One of the stylists has raised her rate for a shampoo & style(half hour appointment) to $ 45 recently, for an elderly friend. At this rate, once a week costs this woman $ 180 per month, really??? Outrageously expensive — price gouching of the elderly is never good karma.

I must be a sucker for signs in Ballard because I was on my way to VAIN when my eye caught the $ 15 haircut sign for new clients at Cobblestone. My husband also needed a cut so we figured, why not? The two ladies working there had color appointments coming in soon but decided to take us in anyway. They were quite nice and enjoyed chatting with them, which is normally the part I hate most about going to a salon. I only needed a inch trim so that was easy and obviously less than the introductory price as advertised. My husband wanted a full haircut. His hairdresser got it pretty much the way he usually likes it, which doesn’t always happen on the first try with a stylist. The salon is cash only, which we weren’t told upon entering, so I had to run across the street to the BECU only to realize I didn’t have my BECU card with me. I had to use my Chase one and I am not a fan of incurring those ATM fees. But, whatever. Next time I get a full haircut, I will probably visit another salon that caters to a younger clientele but it was A-OK coming here for a quick trim.

I love this salon. It is easy to find, immaculate, friendly and professional. And this is for openers. Great haircuts and they get me in as soon as possible I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
