Delicious food, warm inviting ambiance and excellent experience. George greeted us, waited on us and served us. He’s a very nice man with a genuine smile and quick wit making you feel like you were eating at his home. The drinking water was flavored with fresh pineapple, cucumber and citrus. It was refreshing and so yummy and I couldn’t get enough of it. The cauliflower app was so delish. We also ordered hummus and babaganoush. Both perfect in texture and taste. My mom wasn’t as excited about the babaganoush saying it wasn’t smokey enough, but I thought it was perfect. The greek salad was filled with olives, chunks of feta, peppers, cukes and tomatoes. The dressing as green and tasty. I’m not sure what was in it, but it was different in a good way. The chicken dish, Shish Tawook(Chicken Kabob) was solid but didn’t go along with the melt in your mouth expectation. It was chunky and on the drier side. The thick roasted garlic sauce on top was tasty but it tasted even better when it was dipped in the hummus/babaganoush. It was our first time and we will be back. We also sampled the potatoes which were lemony and filled with other tastes I couldn’t name but I’d order a side of them the next time I go. All in all, delicious. I highly recommend it.

A solid 3.5 stars for this joint! I came here on a Tuesday night for dinner with some friends. I was honestly a little astonished at the prices on the menu, all entrees were $ 19+ and sharing plates cost an additional $ 3.95 per person for entrees only. The norm(or at least my norm) at Mediterranean restaurants is to share, so that additional price makes little to no sense. For food, we got the hummus appetizer, which was delicious, but didn’t really set it apart for me, from just buying the same kind of hummus from Trader Joes. For the entrees, we got the lamb kebab, and the falafel. I absolutely loved the falafels, they were fluffy and melted in your mouth. Especially with the tzatziki sauce, hummus, and pita bread — this was probably my favorite dish! I wish they served a falafel sandwich though. The lamb kebab could of been delicious, but the marinade used seemed store-bought and the lamb not succulent. Also, the lamb pieces were HUGE, which made for a not very aesthetically pleasing dish. In addition, the rice was not the typical mediterranean rice I was hoping for. Overall, nice owners and ambiance/décor, okay food, and okay service! It’s a little funny to me that they only have one server. I guess they often don’t fill up all the way.

George and his wife Rula made a party for 10 of us on Sunday. We celebrated a birthday, a graduation, and Hannukah.(Yes, George was AOK with our lighting a menorah.)George helped me to make a menu in advance. We had mezze and then a selection of entrees — salmon, chicken, kefta kebab. As the mezze dishes poured out of the kitchen one by one, my family ooo’d and aahh’d. Each dish was more delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared than the last. We loved George’s hummus. His spinach pie was divine. My daughters, sister, brother, in-laws, all raved about the salad dressing. People who had never liked tabbouleh scarfed it down. By the time we got to the last mezze, a superb cauliflower in tahini sauce, no one could eat another bite. But wait — there were entrees and dessert. George gave us plenty of time between courses. And at dessert we celebrated a birthday by singing in English and listening to the birthday song in Arabic. George graced us with his bottle-on-the-head routine and we all clapped and stomped. What a superb feast! Thank you George and Rula!

PLEASEREADBEFOREWASTINGYOUR $$$. My cousin and I were both in the mood for Greek and thought we’d Unilocal a place close by. Gorgeous George’s popped up and based on the reviews we thought we would check it out. Our first thoughts were — cute little restaurant. We were seated and noticed the menu was not very descriptive. So we asked the waiter about the menu. He was clueless — he had no idea if the fish was fresh and said everything was good but recommended the shawarma. We asked if it was shaved meat and he said yes kind of. We said we needed a few more minutes. That’s when George came out — we asked what he recommended. He asked what we wanted lamb or chicken, we ordered one of each. When are food came we could tell right away it did not look like we expected. As you know shawarma is slow cooked, on a rotating spot or grill. This was UNEVEN chunks of meat sauteed with a ton of overcooked onions and big chunks of red and orange peppers. When I say UNEVEN I need to capitalize to ensure you know it was seriously random sized chunks of meat and vegetables. Which made us feel the chef did not care for the food he was preparing or the customers he was serving. The random sizes and shapes of the food also caused certain pieces of meat to be overdone and others underdone. The meat was not grilled or cooked all day — it was drenched in oil and pan fried. I’ve been to Greece and all over the Meditterean and had wonderful authentic meditterean food all over the states and this place was extremely disappointing. We did notice nobody else was eating what we had ordered — maybe they knew better but I would say please save your money and go to Mr. Gyros down the street(we would’ve gone there if it was open on Sundays). Neither of us ate more than a few bites. The waiter asked if he could pack it up and we said no. He didn’t even ask if something was wrong with the food… The bill was over $ 70 including a glass of wine each and an appetizer. We had the baba ganoush which was super cold — we speculated it was prepared in large batches and was sitting in the cold fridge. Just didn’t taste very fresh. Anyways my biggest pet peeve i save to spend money on crappy food. The quality, taste, care, service were very bad. Save your $$$ -

Best Mediterranean food in Seattle. I could not believe the quality of the spring lamb & the amazing grilled veggies, sauce & backed potatoes that came with it! It was substantial too(I made grilled cheese sandwiches with the left overs). Even the felafel platter was excellent. I’m totally sold!

Great food and service, comparable to the one further up Greenwood Ave that’s never open. Pricey but worth it, especially for the quantity. Each entrée provides plenty for 2 meals. Flavors were very authentic, especially the chicken, lamb, and the final baklava – the best(least sugary) I’ve had in Seattle.

We have come here several times now and the food is always amazing! Husband got some meat dish(it all looks the same to me; I try not to stare). He loved it, as usual. I get the Nazareth Appetizer plate as my meal– it has all my favorites and enough for another meal the next day! They can accommodate gluten free folks with crackers(instead of pita) and other subs for the tabbouleh. Yes, it’s a bit expensive but you’re basically getting two meals each and the quality is top notch. I make hummus, dolmas, and babaganoush in my sleep, but there’s just something about George’s that make them magic!

Went last night for the first time, though I’ve been to most of the other Greek places in the neighborhood. It was terrific! I had the chicken schwarma(my friend had the lamb), and it was delicious. The pita w/hummus was to die for, and I don’t know what they put on that little salad, but I need a recipe. Can’t believe I’ve lived around here for 5 years and haven’t been yet. They also give you very interesting flavored water. Service was great too, and the atmosphere is intimate and casual and friendly. I’ll definitely go again — best Greek I’ve had in Greenwood/Phinney.

Holy moly. Straight from the Middle East! This food was on point! The prices seemed a little high but when the food came out we could have easily split the dish… We didn’t though and I ate for two days. The appetizer plate was perfection. Keep on cooking George!

I’m late with my review. We went on Valentines day. First, they lost our reservation. I guess they squeezed us in when I complained too much. I got some kind of Lamb dish. It really lasted. That’s because the lamb was so rife with connective tissue that I had to chew and chew and chew. My poor jaw. That wasn’t the worst, though. The boss – maybe the owners wife — reprimanded a worker in the crowded dining area to the worker’s embarrassment, probably, and certainly to ours. I did not mind the chewing challenge NEARLY as much as I felt sympathy for the worker. The food tasted ok. The really distasteful thing was the boss’s behavior. I feel angry every time I think about it.

Amazing Authentic Lebanese food. This the best authentic Lebanese food that you can find in Seattle with reasonable prices and in high quality. Good place for date nights and for group dinners. Highly recommended.

My friend and I went here a few weeks ago and it was such a good experience! Gorgeous George’s is definitely on the higher priced side, and I won’t be coming here regularly because of that. But this is a nice pick for a nice meal! Absolutely delicious and the service was so wonderful, and so welcoming. Yum!

I just left a small rehearsal dinner hosted by the wonderful folks at Gorgeous George’s. What an experience! Delicious food, personal attention from the owners and a wonderful meal. I was a bit surprised by the prices at first, but then when the food started coming… and coming… I was not disappointed! With an appetizer sampler and Combo Plate entrée, I got to try it all: Hummus, Babaghanouje, Falafal, Shish Tawook(my favorite — the garlic sauce is to die for), Shish Kabob and Kafta Kabob. It may sound silly, but one of my favorite parts of the meal was actually the water that the owners kept us topped off with — an amazing concoction of lime, lemon, cucumber and mint. We also had a two-year-old in our party and George’s wife treated her like a princess!(and called her that too, which was adorable.) Crayons, a coloring book, a puzzle and prizes, along with delicious food, kept the little one content. They happily accommodated our large group and even rearranged the tables to fit us when a few extra folks showed up at the last minute. Thank you so much!

Perfection. I love this place so much. You might be shocked by the prices of the entrees at first but one is more than enough food for two people so it’s best to just share. I realize GG’s already has excellent reviews but I can’t help adding mine because I think this is one of the best dinners in Seattle. I’m so tired of all the casual, high-end places popping up all over Seattle lately(think Tom Douglas empire) that are serving mediocre food… as I become a better cook, I’ve stopped eating out as much because I can make myself a better meal for less money at home… but Gorgeous George’s gives me everything I want in a dining experience and it’s 100% worth it!

This place is amazing. My wife and I arrived here just as they were closing early and they let us come in. The service was awesome and the food was fantastic. I will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic dinner at gorgeous georges on a friday evening. We walked in without a reservation at 6:30 and were warmly greeted by the hostess. There was no wait and we were quickly seated. She gave me tastings of two of the wines to help me decide– nice of her. We ordered the grandmas chicken and the appetizer sampler for the two of us. Portions sizes were big and we were stuffed. The grandmas chicken is cooked for over three hours and is incredibly moist and flavorful. The appetizer sampler was a good choice for Vegetarians. Both came with either a soup or salad– we got one of each and they were delicious. It is slightly pricier than other places and there is no happy hour. However the atmosphere is intimate and lovely for a date night or with friends. Did not see any kids there. The hosts are so friendly i would imagine they would make sure you were comfortable. Service was impeccable. Will definitely visit again. The price point prevents me from being a regular.

How I heard of this place: Living in the neighborhood, I happened by Gorgeous George’s a number of times. The first time I popped in was for a sole cup of coffee with friends. The intimacy and quaintness of the space is alluring and certainly draws patrons back for more. Type of cuisine: «Come enjoy the hospitality and fine Mediterranean cuisine prepared with a touch of perfection by Chef George. Whether it’s a quick dinner or special night out, everyone is welcomed with open arms. On the menu you will find a blend of family recipies, and dishes made with George’s special flare, with spices direct from the Holy Land.» Ambiance: A small, cozy space, Gorgeous George’s is found on a newly bustling Greenwood Avenue. The corner establishment boasts floor-to-ceiling windows facing Greenwood Avenue, with murals on the walls, creating a warm ambiance in the dim-lit space. Chairs and tables are set close together, creating immediate intimacy with neighboring diners, with the espresso bar and register area right there amidst the crowds. A long, narrow stretch of café dining lines the hallway towards the restrooms, offering more seating on busy nights. What I ordered: We indulged in a TravelZoo deal, offering a three-course menu for two for $ 49. With this deal, each party of two received a plate of Hummus(mashed garbanzo beans flavored with garlic, tahini and lemon), the Falafel Appetizer(vegetarian balls made of chickpeas and veggies fried until golden brown and served with tahini sauce, and a generous helping of Greek Salad(field greens, feta cheese, olives, tomato, cucumber, basil, green bell pepper, red onion, zatar in a house basil vinaigrette dressing). For our main entrees we had the a choice between three, each of us choosing George’s Combo Platter($ 24 each), a real treat, with a combination of kaftan kabob(ground beef), shish kabob(lamb), and shish tawook(chicken), served with grilled tomato and onion. Our dessert included house-made baklava for each of us along with our choice of espresso beverage or house-made herbal tea. We all chose tea and were so pleased we did! What I loved: The appetizers! Each beautifully seasoned and flavorful, vibrant with basil and a homemade tambre. Why I loved it: The waitress seemed to recognize me from a visit at least five years ago! It is such a nice feeling to enter a quaint space, locally and family owned with friendly staff that smile at every turn and treat you as if you are the only party in the room. Beautiful. Cost: Average($ 19-$ 24 per dinner entrée)

Our group of 8 descended unannounced and got VIP treatment for a delicious Middle Eastern dinner. We ordered family style(left it up to the chef to choose) and everything was tasty. Distinct flavors, well-prepared and presented; vegetarian options, wine service, nice ambiance with corner location, white tablecloths and muted lighting. Be prepared for leftovers with family style. A guest insisted on ordering the cauliflower and it was surprisingly good! We had two kinds of rice… the special one that came with the kebabs was sooo good that I wish I remembered its name! For an evening out with my sweetie, I’d probably order off the menu instead. Parking is a challenge but the food and service is worth the hunt. It’s a drive from Shoreline but we’ll make it. Ditto for the wonderfully welcoming servers and staff.

Literally some of the nicest people everrrrrr own this place. They are absolutely charming and delightful! The food was awesome and, much to my delight, they said everything is egg free(allergy). They gave us a complimentary hummus for our first time(was delicious! And very kind of them!) I had the combo(chicken, lamp, and beef meatball) and it was tasty. My favorite was whatever secret salad dressing they have: please Gorgeous George — sell it by the bottle! :)
