Lunch buffet was depressing, and I really don’t have unreasonable expectations. Service and cleanliness was fine, but the taste and quality of food was really underwhelming. It was a fairly small choice of buffet dishes, for one, and the chicken tandoori was constantly empty. My biggest issue is that the Saag Paneer(Spinach and Cheese dish) was made sans paneer– I mean, substituting freakin potatoes for the cheese? Come on– what kind of palette do they think Americans have? Its insulting to both of us to think we don’t know or care about the difference. Everything else was just okay. Butter chicken fairly undercooked. For some reason there was blue cheese dressing instead of raita for the salad, but whatever. Plenty of really delicious Indian buffets around town– worth looking elsewhere. *if you bring back the paneer in the Saag Paneer, I’ll come back and give it another fair try!

I ordered delivery and none of the dishes had much flavor. We ordered medium and medium hot, and those were a lie. It was so mild, I’m not convinced any herbs or spices were used. The lamb was also pretty tough. Total bummer, given that I crave the intense savory flavors of Indian food often and it’s so close to home.

Good, solid cuisine. Friendly staff. Tasty naan, good beer, and meal! We ordered a few things and shared so we could try out different items on the menu.

Not much has changed since our last check in for lunch. This time I had to ask the greeter if I could use dinner napkin to clean my seat. He brought me another napkin so I could clean the seat myself! Murg masala, chicken tikka, plain and garlic naan were okay. While paying I had to say we didn’t eat the food they are charging us for. Wrong check! What else I can say?

This is one of my go to places when I can’t decide where to eat, the butter chicken never gets old. The veggie pakoras are super tasty and their lunch buffet is as good of a deal as it gets. The waiters are always very friendly and polite. They even make sure my doggie has something to drink when we are sitting outside. I love it! :)

This place is a gem. I come in for the lunch buffet at least once/week and always find it to be delicious. They offer at least 5 entrees, including Tandoori chicken, daal, and a curry. At $ 9 for all you can eat, this is truly a great value. Thank you!

Have always loved this place. The prices are good for their awesome dishes. Good atmosphere and really friendly staff. The owner even comes out and helps if the staff is busy. It’s hard to recommend a favorite as I have many. Come enjoy India bistro you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered the eggplant bharta and it was absolutely amazing. Everything they brought out was so fresh and delicious. Definitely some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Also the prices were sooooo cheap. I will have to come here anytime I’m in Seattle. Nom Nom Nom!

It’s a great place if you’re down to get your Indian cravings out of the way but look elsewhere. Ordered a chicken tikka masala dish and it has what’s needed. I think what can take it beyond is the seasonings. There was no oomph to it, ya know? Also if you’re looking for spicy, get one or two above what they have. Medium was mild. All in all, solid 3⁄5.

This place is a great deal for lunch or dinner. Also great for takeout. We love the variety. Excellent naan, chicken saagwala and butter chicken are some of our favorites. Flavorful rice, too. And the proprietor is very nice and friendly.

I ordered delivery last night from this place. I try to order something I haven’t had before every time I have Indian food, just because, well, trying new things is good. I got the mixed appetizer(pakoras and samosa), the tandoori lamb meatball kebabs, daal, and the eggplant dish, can’t recall the name. Everything arrived piping hot. The samosa was delicious, it had potato filling. Yum! The pakoras were okay, nothing special but still executed well and tasted good. The daal was very good, better than I expected. The eggplant dish was also very good. And of course the rice was perfect. The lamb meatballs were spicy and tender, very good flavor. I was hoping my kids cold eat them, but as they are a little spicy, that was a no go. More for me! Wish I had remembered to order naan, oh well, next time.

Service is good, food is alright. Ordered the chicken tikka masala, seemed like the chicken was a bit old but other then that, everything was great

Very good food for a decent price. I had a very great experience here, the waiter gave my friends and I complementary desserts. It was incredibly sweet of them. Over all a very positive experience. The setting is more casual than other Indian restaurants which is why I only gave it three stars. Remember, right now in my life, I mostly choose three stars unless there’s an occasion My Personal Restaurant Rating Key One star: the food was bad and I had a negative experience. Two star: I had a more negative experience and would not come here again but the food was good so I may. Three store: Everything is good except one thing. Example-the food is good, the price is more reasonable but the atmosphere is lacking class. Or the food is good, the atmosphere is good, but they over charged us. These three stars are actually my favorite types of restaurants to go eat at if the reason is due to the atmosphere because they are usually delicious and reasonably priced. Four stars: Everything is great, food and experience. However the price is definitely on the upper end. I would not recommend this first to Obama unless he didn’t like my five stars. These are restaurants you can take your boss or your mother-in-laws to impress them, however they still don’t fit into the five star category. A bit fancier than my three stars, hence I don’t often eat here unless there is an occasion for it or there is a groupon that gives me a bit of a discount! Five stars: I would recommend this to Obama. The price may be on the upper end but the experience and the taste is so exquisite, it is actually worth every nickel and dime.

Food is not very good. Delivery time told to us was 50 – 55 mins. Food arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes later. Don’t order from them unless you want to eat really late.

This place is awesome. They are really quick and serve good food for a fair price. Don’t be fooled by the Post Office look that they have going on!

Please stop adding onions to your Palak Paneer. Palak Paneer does not need white onion. This dish never used to have onion. The added texture is all wrong. Please omit this mistake. That, and, your chai and naan were both burnt tonight. I couldn’t bring myself to finish my dish, and tonight I can’t bring myself to finish my leftovers.

This is by far the most flavorful Indian buffet food I’ve ever had. They don’t skimp on the naan and the servers are super nice. I’m glad I don’t live near here or I’d probably eat here every day.

Like. Like. Like. Tasty, very accommodating to special requests, we always order the vegi dishes vegan with no butter. Friendly. I go there for dinner and for the lunch buffet and they deliver! What more could one want?

India Bistro is quite tasty, and it’s a very welcome addition to Ballard. This is one of my staples, whether I dine in or order through Eat24. I love, love, love the chicken makhni(similar to tikka masala), saag paneer, veggie pakoras, and garlic naan. Portions are great, and the prices match. The staff is always super friendly. Plus, there’s patio dining for nice Seattle days.
