the very best falafel to be found anywhere. I have been throughout the Middle East and this is equal to the best that exists. I write this review as I’m highly critical of wannabe falafel being served in many places stateside.

I went there 2 weeks ago with my fiancée, I loved their food so much. The shawarma was rally good, the hummus and the falafel were delicious. The Kushery was amazing, a little bit expansive though.

The moment we entered, the lady in the restaurant ORDERED me to close the door behind us. There was no sign or note telling us the door was broken. She could not even ask us nicely. That same lady won’t let my 2 yr old daughter stand on the chair. She made my daughter sit in a crappy chair and that’s it. We all stormed out. I am not sure why hated us from the start. Racism? Bad day? Attitude? I don’t know. But neither me nor my friends are setting our foot again in that restaurant.

I came here because Mt Gyro’s was closed — MISTAKE! This is my least favorite middle eastern/Mediterranean restaurant in Seattle-and I eat a lot of this food. No seasoning, cold pita, weak side options, wrong kind of hot sauce(sriracha instead of Harissa) and overpriced for small portions. Go to Aladdin Gyroceria or Mr Gyros or Mediterranean Kitchen. On the plus side: the young man who served me was very attentive and polite. Also, it was very clean. This place to me as much like all the ethnic restaurants in Seattle that dumb down their flavor for white people. Many times I’ve ordered«5 star» Thai food and it has no heat.

This is my go to Mediterranean restaurant in Seattle, with my favorite dish being the falafel. The owners are amazing and so welcoming, with a wide selection of vegetarian dishes and sides.

Tiny but big in flavor. We had the lamb gyros. All ingedients best quality and fresh, cooked expertly. Clean. Pitas fluffy and also freshest. Price for two BIG gyros-I couldn’t finish mine, which had lots of tender, best quality lamb-plus generous order of crisp fries-was just $ 17 for both of us. We have spent that much for crappy tasteless Subway lunch. I thought it was a great price for great meal. We got good service from the friendly couple who runs It. On the screen was an Egyptian cooking show so you know that the chef was very interested in his craft. One tiny little issue I felt the lamb could have had about half the salt– butI feel that way about most restaurant meat. The saltiness did overwhelm the subltler tzatziki(sp?) sauce a bit. I will be going back and trying other dishes there.

Even while fighting a mild cold, the flavors of everything I ate here came through perfectly. The salad was fresh, crisp and tangy. The hummus had the perfect amount of garlic to bring an immediate smile of delight at first bite. I haven’t had better falafel anywhere. What I’ve experienced in the past tended to be more crumbly. This was not dry at all, and was really something to savor. Flavorful food, warm hospitality and an amiable ensemble of other guests in this small café made for a wonderful start to the evening. I’m returning soon!

This is the best falafel I’ve had ever, and has just trumped the Golden Olive for best homemade baklava in the city. Great hummus, and they added crushed leaves to the tea, which was such a nice touch. We were drawn in about the apparent warmth of the restaurant, and we stayed at the apparent warmth of the folks who own and work there. Highly recommended, and we’ll be back!

This place gets it. Wonderful service, friendly owners, and really great authentic food. The combination platters are huge. The hummus is pretty amazing. The chicken was really juicy and fresh. If I lived here I would be a regular at this place.

This was disappointing. Chicken meat on kabob was excellent. Pita was also good. Lentil soup was flavorless and not a lentil in sight. Was also bright yellow in color. Salad dressing on greek salad was just white vinegar and sad. Babaganoush tasted burnt. Like the eggplant way over smoked/cooked.

Fresh falafel! One of the better falafel sandwiches I’ve had. I had them add hummus since falafel is often dry, but there’s was very moist and fresh. Other guests food looked good as well. Would recommend, would return.

After reading all the great reviews I was dying to try this place. It was hands down the worst Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. It was literally inedible and went in the trash. Everything was served cold(cold eggplant??) and the baba ganouj had a weird tingly thing going on on my tongue. It was bizarre. I’m honestly afraid I’m going to get sick from the couple of bites I had. UPDATE: I did indeed get sick from their food and have concluded their baba ganouj was fermented.

Went to Hummus Café for the first time this weekend after reading a lot of good reviews. We weren’t disappointed. The best part of this experience was chatting with the extremely friendly female owner(should’ve asked her name!). Daring to use one of the handful of Arabic words I know opened a warm and vibrant dialogue with her. Excited to go back and chat some more about Egypt, etc. My husband and I got the baba ganouj(good, as long as you don’t mind whatever that assertive spice is that reminds me of a burning tire), a falafel sandwich, and a falafel/eggplant sandwich. THEFALAFELISREALLYGOOD. I don’t know why it’s green but it doesn’t matter… it’s the perfect taste and texture, in my view. The pita is THE most amazing texture: basically like eating a cloud. Sandwiches include mixed cold veggies(tomato and cucumber) and a tzatziki-ish sauce. You can order sandwiches spicy or not… next time I’ll order«SUPER spicy» because it didn’t seem spicy to me. :) Sandwiches are not served with any sides(that’s why they’re so cheap). Egyptian tv was on in the background. Casual neighborhood café vibe. Would definitely recommend.

This place was okay. I’ve driven past this restaurant all the time but never stopped by. I finally decided to come with a friend to try their food. I didn’t come here with very high expectations because I didn’t want to expect too much so I would be disappointed. However, while looking over the menu, the owner or staff came by to welcome and give some recommendations. He seriously pumped up his food so much that it set our expectations too high. He said that their eggplant and chicken was the best in the state of Washington and was really mouthwatering. According to him, the rice and fries are the best and that nothing beats their food. He also said that people drive from Tacoma(or somewhere far away) just to get their food. He said that you won’t find Mediterranean food as good as you’ll find here. With all that was said, the bar was set pretty high. I wouldn’t say the food was the best that I ever had. The beef gyro meat was really good. It was very tasty. I got the chicken shwarma plate and the meat was a little on the dry side. I did like the spices mixed into the meat though. It made it taste really unique. The fries were okay but not very seasoned. The rice tasted like rice — nothing really that special that made the food memorable. After our meal, he asked if there were other restaurants in the city that could beat their’s and in my head, I thought… «Mr. Gyros» but I didn’t have the heart to pop his balloon that his food was the greatest ever. Instead, I said that their food was pretty good and smiled. Their food was pretty good but not the best that I’ve ever had. I appreciated his confidence and pride though. Just wished he kept all the to himself so he doesn’t set the expectations of their food too high.

Their lamb shawarma platter was delicious and a great value for the price. My friend ordered their Beef Gyro and thought it was incredible. We both had some of their hummus– it was creamy and flavourful! It’s small, but the family that runs the place is very nice. The food came out fast and hot! I will definitely be eating here again.

Go to this place and EATLIKEANEGYPTIAN. The food is just perfect, fresh and 100% egyptian! I ordered koshary! OMG it tasted like heaven. Loved every bite. My husband ordered the mix grill dish, he liked it so much! I ordered molokhia«green soup» it’s a soup that’s packed with vitamins and it’s very nutritious, with white rice and grilled chicken for my 3 yr picky eater and guess what! he finished all his plate, YAAAY I am a happy mama now! Top that off with the very nice owners! They offered us complementary goodies! I am definitely going to Hummus Café again.

My Mom and I came here for lunch recently and we were both very impressed with the food. I have a gyro plate and hummus and my Mom had a Greek salad. I wanted to lick the hummus off the plate! Service was warm and friendly. The décor leaves something to be desired but I’m not going for the atmosphere. I’m going for the food! Will definitely be back. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

The place serves honest Egyptian style Mediterranean food so you can get your share of hummus, falafel, kebabs, shawarma. You can get large plats for $ 10-$ 14 with your choice of meat or falafel and two sides. Don’t go for the fries, they don’t compare to the hummus or the salad. The chicken plates somehow are much more appealing than the lamb, maybe because my lamb came almost ground-up like while the chicken pieces look nice and juicy. They have reasonable prices without all the wanna-be poshness of some Mediterranean places.
