AW Hoss and Son

Update:
Apparently summer vacation, missed communication and some potential management changes was the culprit for the poor response time. After meeting with staff, we arranged to have the work done. It was done very well, the wood was cleaned and freshened up, the cushions restuffed and fabric replaced as promised. The delivery time was a little over 2-​weeks — very acceptable.
Was referred by neighbor for reupholstering a few chairs. Called a few times and staff was confused and not responsive. Google said Saturday hours till 2pm, sign on door said 1pm, arrived at 12:50 and no answer.
After taking chairs to store and pick out fabric, spent half an hour looking through books to find «several checked out». Left our number and told they would call next day, a week later they aren’t returning our call.
Perhaps if you are decorator may get better service, heading to greenwood and try Gabels.

They did a great job with my old chair. It’s pricey but worth it.

This turned out to be the worst experience we could have had. We did not get what we ordered, it took three times as long as we were told and it cost 25% more than we were told up front. Do not go to these guys.

Eight months ago I gave Larry Hoss of Hoss & Sons my french antique caned chair to have it re-​caned. I have called, texted, phoned both Larry’s cell and the shop no less than ten times over the last six months, and I have gotten no response. I spoke at length to Alan Hoss, who I believe owns the business, and he had no explanation, no apology, and even bettert he was cranky and peevish in his response. He assured me three months ago that Larry would call me, and yet no contact. My next step will be to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and if that fails to get a response, I will be forced to file a lawsuit to be reimbursed for the cost of replacing the chair. This has been a hangnail in my life for the past six months. I would give negative stars if I could because they have earned it. DO NOT under any circumstances trust these people with your furniture.
UPDATE: By some miracle (or was it because I Unilocaled?), Larry had his brother drop the chair at my house this afternoon. He apologized via text but offered no explanation for his extreme ineptitude. I stand by my advice to STEER CLEAR!!!

Have used Hoss and Son for recovering two small to medium size pillows. Was very pleased with the work. Experience some miscommunication but the owner took the time to remedy the situation. Would recommend to my friends and family.

We are currently having Hoss and Sons do our 4^th project with higher end Danish Modern furniture. These guys are the BEST! They are very straight forward, quick turn around and come in at or under the estimate given. Would highly recommend to friends and family!

Rich and his crew are easy to work with, do great work, communicate thoroughly about cost, ask questions about how you want your project done, and execute it in a timely manner. They aren’t the cheapest, but quality work never is. I’m enormously pleased and am using them on a large redecorating project on my home. They are also very cognizant of deadlines!

Hoss and Son is as good as it gets! I’ve givin these guys some pretty challenging projects and they always rise to the occasion. The last project they did for me was building and upholstering all my booth seating at my new restaurant Citrus on South Lake Union. The quality was awesome and the crew is always smiling. I was in their showroom for about an hour and a half looking through tons of samples, which I liked, but was totally ignored. It seems that the phone calls from mom, friends, and everyone else were more important than helping a potential client. After I was finally noticed, and apologized to, I checked out the samples I needed.
The really aggravating event happened on my return… Of course, the fabric I chose was discontinued. Another family member came out of the office, began to help me try to find something similar, but was distracted again by another bunch of personal phone calls. She didn’t even bother to excuse herself. Unbelievable… good thing everyone there is related. Conduct like this would get them fired anywhere else.

This is the very best place to have furniture upholstered in Seattle. The workmanship, customer service and prices are excellent. I am so pleased with the work they have done for me. Mr. Al Hoss is a treasure and a tremendous resource. This company is better than excellent — and that’s the truth!
Also, the fabric selection is amazing. There is something for every budget here.
