I usually eat at Seattle deli but because they don’t take card I came here. I saw the reviews on Unilocal and said sure. I ordered a BBQ pork sandwich, meatballs, and egg rolls for about 9 $. Let’s say they were all super good, I enjoyed my meal, and I was satisfied. I will definitely come back.

I, usually, stop by here for a Vietnamese iced coffee. Always delicious! I’ve had their noodles to their sub sandwiches. Pretty much everything is delicious. What like is that there’s already made foods, too. Whoever cooks the food definitely knows all of the flavoring and seasoning to the food. You won’t regret it here.

3.5 stars. $ 3 for banh mi. I tried their grilled pork. I love the texture of the actual bread. Nicely crunch on the outside(after being toasted) and fluffy on the inside. Probably the best Vietnamese bread I’ve had.. Ratio of filling to bread was perfect. The pork was missing the charbroiled/grilled taste and was a bit on the fatty side. The jalapeño was nice and spicy. The pickled carrots and daikon, and the cucumbers were a bit more wilted than I would like. A bit too much of «mayo» for my liking as well. Overall a good sub; just a bit of tweaking and it’d be perfect. The owners were nice. I may try their traditional cold cuts next time and ask them to go easy on the mayo. There were other traditional items I may try next time too.

Best iced coffee. Best banh mi. Easy parking. Bring cash & don’t be afraid to point at the selections(not everything is labeled). Will be back!

My favorite Viet deli in Seattle. This is where I go for bahn mi. I like it because they have a fish option, but there are many other options for sandwich. They have been consistently good.

for $ 10 you can get a 2-item lunch special with white rice, and 2 very good banh mi sandwiches. it all tastes good, and that amount of food will feed me all day(and I’m a big eater!). Parking is convenient, and service is fast. Can’t ask for much more.

Great BBQ sandwich for $ 2.50. My wife got two sandwiches and bubble tea for $ 8 even. Got home and ate the big sandwich and we were happy.

Best Vietnamese sandwiches for a very nominal price! And always friendly service! I only really love the Vietnamese sandwiches here because it is still 2.50/sandwich! I don’t know why but I think it has the best combination of vegetable and meat portion. They know me here so they always ask about my family, etc. without trying to really sell me more stuff so I appreciate that. Also a great place to get sugar cane drink! Better than Minh tam or lams seafood anytime!

Best Vietnamese sandwiches you can find in town for a price of only $ 2.5! My brother and me would normally go here in the morning to have BBQ beef sandwiches and sugerless green bean drinks. Not to mention the wonderful simmer shrimps they have. I would buy like three $ 10 boxes of them and bring it to parties with my American friends and all of them absolutely love it! The reason I give them 4 star is the store is a total chaos whenever it is crowded. You wouldn’t be able to find out if someone is waiting in line or waiting for food or purchasing and the only key to order is to be the one who SHOUTS the loudest. Overall: great food, friendly people, definitely recommend!!!

for the folks posting about how«unclean» this place is or how it was shut down for health violations… cry me a river! geez! and stop coming here and making my wait for some bomb ass food so long! I’ve been a patron of Saigon Deli since I was knee high to a duck. None of their food has stunted my growth — nor the growth of my belly(sadly). The food goes so quick that you probably never have to worry about freshness as they don’t have a choice but to restock on items. $ 5 two item food combos that tastes(almost) as good as a home cooked meal and $ 1.75 foot long sub sandwiches… i mean come on — how does it possibly get better? wash it all down with a $ 2 vietnamese coffee that’s 4 times as strong and 10 times more delicious that a $ 7 fancy 10-word coffee at starbucks. This is the OG spot for most Asians who want good Vietnamese Fast Food. They’ve been around for ever and then some. And there’s a reason for it too!

I like coming here. They keep the price low, the food hot and fresh, and the LONG line moving fast! Their banh mi is my favourite in town. Not only they’re tasty, any kind of banh mi is $ 2.50!(My personal faves are 3 kind of ham, fried egg(it’s good for breakfast!), and combo(when I am feeling indecisive)) If you’re not feeling like having banh mi, get their lunch box. $ 5 and you got a boatload of rice and 2 entrees.(Extra $ if you want seafood.) Often time my lunch box lasts for 2 meals, that’s how generous the portion is. Speaking about generous, their a la carte items are plenty to choose from and by jove, they pack it into the box.($ 5 will get you a large box of stir fry veggies or a medium tub of shrimps, etc.) SVD also has fried spring roll(2 for $ 1), fresh spring rolls, meatballs, vermicelli with shrimp and pork plate, and many more. Dessert items? Just turn around and check out the fridges. Bubble tea? Vietnamese coffee? They’ve it all! Have a party, but you don’t want to cook for it? Just ring them and place orders for… well… whatever on their menu. Anyway, cleanliness and flavour are my things… this place keeps both in check. OH! If you pay with cash, they won’t charge you tax. That’s like an extra spring roll or dessert item. :)

Were here a few days ago with my brother and it was my first visit. We got there around 5pm and boy this place was packed! But then again this place was small to begin with… so with 10+ people in it felt so crowded. =) Goodies goodie so many goodies! I got so excited just looking at them. lol. Ordered 10 chicken banh mi… and boy they made those sandwiches pretty fast. Will definitely come again.

It was probably luck, or fate to walk in here, already full from an early breakfast across the street, and construction on Jackson Street, steered us here, as my car was located in another plaza. For me, when I look at a place, if it looks a little dingy, seems to have been around for awhile, and people are going in and out, something tells me the money didn’t go into the renovations, and it’s all about the product, hence me and my partner, full already from our meal, ventured in. This place is in the middle of an older plaza, one green door, in hiding all the Vietnamese goodness once you enter. Did I say this place is small, sometimes you will see people eating outside the shop, there are no tables here, no stools, no window sill with a little area to place some food you are about to buy, just know when you go in, you will be buying food. There is a kitchen in here, cooking up all the food you are going to want to buy, the stuff is under heat lamps, but from the times I have been there, they aren’t under them for long, as people come in and pick up stuff to take out and devour somewhere else. On the front counter, some prepackaged foods, from rice rolls, to sticky rice wraps with banana, and meats. Some things looked very colorful, but everything in here just looks right, if you don’t understand Vietnamese, it maybe hard to understand what is in some of the food in here as the people who run this joint mainly speak their mother tongue but it did not deter me and my partner from leaving with bags of food on both occassions we were here. On the other side of the store there are a bunch of fridges, filled with cool things like pre-made mixed drinks, some with jellies, some with flowers, and other herbs. Other things that I noticed were in-store made spring rolls in zip-lock freezer bags, Vietnamese meats(or ham) in a roll. Dumplings and other things I couldn’t name, had no label, but I would still drop money to buy cause you know that it would be good. From reading some of the other reviews here, the Banh Mi seems really good, haven’t got a chance to eat this, but when I return, this will definitely be a stop. On a side note, it was good to buy all the food that we did going back, as the border line-up was long, and we ended up eating a bit of our eats. The wait is less bearable when you have good food you can already eat!

Thanks to construction, I was forced to make a detour that let me to passing this place. What really caught my attention was I can smell and see all the cooked food laid out like food stands you find in Asian markets. I was there to check it out but left with bags of food. Everything looks insanely authentic and delicious. When you walk through the door on your left you will see rows of hot food sitting in metal hot holding units under bright yellow lights highlighting the vibrant colors of assorted cooked meats and fish. In front of the glass case you will find prepackaged cooked food such as savory rice rolls, rice in bright orange color, deep fried fish cakes, green papaya salad, and many more mysterious pastries which I’ve never seen but all look irresistible. More prepackaged food are laid on the table right adjacent to the food I just described but this time they are in big squares and rolls, all wrapped up in some sort of leaf. I couldn’t figure out what they were as they were all written in Vietnamese. A female staff member was kind enough to tell me they are sticky rice, with green bean crumbs and minced pork. The freezers are worth checking out. Homemade spring rolls waiting to be taken home and fried. You can tell they are homemade because they are packaged in zip-lock bags. Oh how I want to take you home and fry you in hot oil. Sorry, diverted. There were frozen coconut rice cakes(I think). I wish they would come with cooking instructions. I left with a rice roll, a savory sticky rice with shaved chicken bits and fried shallots, and a beverage containing seaweed strands, dragon eye fruit, dry red dates, and white fungus. The former two were the best I’ve ever had. The deli places in Vancouver just couldn’t keep up with the authenticity of what this place has to offer. I would like to visit Vietnam one day, but for now, 2 hours of driving would do if that’s what it takes. The beverage was too sweet for my taste but quite refreshing. And please note there are no tables or chairs. It’s literally you grab and get out. Regardless, this is one of my MUSTHIT shops in Seattle.

Always has great food. The buns are always crispy and really rich in flavor. It is a great picnic stop we head here before going to Seattle Center and adventure off to alki beach. Prices are always cheap. The people here are nice and my mommy is always good at negotiating that she gets the food for the price she wants(psss even cheaper). I believe I learned a trait from my mommy on negotiating so I learn to get away with foods and stuff I want even when I am low on budget. lol, hey it works!

You know why winning the lottery rules? Because you win lots of money that allows you to buy lots of things. But Saigon Vietnam Deli is equally awesome because although you don’t get lots of money, you get lots things for almost no money at all. Today I popped in to spend some money on a quick dinner. In less than 5 minutes I bought two banh mi sandwiches, a 4-pack of cream puffs(yes, the ones they use at Than Bros!) a cheese wheel and a soda, all for $ 9 flat! I still cannot believe it. So for under $ 10 I bought apps, dinner, drinks and desert for two people. I don’t know any other place in town that’s this cheap. Better yet — they’re quick! I got home to devour my sandwich and it was the best banh mi I’ve ever had in Seattle. It’s almost like I’m being punk’d. I get quick, cheap service and good food, all for almost free? Ok Kutcher, where are you!
