Cannot say enough good things about my Lasik experience with Dr.Hughes.
I was referred by a friend who had his Lasik done by Dr. Hughes a few years ago. Soon after I made the decision to schedule a consult, I was in the office discussing my goals for the procedure and my having my eyes checked out.
I was a bit of a unique case, because prior to Lasik I did not have ‘terrible’ vision. Rather, I had a slight astigmatism and subtle nearsightedness. However, due to the nature of my job being in front of a computer all day, I’m basically forced to wear glasses if I don’t want to squint. Contacts never felt comfortable for me, so that wasn’t an option.
I considered other, dedicated Lasik centers, but to be honest I felt more comfortable with Dr. Hughes attitude and his willingness to be available to talk and help. He spends as much time with you as he needs to to answer your questions and is always available by phone/​pager if you need to chat.
Keep in mind, although you would see him at the Cherry Hill Swedish location, he actually performs the Lasik at a laser center in Bellevue where they have the latest and greatest technology to use. The actual laser center is very clean and modern, and the staff was very kind of reassuring. I am now a little over a week out from my Lasik and I have zero dryness and am seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀ as of Tuesday.
Things are still adjusting, but i’m already almost to the point I was before with glasses. and it’s a great feeling!

Dr Hughes is amazing! If you’re thinking of getting LASIK I highly recommend him. He was extremely attentive and informative before, during and after the procedure. He always took time to explain the process and make me feel comfortable.

Dr. Hughes, who came highly recommended to me from a doctor I work with, performed my LASIK and exceeded expectations throughout the whole process– the consultation, the pre-​op and incessant questions I asked, the day of surgery, the post-​op, everything. He even called the day of to make sure I was still doing okay, and since then he’s been very reassuring and supportive. He never seems rushed during the appointments and is eager to teach and explain everything. I had questions about the drops post-​op– he called back in a timely manner and left recommendations on my voicemail. He reiterates that he is available by pager and doesn’t mind being called.
The clinic itself is nice, has a beautiful view, and the wait times are not long.
AND I am seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀ and better than I did with contacts, so he’s also a skilled practitioner.

Dr. Hughes is excellent. I have been to see him several for different eye problems, and he has always handles my concerns with promptness and care. When I had an adverse reaction to a steroid drop, he had me come in as soon as possible to take a look. Very few doctors will get in you in on an emergency call like that, but he is always able to see me the same day if there is a serious concern. Great doctor, hands down.

I highly recommend Dr. Grady Hughes, MD and Seattle Eye Care for all of your eye and corrective lenses/​glasses needs. I had something lodged in my eye and Dr. Hughes expertly extracted it with minimal discomfort. He was skilled, very intelligent and compassionate. I also needed new glasses and Shawn helped me pick a stylish yet affordable pair right on the spot. Since Dr. Hughes is an MD my regular (non vision) health insurance plan covered my visit! The overall impression I had of this doctor and clinic was professional, compassionate, expert and patient centered. Dr. Hughes has won Seattle’s Top Doctor’s for eye surgery in years past so I can only surmise he is an excellent surgeon as well!

The Eye Dr.‘s office is top notch. My eye dr. is Dr. Ted Zollman, who also works in this same office. I, highlly recomend this place for all your vision needs.
