Wow very good Americano. Very tasty coffee. Good beans and/or machine, whatever it is very good. Nice and cozy seatings also. I wish it were near me to go often but I happened to pass by here today.

Although I’m fairly new to the Capitol Hill area, Coffee Tree is definitely one of the better cafes I’ve visited. Dog-friendly, clean, and the perfect amount of comfy. And their coffee is always fantastic. Definitely recommend this cute little gem.

Given all the coffee options in Seattle, there isn’t much of a reason to go to this place. I ordered an Americano, which the cashier told the«barista» to make as «an espresso with hot water». I suppose this is technically correct, but the resulting beverage was so weak(in flavor and temperature) that it was undrinkable. I also ordered a chocolate croissant that was so stale I threw it out.

One of my favorite shops in town. They are friendly and nice. I am there on a regular basis. They are always kind and remember you each time. They have good coffee and they are a fast place to stop in if you are on the go.

I just moved here to Seattle and have indeed noticed that the 2000+ coffee shops here really make for our unique coffee experience! I’ve read some of the previous reviews about Coffee Tree and though some things are true, like sometimes it takes a little long to get something there, there really isn’t anything to complain about. In fact I think the quality of the food and the drinks are outstanding and the service is always very friendly and accurate! The inside is not super-spacious but very comfortable and I’ve never seen it to where you can’t get a seat… It’s conveniently located and has a nice charm! I will continue to be a customer there, not just because I live close by, but because of the variety and quality of the food/drinks and the fun/friendly service :)

I try to be as conservative with my 5-star reviews as possible but frankly, this place has been unfairly rated in the past year. I’ve only lived in these parts for a year so I won’t ask you to apply my praise to anything pre-2014 because I wasn’t around for that, but I HAVE been coming to Coffee Tree almost daily for a year and can say with confidence that the big ol’ 1-star reviews are pretty unnecessary if you look at what they complained about. Coffee Tree is a total godsend to anyone living in this part of First Hill which is essentially in a huge black hole with little more than parking garages, high rises, a pizza place, a sushi place, and this here coffee joint. I worried when we moved here that we might have accidentally ended up in the land that time forgot and when I find myself craving the omnipresent tacos of my former home in Texas, I still sometimes think so. Fortunately for me, Coffee Tree exists and not only exists but also serves amazing Victrola coffee and some tasty pastries just a block away from me. We started coming here out of sheer convenience and have continued to come here because the coffee is consistently great, the baristas are all friendly and engaging, the prices are right on the money for Seattle, and the food/snacks are all really good too. I’m not an ambiance guy so I can’t give a lot of flowery and/or scathing feedback about the décor because in my opinion, it’s not important. I come here for great coffee, fair prices, friendly people, and I’ve yet to walk away without experiencing all three. I’ll briefly touch on the 1-star review that mentions dogs and will agree ONLY to the point that I think that dogs don’t belong in places that prepare and/or serve food(unless it’s a service animal… er…an actual service animal, not an accessory, ya dig?). That much being said, I can probably count on one hand how many times I’ve seen someone bring a dog in and I’ve never once seen dogs anywhere near the food prep area. I, too, wish dogs were nowhere near my food but really that’s an observation and complaint about patrons, not the owner or their staff. For the 1-star writeup that laments the broken espresso machine and the SUPERLONGTIME it took to make an obscure pour-over coffee drink that is clearly not the type of drink they make the most often, I can only offer her reassurance that she will survive that adversity and might remind her that if that particular situation was so hard that it seemed appropriate to ding a business with a harsh review because of a mild inconvenience, that her perspective may need some reevaluation. I DIGRESS… let’s finish up by talking about how friendly and knowledgeable the baristas and owner are. I’ve learned all their names and they’ve learned mine. We’ve chatted about the coffee, we’ve commiserated about the weather. They take extra care to make sure you enjoy your drink and unlike almost every shop I’ve ever been to, they’ve never once burnt an espresso shot. It’s great stuff, and if you’re on the fence about giving it a try, trust me, you’ll dig it.

Love the outside seating. Great for a outdoor meeting or just to feel that warm breeze on a summer afternoon. Good coffee too!

Nice find around the corner from my business meeting on First Hill. Got a dirty chai with almond milk, made and poured perfectly. Good vibe, relaxed, and the food looked good too. Give Coffee Tree a try!

I stopped in here while on vacation and loved it! The place was so comfortable and the coffee was delicious. It was a great place to stop and take a break if you’re wandering around the city. The girl behind the counter was so sweet and happy. I will definitely be back!

We were staying down the street from this spot while in Seattle for a long weekend. While we were there, the espresso machine was broken. 3 people that were waiting for their drinks in front of us walked out because they had to wait so long. We ordered 2 pour over coffees and only 1 of the 3 people working knew how to make it. They only have 1 pour over contraption so it took 15 min to make just one. We had to leave so I asked them to just give me an iced tea instead of a second coffee. They complied but wait a minnn… an iced tea cost nearly ½ the price of the pour over coffee yet they did not offer to give me back any money or throw in a pastry or something to make up for it. Mehh, I would pass on this place… spot…tree.

I love coffee tree! The owner Mina is so sweet and always remembers her customers! The staff is always friendly and in a good mood. Oh and it doesn’t hurt that the coffee(Victrola) is soooooo good! I recommend this place over all the other coffee shops in the area !!

Not a bad little coffee shop. Free wifi, relatively quiet, cute décor and plenty of seating. They have a nice selection of tea and if you stay there they will give you a whole tea pot. My lavender and chamomile tea was delicious and not more than a few dollars. The staff is friendly and they also serve food along with other snacks.

Wow. I usually only write a very bad review twice. Not a good review for twice. But after walking out of coffee tree today I just have to write another review. The baristas remembers my order even I haven’t been back like almost 2 weeks. The customer service is so personable, the treat desert is homemade and taste delicious. Man. You guys just made my day. Thank you. Keep it up that way. Not so many places offer this kind of personable customer service.

You know… prior to my most recent experience, I would have given Coffee Tree 4 stars because they make really good paninis(I always order the Veggie – it comes with avocado! Kafe Berlin charges you $ 1 to add it to their veggie sandwich). I haven’t tried any of their drinks, since I’m not a coffee person, nor do I trust bubble tea from non-Asian establishments(yes, that might not be fair, but… meh), but their prices seem to be on-par with other cafes(and when I say«cafes,» I’m really talking about Starbucks). However, I am docking them 1 star because I saw the girl making my sandwich EAT while making it. Yes, it may not be completely unsanitary as she didn’t lick her fingers, stuff her face with sandwich fillings, etc., but STILL. You’re not hiding behind a kitchen – rather, you’re standing in front of me, so couldn’t you at least just wait until my sandwich was done and in the panini press before snacking? Gah. This was the first time she had made my sandwich, so fortunately, I haven’t had this experience with any of their other employees, but it’s enough to make me NOT want to return for awhile. I think I’ll just make the extra 1 block trek(QQ) to Stockbox.

I wanted a new coffee place near my work; I wanted it to be Coffee Tree. You can’t always get what you want, as the great prophets, The Rolling Stones, have told us. I have to give the caveat that this place isn’t bad. The coffee wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t good. I am typically a black coffee girl, but I wanted a floofy drink, so I went for a raspberry mocha frapp. I was hoping it was the greatest frapp of my life(it wasn’t), and here is why: The service– BOO! Kat L. said it best when she mentioned that Seattle is full of awesome baristas, but it seems like Coffee Tree has people that just don’t care. It took at least 10 minutes to get my drink, and the place wasn’t busy. I was the ONLY person in line with maybe 2 – 3 other people in the joint. I can have a line of 7 people at Starbucks and get it faster. What’s more, it’s like I was an inconvenience to the person behind the counter for even asking to order something. When the guy was making the drink, he was kind of wandering around aimlessly, no hustle. I don’t expect a 20 second turnaround time, but, I shouldn’t have to wait that long to just get a drink. The drink itself was average, and the sweet was really overpowering. The raspberry part of the drink was nonexistent, and I wasn’t even sure there was even coffee in there. On a good note, I DO like that they are all about using compostable items and the environment, but geez, they need to step it up if they want to say in business in a place like Seattle.

A nice clean spot for some really good coffee drinks. I had one of the best macchiatos in awhile, and looks like they used coffee beans from Victrola. They also have a small menu of panninis and some baked goods as well. As other reviewers have pointed out, however, is that they leave the door open, perhaps to air out the place as ventilation may not be great and they do toast bread and press sandwiches. It amy be ok on a summer day, but during the coldest week in Seattle in 20 and 30 degree temps, it was awfully cold in there.

I mostly go here for convenience since work is 5 minute walk away. Baristas are friendly and usually remember my everyday order. I like their breakfast sandwiches, especially on a toasted croissant. They’ve mixed up my food order a couple times and they always have their doors open, even when it’s cold! The internet is kind of spotty but if you ask, an employee will restart the router/modem for you. The coffee is pretty good and their selection of pastries isn’t bad. My biggest turn off is just the doors being open all the time. Overall, your average convenient café down the street!

I’ve been frequenting this place for some time and while the service has always been top notch, recently it has taken a huge dive. I believe there are new owners since this one lady is is always in the building as of recently and she can hardly speak any English which, if you’re serving to mainly English speaking customers, can be a big problem. She has messed up many orders and even over charged me multiple times. I also had an unfortunate situation where I was served terribly old and rotten meat. The other day, I also over heard who I assume to be a manager talking with an employee outside, in the open, using very unprofessional conduct and language which seemed to humiliate her right in front of everyone. I don’t recommend this place to anyone in the area. It has really gone down hill and there are other options nearby.
