Pie was everything I would of hoped for. Service however wasn’t the best. And we had to clean up our own table. Worth the pie, but I will more than likely get it to go next time.

It’s all about the crust… I’m a classic apple pie kinda gal, and I’ve enjoyed my apple pie, each and every time I’ve been here. I’ve had a few different varieties of pies here — apple, banana cream, peanut butter… — and have enjoyed most of them. I’ve also had the sweet pie fries(only b/c I love the crust) but it seems like a lot of $ to spend on basically pie OOPS pieces thrown in a bag — at least that’s my guess. IDK if theres actual effort put into pie fries or if they’re just pieces that would be thrown out anyways. 4 stars for their apple pie and coffee. But 3 stars for all other pies. + pie crust is really, really, really good + portion sizes are decent for the price + apple pie is good(lots of apples inside), they never seem to skimp on fillings + coffee is a nice pairing with the pie(they serve FUEL coffee) Noteworthy: * Pay to park on street only * Lots of seating available — Pie fries are sweet(cinnamon + sugar) or savory(garlic, salt, pepper) — overpriced for what you get + good variety of options and changes pretty regularly

Typical diner quality, not fantastic, but a nice place to grab some coffee and pie on your way down the street. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but I’ll definitely be stopping by when I’m in the area and wanting pie and coffee. Espresso was very good. Scones were ok, not much better than any chain coffee place. They have $ 5 coffee and pie on Tues 5−8pm, says the sign. However their menu didn’t match the available selection, so I wouldn’t trust the signage on this place. Service was incredible, super nice people working here.

The Cherry Almond pie is quite good. However, the past several times I’ve been here the selection has been lack-luster.In particular, my daughters don’t like fruit pies, but love pretty much all other kinds of pies(cream, pecan, etc.) Last few times we’ve gone to High-5, there has been nothing for the kids. In addition, the service has never seemed particularly good. The servers seemed too bored to answer questions.

To be honest, I’m not that much of a pie person, but the pies here are mighty pleasing to the eye. I usually go for the«flipsides» basically a turnover/empanada type item, in both sweet and savory – gotta have one of each… to share, of course. There’s also a bright open space good for getting some work done, having a meeting, or enjoying some people watching with your pastry.

I stopped by High 5 Pie for the first time ever today. a good friend of mine loves cherry pie, so for her birthday I picked up a whole cherry almond pie and I got myself a slice of caramel pecan. For about $ 5 a slice and $ 25 for a whole pie, I expected to be wowed. the fillings for both pies were fresh and yummy. However, neither myself or my friend enjoyed the crust very much. the crust is crispy, hard, and buttery, which did not compliment the sweet pies. it was tough to break through the crust with a fork and we were just not fans of a crunchy crust. If the crust was softer, a little sweeter, and flakier, I’d return here for sure. but for now I will not return here for overpriced and underwhelming pie. on the plus side, the service was very friendly.

Pie pie pie, We weren’t craving pie but, when we saw the sign. suddenly we were! We split a slice of apple with whipped cream and I had a cappuccino. The crust was flaky and buttery and the filling was a perfect mix of tart and sweet. YUM! The décor is great with a junkers delight theme and great coffee table books to peruse.

I went to high5 to get pies for thanksgiving and was told they don’t do ‘take and bake’ savory pies. The guy was either too lazy to go check if they had savory pies left in the back or didn’t know what he was talking about. I had previously bought take and bake savory pie from here so I know what he said isn’t true. He told me just come over tomorrow and they’ll have enough pie for everybody. Right. Come a day before thanksgiving and 100% guaranteed that they’d have my take and bake flavor of choice. I asked if I can put an order in and prepay, and was told that they don’t do preorders. So yeah, I’ll come tomorrow and see if you guys have the pie I want. If you don’t than I’ll make sure anybody I know hear this story. Either way your staff just lied to my face and I just didn’t have time at that moment to confront him.

My pregnant self wanted pie today. Or tiramisu. but settled for pie as it was on the way home. I have lived on the hill for over 8 years and haven’t been in this joint since it opened up. so I figured why not? I am not a person who minds paying extra for quality, but I do mind paying extra when there is bad service. I do not understand how you can be unhappy selling pie at a pie shop. I tipped the dude behind the counter only because he looked like his cat died and was pissed off that mine hadn’t. The peacan pie was delicious, but my experience could have been a lot better only if I felt welcome. There is a PCC up the street where i can get a BOMB pie for under 15 dollars.

Tasty and delicious, nice décor and spacious terrible parking. But that’s not their fault. It’s Seattle’s fault.

Flaky, crispy, buttery goodness with a variety of savory and sweet fillings. The servers are chill, down-to-earth people. They do seem to think you know what you want before you go in, as they hover expectantly for you to make a choice. Perhaps if it was the owner, then would be impressed with themselves that they offer so many appetizing choices, but alas no. So go in knowing a lil bit. And for Crust’s sake do not microwave the pie or pastry! It is to be put in a toaster or conventional oven.

Baked goods are fantastic, but way overpriced. Paid $ 7.12 for a drip coffee and two rugelachs. Make those little guys $ 1.25 and I’d be all over it. Pies are $ 4.50 a slice or $ 25 for the whole thing(6 slices).

The cherry almond hand pie is delicious — with a juicy filling stuffed full of cherries and a super flakey crust that doesn’t get soggy and is messy to eat.

I can’t say anything good about any of the two pies I purchased for Thanksgiving last year after traveling from TX to WA for the first Thanksgivng with my new Daughter in Law’s family. What a complete embarrassment. I read reviews for this place, although this business didn’t receive the top Unilocal reviews, all others I wss ordering was too late or I suppose WA isn’t a big pie state because nobody baked extra pies for a major holiday? Both of these pies we purchased were sliced, the crust so chewy that it was the worst I have ever had and the filing tasted by the guests. ALL went straight to the rubbish bin soon afterwards. What a waste of $ 55 for two pies that went in the trash is an absolute sin. I learned my lesson and if I go to WA for Thanksgiving again I will make my own pies. A frozen crust from the supermarket would have been 10 times better. Nothing good to say.

If you get a slice of pie, it’s usually pretty good. Often times the little pie pockets are too crunchy on the outside, especially when they have been re-heated in their toaster oven. However, the service is almost always bad, and the people behind the counter have a poor attitude and couldn’t care less if you bring their store business. Try a smile some time.

While no longer the baking world’s hottest craze, the concept of a pie shop is not going away. And that is a good thing because I think it makes perfect sense to have a desserts place that stays open well into the evening like High 5 Pie does. Especially since it is located on Capitol Hill’s 12th Ave where many of the top restaurants and bars in Seattle are located nearby. A few weeks back on a weekend evening, I was walking in the area looking to get some ice cream nearby before I decided that I wanted pie instead and try High 5 Pie after walking by the shop several times before. Not realizing that was the best decision since they offer pie a la mode here so I can get(Bluebird?) ice cream with my pie! The selection of pie offerings here are nicely varied. They come in different flavors(sweet and savory), sizes and shapes. Not just slices. An example being their flipsides which are shaped like turnovers. Plus they offer Fuel coffee drinks here to wash the pie down. There were numerous interesting choices, but I decided on the salted caramel pear pie a la mode($ 6.50). I believe the slices alone are just shy of $ 5 each so they are a bit on the high side Though comparable to competitor, Pie at Seattle Center and Fremont. After adding an Americano to go with the pie, I was looking at a price tag just under $ 10. Ouch. I had the pie warmed up and picked it up on one end of the counter. Whereas I had to fetch the Americano from the other side. And you have to grab your own utensils in an area located on the far end of the shop away from most of the seating. Not the greatest arrangement. The pie was decent. I could taste the flavors of the salted caramel which worked well with the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream. Though the crust was just fine for me. A bit dense. I like the crust of the pies at Pie better. To be fair though, the ones at Pie are shaped differently so I can’t make the same comparison. As for the Americano, this was a pleasant surprise. Bold and as good as the coffee from my favorite purveyor, Caffé Vita. It goes down very smooth. If you are looking for a desserts and coffee place with good ambiance after a nice meal on Capitol Hill, I would recommend High 5 Pie.

Great ambience(high ceilings, big windows, ample seating, kitschy décor), but the pie is mediocre at best. I had the salty caramel & pear pie with whip cream and the best part of it was the buttery flavor of the crust. The texture was tough to cut through with a fork and was chipboard-like; it was heated up, but felt lukewarm at its warmest; and the whip cream tasted and looked like it was from a Reddi-Whip can(maybe it was?). The fruit filling was limp and lifeless. The tables on the perimeter were extremely sticky – so sticky that when I removed my paper napkin that I laid down to protect my laptop from stickiness, that I could hear a loud, peeling noise upon removal. It may be the finish on the table, because it didn’t seem dirty – but it did have a weird coating of stickiness. The music felt like I was in a club. I’ll leave on a good note though: the service was very attentive and sweet. And a good place to do some work on your laptop with wifi and outlets. The place has so much potential with its location, décor, and ambience. Just wish there was better pie, better music, and non-sticky tables!

I love this place! The atmosphere is so sweet and retro. You walk in and you fall in love with baked goods. There are so many things to choose from, savory or sweet. I am more of a savory fan personally and like the Spinach Feta flippside. SOGOOD! I want to go back and try a sweet treat though. Either a cutie pie or a pie in a jar. As the coffee is perfect! The know what they are doing there. So perfectly balanced. I heard in january they are offering baking classes, which I really hope to go too!

We came here for dessert and at around 9 pm, pickings were somewhat slim. I had a slice of banana crème pie and she got the little apple pie. My pie could have used some additional banana action and I thought her pie was sort of dry and she had her piece heated up. It’s on the corner, so there’s good people watching, but this place was just okay.

I have been meaning to write a review for High 5 Pie for at least a year. But, I am just now recovering from a severe bout of separation anxiety from Seattle. *laughs* Wow, the concept for this place is simply amazeballs! Delicious pie, coffee, a place to sit and fart around on your laptop and/or read, and have weird conversations with people you don’t really like or know. It really doesn’t get better than this. Honestly. But wait, it does. Because this place has TWINPEAKTUESDAYS. Holy shit, seriously, I think I just had an orgasm from reading that. I am seriously sitting in my chair seething with jealous that I live all the way in California and cannot go to Twin Peak Tuesdays. I was even trying to bulldoze my Seattle friends to go, but most of them are still at work when it starts. So, here’s the thing. You sit and watch«Twin Peaks» while eating pie. *SWOON* It’s like you died and went to heaven. If I ever moved to Seattle, I would throw away my corporate whims and work here. But then I’d get to be like 500 lbs and wouldn’t be mobile… hmmm. I seriously don’t know how the people working here don’t have Type II Diabetes and all sorts of obesity-related issues. I would. UPDATE: On my most recent visit, I noticed that they are no longer doing Twin Peak Tuesdays. *waaaaah waaaaaah* Perhaps I should lobby to bring it back? I’m super bummed! However, I did get to try a piece of the cherry almond pie, and let me just say, AMAZING. I am not a fan of fruit pies, especially warm fruit pies in general, but this thing was simply delightful(and sinful). So I forgive you, High 5 Pie, but only temporarily…
