Didn’t try the food but the beer selection is superb especially the Belgian beer. Cool interior design with a balcony and appropriate spacing between tables.

Very glad I visited Brouwer’s during my trip to Seattle. Great place to grab a drink and grab a bite to eat. They have over 100 beers and over 70 whiskeys to choose from if you’re looking for a drink(or maybe a couple). I tried their in-house IPA(I forgot the name but it mentions this on the menu) and it was pretty smooth. Their lamb deluxe burger was bomb! Very juicy burger and great portion! The fries were also really good and you could choose from different dipping sauces, like their aioli, curry ketchup, spicy dragon(which is made with bourbon), etc. I had the aioli and it was delicious paired with the fries. They also have a hot sauce you can ask for which was also good. Would definitely visit again when I’m in the Fremont area of Seattle to try out their happy hour!

A really cool pub with a great beer selection and large list of whiskey’s. The food is decent and the service is always nice and quick. It’s definitely a go to spot for great craft beers from the local brewers to nice German and Belgian selections they always keep on tap. If you ever find yourself in the area for one of their festivals(Hard Liver, Barrel Aged, etc) don’t miss it.

This is a solid place. I have yet to have difficulty in finding a few good beers on tap, though I must admit there have been painstaking moments in trying to determine where to start. PARKING: Street and nearby lots. This is a well-trafficked neighborhood, so parting may be competitive. The street parking is restricted so be sure to pay attention to signs. VENUE/AMBIENCE: 21+. Nothing extraordinary about the architecture, though the interior design is fascinating. Inside you’ll see a sort of modernized interpretation of something medieval. There is lot and lots of wood being used in this place. The dark stains and paint paired up with the low lighting contribute to the feeling that you shouldn’t forget to pick up the chain mail cocktail jacket on your way out. There is a mezzanine that runs inside the perimeter of the space. If you can grab a seat along the railing you can peek down and people watch. PATIO: When the weather is good, then this is a great option. The outside patio faces west so that you can hoot and holler as you watch one of Seattle’s glorious sunsets. NEIGHBORINGSTUFF: There are plenty of other things to do within walking distance, which include other drinking venues. Directly across the street to the south is a brick building built in 1905. This used to house trolley cars for Seattle’s rail system. This is also the original site of Red Hook Brewing(now in Woodinville). Catty-corner to Brouwers is a parking where movies are projected onto the west wall of the Fremont Dock Company for the Fremont Outdoor Cinema. And if you walk two blocks south you can watch boats pass through the Fremont Cut. BEER: 64 taps. The selection of beers is consistently solid. What I like about their beer menu is that they group the beers by their region of origin. I recommend checking the Web site before coming in because they regularly have themed events where the taps are taken over and weigh in heavily in one slice of the beer spectrum. FOOD: Food is served, but unfortunately I cannot rate this since I’ve never eaten here. Overall, this is a strong recommendation for beer fanatics, whether they be local or from out-of-town.

Brouwer’s Café reminds me of my days in Belgium and I feel lucky to have stumbled upon it. I was surprised that my nearly 38 year old self was carded at the door by a bouncer, especially at 5pm on a Thursday but I handed over my ID with no complaints. Once carded and approved, we entered the massive space and the first thing I noticed were the number of taps behind the bar. There were too many to count but now that I have perused their website, I see that there are only 64 beers on tap. It looked like there were 564 beers on tap! We were seated on the patio and it did the trick(80 degrees and sunny that day!), although I must note that there is absolutely no view of aside from concrete walls and other patrons. I started off with cosmopolitans because we had been drinking cocktails up until that point and I did not want to mix and match with liquor and beer but the second cosmopolitan became too sweet for my liking and I switched to beer and got hammered. It is a shame that I do not recall the beer I was drinking because it was good. We concluded our visit to Brouwer’s Café by accidentally getting in someone else’s Über and consequently learning that Über does not have a good system of handling this scenario. Banner day had by all. Can’t wait to take my husband to Brouwer’s Café after my liver and kidneys have recuperated from this past weekend.

This place is amazing! They offer an incredible beer selection– this is the first time I’ve ever seen Trappist beers on tap. They’ve got a ton of other unique beers, like a mint chocolate stout. You seat yourself, either inside or on the breezy outdoor patio. Service is fantastic– all the servers are prompt and helpful. Go here for happy hour, and you’ll get your draft beer for a dollar less. The food is superb and a great deal to boot. For four dollars, you can get their medium plate of fries. These are piping hot, crisp, and perfectly salted. Get them with the dragon sauce, which has bourbon, ketchup, and a little bit of curry. So good! We also enjoyed the pretzel(which came so hot from the oven that we couldn’t even touch it for five minutes) with its house ground mustard and beer cheese, and the roast beef sandwich. The other foods that travelled near our table, such as the spaghetti and the lamb burger, looked delicious too! We were too full for dessert, but I’m itching to try their stout float. I’ll definitely be back!

This place was awesome! Outside it appears to be an average bar. Once inside, it feels like you’ve entered a clandestine meeting in a Bavarian warehouse! The drinks are well-crafted and priced, and the food is unique and tasty! I had the Traditional Mussels and Frittes… be sure to try the Bourbon Dragon sauce with your fries! Others at my table had the Lamb Burger. It was scrumptious, and had a very Greek-ish, fresh taste to it. The service was good, and the food took a bit to arrive. Overall, I will definitely be back!

Wow. What a really cool bar. This bar is exactly what I want a bar to be. Really laid back vibe, good music, good food and PLENTIFULAMOUNTSOFAMAZINGBEER. My girlfriend and I were fortunate enough to get their couch seat there and it made for such a relaxing evening. The bar wasn’t crowded on a Monday night but had enough people so it wasn’t eerily quiet. My girlfriend ordered the Prague(something) cocktail and it was pretty good. We also shared the mussels and fries and they were fantastic. The cream sauce the mussels were in was really tasty. The fries were cooked to perfection. The beer I had, Brouwer’s house IPA, was one of the best beers I have ever had in my life. My only regret was not having a few more of them. ;) Whenever I am in the neighborhood, I am stopping at Brouwer’s.

I had an awesome dinner experience at this spot! Upon arrival, you are immediately greeted by a replica of Mannekin Pis which took me right back to Brussels! The beer selection is unbelievable; I enjoyed both the house IPA and the IPA with cucumber and basil cask. We started with The Appetizer which was quite good; the bread was fresh and tasty, the cheese was soft and creamy, and the pickled veggies were a great complement with the cheese(although near the end, my body and taste buds had had enough pickled foods). We had the Lamb Deluxe which was the effing bomb. The meat was cooked PERFECTLY. It was juicy and hot and so flavorful. They nailed it with the topping combination of leaves and cheese and bacon(perfectly crispy) and more. Also, the fries must have been cooked in Heaven because they were out-of-this-world delish. Our server John was also awesome, personable, and did a great job of describing different drinks and food that we had questions about. Really cool ambience too with second floor seating that just wraps around the wall so you can peer down to check out the massive bar and other cool décor. I love this place! I’m sure I’ll be back soon(and often).

This place is so awesome. In fact, it’s high on my list to take out of towners and have never been a fail. Well, except for when it gets too busy. One of the reason why I love coming to this place is because of what seems to be a limitless selection of alcohol from around the world. There is seriously something for everyone here. Not only are their drink selection awesome, but so is their dessert. I have never been disappointed in a dessert here. However, perhaps my favorite part of this place is the atmosphere. I love sitting in the second level to peer down. It’s great setting, design, and layout. Plus, the ever so slightly creepy gargoyles are a fun sight.

Great selection of beer and great open space! There are two floors so it was easy to find a spot on a Sunday early afternoon. After we finished our drinks the room was pretty full though! I ordered a Mexican hot chocolate(tequila based) and it was a great morning drink and my BF got the hot totty which was standard but still tasty. Ask for the bottle list if you’re looking to buy to take a way. The book is PAGESSSSSS long.

There is street parking and then there is a lot across the street. I opted for the lot. I hate circling looking for parking, even if it’s free. Came here for a good-bye party for a friend. We were all seated upstairs. Lots of space for lots of people and the servers were really on their game! Definitely enjoyed the frites, but my fish(part of the fish and chips) didn’t make me happy. The breading to fish ratio made me sad. The frites made me happy. Hubby’s dish of vegetarian chili made him sad. However, the beer made him oh-so-happy! We think we chose the wrong dishes and can’t wait to go back to find new ones. :D However, service and frites make this a 4 star place for us.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews on here typically as I feel they aren’t always accurate. However I have gone here for a long time and once loved it, but as of late the service has been going down the can. There’s hardly a place that can touch their diversity in beer, whiskey, ciders alike so this makes it hard to make this. But for the third time in a very recent period their service has turned terrible. Some servers are great but typically it’s the managers and only a few of the staff that have made the experience pretty terrible. This is not a dive bar where i would expect this. I work customer service and feel I have a good perception of what good and bad service looks like. First time we were sitting in a booth and been there maybe tops 2 hours and the manager on duty asked us «if we were going to leave anytime soon, because they had many more people they had to seat.» I’m sorry if all of us were enjoying our time here and spending a good amount of money at your bar, but you don’t ask someone to leave because others are waiting to get seats. There are other ways to ask this politely. Recently I went for lunch and for my food to go. The food came on a plate and I said«Oh actually I asked for it to go, could we get a box?» the reply I shit you not was, «well, it wasn’t marked as it» as he stared at me. I blankly stared back wondering WTF just happened? Did I offend him? I again said, «a box would be great though» and he dropped it on the table and walked away muttering«well I’ll leave this here while you figure it out…» No fucking way now! I am not going here ever again, I am sorry Brouwers. You were once a glorious wonder before but have lost it all for me now. I hope others don’t experience this as it really is a great place aside from these instances.

Great some. Very warm for a big space. One of top 5 beer selections in Seattle and they have a killer whiskey option to boot. The food is very good but nothing jumps off the page. I hear the mussels are rad.

I came here for a work lunch recently. I was told I should have ether the steak with whisky crème sauce, the lamb burger or the stoofiees. The first thing I can say about this place is the service is horribly slow. Small parties looked like they got taken care of quick but we waited and waited just to place a drink order. I ordered a diet soda and had to ask 3 times to get it. I ended up going with the steak and fries. Let me go over the good parts first. The sauces where amazing. I got the whiskey crème sauce with my steak and the dragon sauce for my fires. Both made this dish. The crème sauce was rich and full of flavor with a hint of that wonderful whiskey. The dragon sauce had just enough spice to make the fries wonderful. On the down side they cant cook a steak to save there lives. I ordered my steak Blue and got medium. A friend ordered medium and got medium rarer. I could go on but let me say not one of use got the temperature we ordered. I did try the stoofiees and this was amazing. Soft beef with crunchy fries and a rich gravy. This is the dish to have if you go here. I would go back for an after work drink the whiskey and beer list are amazing here. If you are with a small group the service might not suck. But with a group of 14 it took almost 2 ½ hours to get in and out. Way to long for a work lunch.

Excellent service. Fun, chill atmosphere. Fabulous beer and drinks, if you aren’t sure what to pick from the giant beer selections ask your server, ours was very knowledgable. The food was great too, we ordered the lamb burger deluxe with a salad, it was just perfect. Also ordered the seafood special with clams, a Spanish romesco sauce and it was phenomenal. We will definitely be back, found a new Seattle favorite!

Amazing beer selection with many that I had never seen before. We stopped here to rest our legs and enjoyed the patio and a friendly dog that a patron had in a small pouch. Wait, we didn’t eat the dog, that came out wrong in print. Anyways, cool place that is in a great location and has great prices on a wide variety of beer. Hopefully we can return to sample some of their food.

Come during Power Hour and indulge in a couple affordable eats while sipping on your beer. The pretzel is solid, cheese plate was good to munch on, roast beef was decent, and the deluxe fries were huge! Probably not the biggest fan of their beer cheese, but nothing to write home about. They have a huge tap list, huge bar with tons of seats, and friendly bartenders. We were in & out before we knew it, but service was great throughout and the food came out quickly and all at once. If you’re looking for a good place to grub while enjoying some beer, Brouwer’s is a solid choice.

Went out on a date and we wanted a quiet place to rest for the evening. But neither of us wanted a loud place with TV or smoke. So this looked like a perfect place to rest up before heading back up to my friends place. I loved the wooden interior and light yellow light so it was easy on the eyes. It was not overly packed at midnight and service was friendly, even though all we got was a hot chocolate and tea. We don’t drink very much lol We were happy to have a warm place to stay and converse together, so grateful to find a nice place. Can’t comment on food as it was already closed, be nice to try next time.

Whenever I visit Seattle I always plan a soirée to Brouwer’s. On this trip I introduced my nephew to this fine establishment. If you love great beer, scotch, and good food this is the place to go. Service is great and the servers are experts on their wide variety of beer and they will take the time to provide you with detailed guidance on the intricacies each beer and or scotch. We had a few seasonal beers a perfect single malt scotch. Yes we had a DD so no worries driving home. We also had a few appetizers as well and they were wonderful. Don’t be intimidated by the, seemingly endless, drink choices your server will gladly assist. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Great selection of local beers and belgian ales. The fries are on point and my cassoulet was perfectly comforting given the blustery cold of the outside. I’ve not had good cassoulet in a while and it really hit the spot.

Atmosphere is great for beers and food. Perfect gastropub environment. However, I’d definitely recommend coming early on weekends to grab a table, there’s limited seating due to its small dining area. Food: they have a pretty good gastropub food selection. A lot of their food is fries based(steak frites, pomme frites, etc) but they do have some delicious mussels, and an awesome cioppino. I’ve also gotten the lamb burger which I think is more bang for your buck. You get to choose sauces for your fries and i like the dragon sauce(it basically tastes like ranch with srirachia). Drinks: Great selection of beers on tap, can never go wrong with that here! Service: Overall great service, we had a table of 12 people and they handled us pretty nicely for a Saturday night(aside from the slight bill mix up — they put a bunch of beers on different peoples bills). Overall, I’d definitely come back here again. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s a heck of a lot of fun inside!

This is still one of my favorite places in Fremont, heck ALL of Seattle. If I am in the area and feeling like a great Belgium beer I always stop in, that is pretty much everyday. Summer is the best time at this place because you can sit out side and enjoy great food and probably the best Belgium beer selection in the state. The food has constantly been very good and the wait staff is fantastic’ plus I have yet to find any of them not to have some knowledge of their beers and they have a LOT!!! Nothing is more annoying when you go to a restaurant and the staff has no clue about what they have on draft. I think yesterday I counted more waitresses and waiters than customers. The only thing I am happy about is that they are not closer because I would be here all of the time and I would put on a ton of weight. Brouwer’s is one of those place that I would visit even if I moved away from Seattle and there are very few of those places on my list. Great job guys!

The food here is terrific. I’m a fan of the lamb burger and the fries„ I know I’m not the only one. There is a terrific selection of beers here, you’ll be sure to find something you want from terrific breweries around the world. This place is nice but not fancy, it’s got a European pub style to it. It’s not a bad spot to meet a group of friends. I do wish they’d offer tastes of beer, but I kind of get that it wouldn’t work well logistically. The servers do know what their product so if you have a question or if you’re looking for something in particular, ask. You’ll get a helpful answer.

After a 12 hour drinking adventure the day before, it’s no wonder Johanna T. and I woke up with a slight hangover. When in Seattle… «go big or go home», right? More like«last night’s decisions, today’s regrets,» hah! Usually after a night of beating the crap out of my liver, I don’t have much of an appetite the next morning. Unfortunately, we had planned to dine at Brouwer’s Café after seeing the awesome reviews of that lamb burger. I definitely could not stomach even half of the burger, so we ended up ordering something lighter. — Brouwer’s salad(Baby spinach & red onions tossed with our dijon-sherry vinaigrette. Topped with toasted hazelnuts and gorgonzola.) $ 8.50: pretty healthy tasting! There was a little too much dressing, but I didn’t mind. — Brouwer’s Mussels and frites(Penn Cove mussels. Sautéed carrots, celery, onions, and leeks in a witbier cream sauce. Served with fresh baguette.) $ 15: they definitely don’t skimp on the mussels, so you have a whole pot to enjoy! The fries looked SOGOOD… but I could only eat with my eyes because I was scared it would just come right back up. :X Brouwer’s Café is a 21+ establishment, so even if you aren’t planning to drink, you’ll still get carded. The pub is one of the most gorgeous pubs I’ve ever seen in my life. They have upstairs, downstairs, and outdoor seating. Both of the bars look fantastic! Happy Hour is everyday from 3pm-6pm: $ 1 off drafts and wells & food specials Because I wasn’t feeling 100%, I couldn’t even stand to look at the 64 beers on tap, bottles of beer and scotch, or even the drinks menu, lol! But you best be sure I’ll be back to check out the drinks next time I’m in Seattle. Cheers!

Brouwer’s is pretty awesome. The European pub-like décor is a refreshing scene from the rest of Seattle bars. It’s dark, medieval, and has a great ambiance. One of the best lamb burgers you can get in Seattle(and not gamey!). Seriously, so juicy, so delicious! Pair it with a sour and you’re golden. Oh, and ask for some dragon sauce =P The pretzels are pretty soft and delicious. Love the stone ground mustard, so tangy and perfect. If you’re a cheese snob(almost typed sneeze chob LOL) your name is written all over them. On a side note, if you’re interested in drafts, hit this place up!

Two things: 1. Their(grass-fed, ground in-house) lamb burger is amazingly delicious! That was one of the best burgers I’ve ever consumed, due to the meat quality and white cheddar. I substituted a side salad instead of the fries, and it was totally worth the $ 1.50 up charge for a nice portion of leafy spinach, gorgonzola, toasted whole hazelnuts and a light dressing. 2. With 60+ beers on tap, and the wide variety offered, this place is a beer connoisseur’s paradise. Looks like the on tap offerings rotate regularly, one still on the menu that is a must try is the Ecliptic Blackberry Sour(assuming you like sours, which is an acquired taste). Wish they spruced up their outdoor patio a bit and installed more shade. Crazy cause it never rains when I visit Seattle, even though I’ve been multiple times!

I came here for dinner with a friend. The vibe was cool, a little hard to describe. Maybe like sex dungeon mixed with a beer hall. I’ve never been to a sex dungeon, but it was dark and had a German feel and there was a gargoyle so I assume I’m not too far off the mark. But I digress. I ordered the croque monsieur with the fries and chipotle mayo. There were plenty of fries, and I quickly decided that a big sauce cup full of basically nothing more than slightly spicy mayo was not my ideal condiment. I asked for a different sauce from the server, who listed a few choices. I went with the innocuous-sounding«house sauce», but I just ended up with an identical-looking, slightly different-tasting huge cup of mayo for 75 cents. My sandwich was cheesy, crunchy and savory with a nice creamy white sauce, but when all was said and done it was pretty much just a smallish grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a huge plate of fries and two heaping servings of orange mayo. We ordered the cheesecake afterwards. They make these in-house and the particular type of cheesecake rotates. For our visit they had a cherry cheesecake, which was my favorite part of the meal. Instead of just a plain piece of cheesecake with a bunch of cherry syrup drizzled on, they had incorporated the cherry flavor straight into the cake, which had a buttery graham cracker crust. Bonus review from my friend, who had the steak Caesar: Beginning: This is just a salad with steak on it End of meal: This is the best salad I’ve ever had. That being said he complained that he could have eaten three of them and still have been hungry.
