We order 1 thing here and have only ever ordered 1 thing here and that 1 thing is the G A R L I C — F R I E D — C H I C K E N *Cue sound of Heaven’s gates opening. We first tried it at a party. Our friend brought a platter of it. It was the biggest hit. Crunchy. Perfectly fried. Garlic goodness. It’s like the best of stadium garlic fries joined with perfect fried chicken. What more can you ask for in life? The platter is $ 30 bucks and you can call ahead to order and pick up later. It’s a little shop next to a sketchy looking dentist up the hill and to the left from international district’s house of hong(our fav dimsum place). My husband and I half that $ 30 platter but its more than enough for a party. Wait, maybe I shouldnt publicize that? Oh well. ONLYCON I will say… In our last order we found tiny feathers on 4 of the wings. It was really weird. But its also kind of expected from the look of the place. This is just sounding bad as I type it, but it really wasn’t a huge deal. I think the flavor compensates tremendously for this 1 time gross experience. But its so good still that we’ll still order here in the future and perhaps use more caution and be on the lookout for feathers. Again, weird. But true.

This is my first time to this deli and I am very impressed! I order a platter of garlic chicken wings and egg rolls. Everything went smoothly from start to finished. PROS: Location: located in International district. Easy to find. 5 – 6 parking spaces available right in front. Service: I placed my order two days before and it was steaming hot ready by the time I picked it up. The owners are very sweet and friendly. The deli was very clean, filled with pre made meals and hot items. Food: The garlic chicken wings are delicious. Seasoned and battered very nice with chunks of garlic. One of the best wings that I’ve had from a deli. The egg rolls are also very good, nice meat to veggie ratio. Both were freshly made. Price: Very seasonable prices. $ 25 for 50 egg rolls and $ 30 for platter of chicken wings. They take both cash and credit card!

Had their coconut jelly was awesome. I didn’t like their pandas yogurt. The banh Hoi comes with fish sauce wasn’t as fresh. Tammy bakery sells fresher banh Hoi. However the fish sauce was plentyful and good.

Wow $ 3 for a Bin Ma sandwich at 10 inches long, fresh veggies and a good roll. I had the chicken. I’ve paid $ 7 for the same size sandwich. I’ll be back to try the pork.

If you haven’t heard already, this is the place to get garlic chicken wings!!! They only sell it on the weekends. You can order a small tray for $ 30 or large tray for about $ 50. The wings are so crispy!!! I order it for all kind of events and I’ve always heard positive comments about the wings. They also have a good hot food selections. Since I work close by, I prefer to come here if I’m craving Vietnamese food. The prices and food are better than Seattle Deli. The portions are good too!!!

The BEST place in town for fried garlic chicken wings(Did I mention THEBEST?), egg rolls, and roast veal(be thui). Other deli items are great as well, but those are so far my favorites. Super friendly cashier! Their banh cuon isn’t the best(despite the store name), but good enough. Seriously, try their chicken wings… The taste and quality speak for themselves! :). TIPs: Call ahead to order especially if you want the garlic chicken wings.

I do admit that going to a Deli that has Banh Cuon in the name should have made me pick some up but I instead went to grab same Cha Lua and Nam. I recently moved and needed to find a place with some of my favorite eats. This place is awesome and so is the owner, gave us a lot of information on some of their hot items and also advised us they do catering trays. After going home and trying the Cha Lua, this place is the best! The Nam was sweet for my taste, I prefer sour but it could be that batch or just the way they prepare it here. The quality of ingredients was excellent. I wish this wasn’t far but totally worth the drive. I would suggest calling ahead if you are looking for a large quanity of items as they were busy when we were there.

Their Banh Mi sandwiches are only $ 2.50. They have a small variety of options– I tried the combo meat and it was exceptional. Good bread, tasty veggies, nice serving of meats. Lots of other people in the store were ordering the BBQ pork– so I’m guessing it must be good. If you’ve tried Seattle Deli and Saigon Deli(both within 50 years of this place) — this place is right around the corner and worth trying if you’d like to compare their respective takes on a Banh Mi.

Having braced luke warm food from every Vietnamese deli in the ID, I contest that I like this one the best. Sure you can wait in line at Saigon Deli with every other chump… Or you can support the deli that actually serves a better banh mi. Give it a try. Just not the shumai… I think they are made exclusively out of tendon.

This place is teeny and easy to miss, but it’s worth looking for. It’s a really good Vietnamese deli in a neighborhood that’s very saturated with Vietnamese delis. The sandwich I ordered had a roll that reminded me of authentic Philly cheesesteaks back home, just the right chewy texture. It was my first Vietnamese-style sandwich and the juxtaposition of those flavors with the familiar texture of the food I used to eat as a kid was unusual, but welcome! Everything was really cheap there. I got a drink, a sandwich and a big salad for the next day all for $ 7. Really good food and great prices.

Tan Dinh has the best banh cuon in the area for very cheap! You really couldn’t ask for better since it’s deli food. Although they specialize in banh cuon they also make all of the other usual Vietnamese deli foods that are ridiculously tasty, oily and delicious! I’m only giving them three stars however because the guy running this joint is a bit on the rude side. I stopped in here with my Mom. When we asked for some banh uot he handed us a package from the counter. We said we wanted it from the back kitchen because it usually comes out hot from the kitchen and he said it’s whatever it’s all the same doesn’t matter, shouldn’t matter. Not the kind of attitude you should be having when speaking to an elder twice your age bud.

Why only reviews on Banh Mi here? The real treat here is the savory Vietnamese comfort food soups like their Bun Rieu(Crab noodle soup), two varieties of steamed rice rolls(their specialty called Banh Cuon), and Viet Congee. On top of that, they have buffet style combos that have all the traditional Viet food that conjures up Mom’s home cooking memories. Lastly, the prices are insanely affordable AND they take credit cards. As for Banh Mi, you have Seattle Deli and New Saigon across the street if you don’t care for it here. Just sayin’.

You will miss this place if your not looking for it. But you won’t miss it if you did. Average Vietnamese deli. There are about 6 within a half mile vicinity. I don’t know if this place sets itself apart enough to make it worth visiting. The people are real nice, and the sammys are good. If you need a Vietnamese treat and no one else is open, you can come here.

Meh. This place is my last resort when I’m looking for a small quick bite. I’ve only tried their banh cuon, eggrolls, and a few hot dishes but I wasn’t very impressed. The place is tiny, you can probably fit 5 people max at any one time. One thing that I definitely buy here are their eggrolls. They have tiny eggrolls which are 4 for $ 1 and they’re yummy! When we go to dinner parties and I don’t have time to make anything, this is the first place that I stop at to pick up some of their small eggrolls. It’s a great deal and always a hit at parties.

I’m surprised there aren’t many reviews on this place. It seems pretty busy at lunch time and after work, frequented by all types of people. I come here almost weekly for lunch. It’s a nice grab-and-go spot. The food is cheap and good ‘most of the time’. It’s across from Seattle Deli, kind of hidden between Rainier/Boren Ave and 12th. I try not to come here in the evening because I’ve received smaller portions for the same thing I order for lunch. Maybe because it’s a different person doing the scooping. Anyway, I like the food here. You can find all the Vietnamese sandwiches here. Pretty good at $ 2.25 each. You can also get their deli food. Two items with rice = $ 4. I really like their beef stew and their chicken curry. Vietnamese curry is my favorite curry. The egg rolls here are good too, 2 for a $ 1. Tasty and crispy. I like to order a couple of the $ 3 containers of their deli food and make rice at home, then I’m good to go for dinner for 2. Six bucks, tax included! :)
