Dog-Buddies Adventures and Training

Andy is truly the dog whisperer of Seattle. He took my wild dog that I feared was too old (5 years old) to learn to behave, and made an amazing change in our lives. Andy is reliable, consistent in giving communication with updates on his training sessions and really gave us the tools to help carry over the positive behavior changes that he was able to achieve. Andy truly lives for dogs and our little pup is lucky to be a part of Andy’s dog gang.

We love Andy! He is our go to for care whenever we are out of town. Our dogs love him and he is clearly part of their pack.
We were recently out of town for our wedding/​honeymoon and our dogs were with Andy for a very extended stay. Though of course it’s hard to be away from them for so long, I didn’t have to worry about them for a minute!
Our little dog has some medical issues and receives special medication twice a day. Additionally our dogs get a special wet food. Andy always handles the feeding/​medication with ease and without complaint. He even deals with putting diapers on our little one.
We are thrilled to have such a reliable and caring person to take care of our babies when we have to travel!

The first time we met Andy, our Australian Shepard (normally a bit aloof around strangers) ran right into his arms — Andy is truly half-​dog! He is wonderful with our dog and all the other dogs we have seen him in charge of. We rely on him pretty regularly, and are so happy to have found a local dog sitter that our dog Rufus LOVES going too. Andy is always with the dogs and staying active, going on hikes and other adventures. Sometimes Rufus even comes home tired, which is quite a feat for an Aussie!
Like another reviewer noted, it helps to be flexible with pick-​up and drop-​off times, however any schedule conflicts we’ve worked around are never some kind of negligence with dogs. Andy for his part is also very flexible and accommodating with our own scheduling hiccups (late flight, I5 disasters, etc.), which is great. We usually drop and pick-​up at the small dog park at 3^rd and Bell, so parking can sometimes be tricky. Andy is always our first choice for a dog sitter, and we will continue to happily hire him. Give him and shot and you and your dog will have no regrets :)

You know that feeling you get when some name-​brand store with a side-​gig in dog-​sitting gives you that list with «$ 50 for an hour of playtime» and such? And your dog comes home full of energy like he’s slept all day?
That’s not Andy at Dog-​Buddies. Our dog is sooooo happy to see Andy, there’s no nickel-​and-​dime charge for everything, and he plays solid. Our dog comes home happy, exhausted. We have a Jack Russell, which is a breed easily bored, able to escape, and full of energy, yet he comes home just spent and happy.
Andy sometimes gets tied up with tardy customers. I would suggest some leeway when scheduling to meet up.
We always try Andy first. If he’s busy, we reluctant try another, but Andy is our first choice every time.

Andy is great with dogs – caring, attentive, and definitely in tune with their attitudes and behaviors. Andy seems to have a way of making even my nervous little Pom comfortable around him. Importantly, he also respects my wishes for her care. She’s an older dog and a bit stuck in her ways these days. Andy gets that and takes great of her! I highly recommend Andy.
