I’ll DEF be going back to this spot. Nom nom nom.

This place is a great find! Delicious BBQ, huge servings, and friendly service. I’m surprised by the 3 star Unilocal score. My wife and I each ordered a 1 meat dinner dish(brisket and ribs). Both were delicious but the brisket was especially tasty. It was cooked just perfect and the meat was very tender. BBQ sauce is finger-licking good and strikes a great balance between spicy and sweet. Updates to previous Unilocaler reviews: — there is *no* additional fee for take-out orders. — Jones accepts credit cards In terms of what could be better: — Difficult parking — Confusing menu(it took a 5 minute conversation with the waitstaff to figure it out) — Lack of telephone communication(tried to call in but there was no answer)

I’m always so pleased when I come here. The food is fantastic, the staff is nice, the atmosphere is elegant… Okay, that part is a lie. The space is cramped and the front door doesn’t quite shut. But that is the atmosphere that I appreciate in some of the best BBQ joints I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. The focus is on the food, and as a bonus, it gets us customers to extricate our attention from our electronic pacifiers and engage with each other. The meat certainly is hearty and delicious, and the sauces and sides are very tasty. I’ve had everything on the menu, and have never been disappointed(except when they run out of brisket). And I always grab some greens. I’ve always been treated well here, but tonight I wanted to call out how much I appreciate Christine who was working the register and serving. It was a very busy time, and she was juggling several orders, as well as a mix of conversations with customers, including someone testy about their being out of ribs for an hour. Throughout, Christine was attentive, considerate, and effective. She really impressed me with the comfortable dignity that she brought to the aforementioned atmosphere.

Best BBQ place in west Seattle! The meat is smoked fresh in back. They have fast, friendly service, large portions and delicious bbq that keeps me coming back. Joyce’s special and the ribs are my favorites. Great hot sauce and coleslaw too. The number on Unilocal may be wrong, I called them at(206) 739‑6169 for take-out.

We love Jones BBQ!!! They give a fair amount of food and the bbq tastes great. Love the rib tips with medium BBQ, Mac and cheese. The lady who seems like the manager/owner is so nice and sweet, excellent customer service!

I’ve driven by this place quite a few times and was curious to see what the fuss was about. I shared the 2 meat combo with a friend with Brisket and Ribs. Pros: — Its A LOT of food for your money. — Service was friendly and fast. Cons: — Brisket was dry — Ribs were«meh» — Meat was VERY sauce heavy and made me question if they were trying to cover something up? Conclusion: It’s not Great BBQ and its not Bad BBQ. If you’re local and have a craving you may want to give it a go. If you’re looking for Great BBQ that can be had just a short hop over the bridge. Glad we tried it, sadly we won’t be coming back any time soon

I have been coming to Jones bbq since they opened in 1988 or early 89. Wild boar was the previous bbq restaurant, Jones took over at that time. The hot sauce is always constantly good. Today I bought the 2lb. Tip special and a hot link. The tips are mostly tender with a few tough pieces. However, I can not taste the meat due to the drenched bbq sauce. I wonder if it’s been smoked? I can’t tell. The hotlinks are my favorite, very moist. Maybe one day us washington citizens will get a real southern bbq joint that we can brag about. I think famous Dave’s franchises have better bbq than Jones.

Ambience. B– Service. B Food. A Price. B Using a groupon for $ 20 takeout. I couldn’t combine with other offers. Service was nonchalant and stuck to rules how to use groupon. After ordering I was then told the chicken was still being cooked. So she readily. substituted with rib tips. That was nice. The bbq smells as well as the moist tasty bites are really nice. Good flavored and tender bites of pork and beef. Request sauces on side so you can taste the Meat. I requested all sauces on the side. They have mild, medium and hot. Ended up getting slab of ribs. $ 27⁄2 lb. rib tips $ 16⁄1 lb. beef brisket. $ 15.50. Minus $ 20 takeout coupon. I would go back.

This is the worst barbecue I’ve ever had. I think there’s one in Ballard, too, and I hear that one is good. But this place is terrible. I think any of the positive reviews for this location are mistakes. The rib tips were pretty much inedible. We seriously couldn’t chew them. It should have been a red flag when the people after us were told there was a «half hour wait» on rib tips. They should have been cooking all day… When you’re out, you’re out! These tasted like they were cooked hastily in a microwave after sitting out on a counter for half a day. The people who worked there were nice, but that’s the only positive thing I can say about this place and the only reason it even deserves one star.
