Friendly and efficient staff. The keys they cut actually worked!

Pretty awesome! My fiancé and I moved from Capitol Hill to Downtown into our first home and were in the need of more blue painter’s tape. Thinking we’d hit up the Bed Bath & Beyond we were pleasantly surprised to pass by this Ace Hardware instead. Never mind BBB! This store is large for a city hardware store and they’ve got everything you’d need! We were so glad to find painter’s tape and a few other last minute items that we signed up for their rewards program. I know we’ll be back! Thanks for being in the hood, guys!

Great service! My friends and I went in looking for some screws to finalize putting together a table stand to a TV, and the person who helped us did two amazing things for us: — he gave us a huge bag of caramel popcorn(every Saturday they do this!) — he helped us find the right screw right away! Some would say… Hero Ace Hardware nailed it

Truth be told, I preferred City Hardware(RIP), but since they closed it’s the closest place within walking distance to my office. With that said, not sure what all these bad reviews are about — was here the other day to pick out some paint sample swatches for the bathroom, was asked if I needed help twice, and both of the employees I interacted with were lovely & went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed.

I don’t go to the hardware store to make lifelong friends but I do expect to be acknowledged as a customer. I bought sandpaper today and the guy who rang me up did not say a single word to me the entire transaction. Just atrocious customer service

Stopped in to buy some drill bits and screws. After going to the counter the clerk asked me about the drill I was using and when I told him what type it was he asked me why I was buying the most expensive drill bits with a quick connect fitting. I responded that I didn’t know the difference. He showed me some much less expensive bits that would work just as good without the quick connect fitting. I appreciate him saving me money and will return for future purchases because of this experience.

On a good day someone will acknowledge that you exist and attempt to help you. On a bad day everyone will avoid eye contact, roll their eyes from behind a desk when you ask them to help find something, and leave you in an aisle for one hour and twenty minutes while you wait for them to come back after they said they would help you but in actuality left to do other BS. I despise this hardware store. If you need something here that you can’t find or the employees suck like they do most often, go to City Hardware. City Hardware is on the corner of Harrison street and 9th avenue. It isn’t that far from here. AND someone will help you without being a F**** Good luck home improvers & DIYers

The bad: I went to Hero a day after I moved to town to get a copy of my house key made and it didn’t work… wahh! I went in a few days later to ask for a re-cut and was hassled by the dude who works there. I was really disappointed when the guy who originally cut the key — who acknowledged that he helped us out — did not say sorry, say he would redo it, or offer any kind of customer service. He simply said«Oh, it doesn’t work?» and walked away. Bleh. The good: This is a super clean store(perhaps it’s new?) with, what I imagine to be, a great variety of junk. I’ll never come back… poor customer service puts a bad taste in my mouth.

This is the most useless hardware store ever. I have been trying to like it for over a year as the location is perfect for downtown residents. But each time I go there I’m comforted by staff that do not know what products they offer or what they are used for AND with an inventory that is completely inadequate. Just walked there looking for 4 simple items for home and garden and only came away with only 1. I guess I have to suck it up and rent a zipcar and go down to HomeDepot by the stadiums. At least their staff know something about their products and they offer a huge selection.

Went in with an challenge(missing screws from a TV stand) and not one, not two, but three employees put their heads together to help me find what I needed. I feel lucky to have this store a couple blocks from my apartment and I’ll definitely head there for all my hardware needs.

Great, helpful & knowledgeable staff! Not only did the clerk pick out the best product(the best and not most expensive) for my problem, but he also gave me great tips on replacing and installing the new one. I’m so happy that Ace is in the neighborhood! It’s my new go-to store!

Ace is truly a hidden gem in downtown! I went to Hero Ace today for the first time during my lunchbreak to avoid another trip to Home Depot. I was immediately greeted by an employee when I walked in, and he even walked me all the way to the section I was looking for. After I found my first item, I was also needing a specific type of nail. Although they didn’t have exactly what I was looking for, another employee spent time helping me find alternatives, even offering to help create the nail that I was looking for. I have been to Home Depot three times this week, and not once have I had an employee help me. Home Depot just feels like an huge and lonely warehouse — too big and impersonal. Although Ace has a smaller selection, they provide great customer service, decent prices, and convenience!

Top shelf ultra clean Ace in a prime downtown location. The folks here are very friendly and eager to help you. They will also special order items they don’t normally carry for you. Screw driving to The Home Depot.

This Ace is relatively large for a hardware store in they downtown area and is pretty darn immaculate. It’s also staffed with some very nice folk, although the gentlemen that helped me didn’t know what Locktite was or where it was in the store. An employee at the big box store would probably know… but then you’d have to actually find one after wandering around the aisles lost for 10 minutes. The prices seem a bit high, if I’m honest, although I have to admit to not frequenting hardware stores smack dab in the middle of a city. If you live or work in the area, this is the place to be. Otherwise, you’ll probably want to shop local.

Terrific store! Very friendly staff and wonderful customer service. I live downtown and have been there several times. They are always willing to spend time answering all my questions and are SO helpful. I’m happy we have such a good hardware store right in the city! A pleasure to shop there. Like a friendly, small town store.

For all your project needs, check this store out. They have electrical, plumbing, auto, etc. Love how convenient this is for city apartment dwellers.
