This is my favorite Ethiopian restaurant! The veggie combo is amazing and there is always enough to share. The service is excellent. The restaurant is run by a sweet family who always remembers me. The food is very fresh and the veggie combo is piled high with various lentil and vegetable dishes.

I really like this place. The first time we rolled in we were super super hungry and ordered two of their everything combos — and our server just shook his head like, no way ladies. So we reluctantly agreed to share one, and it was totally enough food. I really enjoy the variety of flavors in the combo and the veggie combo, I like the meat and lentil sambousek, and I dig the Ethiopian beer they serve. And it’s a fun place to go with friends because it’s so easy to share everything.

Love this place! Such a nice, casual local family business run by an Ethiopian family. I haven’t had Ethiopian food for such a long, long time and have been craving for it lately. Luckily, there’s decent community of Ethiopians here in Seattle, so I didn’t have to travel far. I got a chance to chat with the owner’s daughter, who was helping out waiting my table. She was super nice and friendly, too. The meals here are cooked fresh from scratch(so maybe you have to wait a bit). The portion size is hugeee! Just one dish and you can share with two people(and may even have left over). SUPER reasonable price(ranges from $ 9-$ 14 a meal). I had their Beg tibs($ 12 — tender lean lamb cubes sauteed with onions, peppers and some spices). It came with a very generous portion of injera(Ethiopian thin sourdough pancakes), Miser Lentils(spicy lentils) and Atkelt Wot(sauteed assorted vegetables with spices). The lamb was well cooked and was not smelly at all. Aww. and the moment I took a bite of their injera with a dab of their lentils and some Atkelt Wolt .I felt a major foodgasm rushing in me … oooo~~~… :D~~ P. S. The meals here are prepared to be eaten/shared with other people using hands to eat… so be ready to get messy and go with people/close friends whom you don’t mind digging your hands into the same dish with! :D

It is a nice little place nothing fancy but seems to be family run which is really cool The lamb dish we got was pretty good, a bit oily but seems to be common at Ethiopian places. The vege platter was a bit disappointing though. I really love vegetables but didn’t feel very happy with this order. Service was good and very friendly. 30 dollars for 2 people and it was plenty of food even though we were quite hungry.

On my second to last day in Seattle, I sent my family to this Ethiopian gem. A bit different in terms of flavor from what I’ve used to in Culver City(west la) but ooo so yummy. We ordered 1. Addey Combo(lamb, chicken, beef, veggie stuff) and 2. Lamb wat(stewed ground lamb). Btw, portions were huge(good for hungry family)

The food was fast, affordable, and tasty. Order the veggie combo to get a feel for some of their dishes. The lamb tibs were pretty awesome too. Both dishes were more than enough food for two. I could barely move for hours after stuffing my face. Really it’s enough for like three people or so. The injeera… best ever!

My friends rave about Ethiopian food and how we should go to some fancy shmancy spot in the East Village rated $$$ on Unilocal… I usually make up some excuse(the real reason being I’m not about spending all that skrilla) Still, I’m always curious about those spongey pancakes hashtagged«#ethiopiancuisine» foodies post on IG… what are they called again? Injera! Yes…injera. Judging from the pics, I took them to be light and buttery… like a pancake. But after my teeth sunk into a soft pillow of cold dough I was disappointed to discover it had a rancid, acrid, sour taste.(Like sourdough) «The nerve of that place!,» I thought of the super sweet(in a sort of maternal way) hostess who had warmly greeted my hangry face at the(empty) restaurant earlier…“Sell me rancid bread!” Still, I knew I better google«injera» before lashing out and besides, the vinegary flavor was starting to grow on me too. Kinda like how sourdough, kombucha or wine taste gross at first, but then it grows on you? She had offered sauce but I felt weird being the only one in there… so I politely declined, grabbed my ziplock bag of injera and backpedalled it out of there. Now with only a couple crumbs left in my zippy, I wish had accepted her offer… as I hear it makes the injera a little easier on the pallete. #googletaughtme Ok friendly staff. Restsurant maintenance etc? Well, I did spot a comb with a few strands of hair clinging to it in the bathroom(hate to né whiny, but yeah, I’m neurotic like that) and they were burning that incense like there was no tomorrow… I would have lightened up on the incense(I mean the smoke was billowing) but that’s just me. Price is right too. $ 1.50 for 2 injera«circles»

Wow I had such a great experience here! I’ve wanted to try Ethiopian food for a while but I wasn’t too sure what to expect before walking into Adey. We ordered the $ 14 lamb combo to share and it was plenty of food for the two of us. There were two types of lamb, plenty of veggie stews, light salad, and a scoop of homemade cheese. I really like the spices they used and it was just so interesting to try injera for the first time! Such a fun experience using the injera to dip into all the dishes we had on our plate :) I was pretty surprised by how big the injera is. The texture of it was very soft and chewy. It was thick enough to not let the stew make it soggy when you wrap it. The taste of it for me was almost like a sourdough crêpe. Honestly, everything I tried felt fresh and cooked with love. I really believe this type of places is exactly why Unilocal is so great. I am so happy I got to try an ethnic cuisine I wouldn’t have experienced. Definitely coming back to support!!!

So much great food for such a small amount of money. Really enjoyed my visit to this Central District spot. Had a great vegetarian section, the combo was great but it was a lot of food. Vegan friendly food for sure.

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food. I had the veggie combo(vegan) and it was delicious! It was also a great deal at $ 11. It was a lot of food and I ate every bit of it! The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Slowest service ever but worth the wait. The veggie combo is huge and epically delicious. The sambusas are so good too.

If you’re looking to feed a group, this place is awesome. The $ 11 veggie combo is massive — it can definitely feed three people. It’s a good idea to get one entrée to share with the group and share the veggie combo if there are four of you — but that will still pan out to be $ 20 for four people. The food is delicious, fast, and the flavors are complex and vibrant. I have eaten at many a Seattle Ethiopian restaurant, and this one is my favorite. Tej — the honey wine — is delicious! $ 20 for a bottle, which will probably trump the cost of the food for the entire party, but is worth it. If you have dietary restrictions(like an allergy), it might be difficult to ask detailed questions to the serving staff. They are as helpful as they can be, but a few of our questions about the food were lost in translation. I see this place as kind of like eating in a family’s kitchen and less of a restaurant, which is something that adds to its appeal rather than detracts from it.

Recently finally gave this place a try. It was very clean, quaint, and nice enough. Was greeted warmly and with eagerness. I ordered the«Tibs» w/2 sides. Had it to go. Was ready in about 15mins. Got home and ate… very delicious!!! Put them on my «approval» list. Would recommend!

Was recommended by 4 friends who raved about the food, so I came. What a delicious special lamb meal. Balanced between the spices, the salad, and vegetable. And the portion is generously huge so bring a friend a share. It is always fun to rip the bread and use it to pickup the food. Go finger foods!

Naively thinking the $ 11 veggie combo plate would be my meal, and my companion would get another dish, I was gently assured by the waitress this was not the case. Yes. The *$ 11* veggie combo is actually enormous. Two of us couldn’t even finish the whole thing. This is definitely the place to come for a dinner that’s easy on the wallet. This was my first Ethiopian experience, so I appreciated all of the different choices that came with the dish. I learned which I might order as a full meal and which, albeit few, I’d pass on.

Very tasty food, however, there was a piece of tin foil in one of the dishes. I suspect this was an accident, but I would be lying if I said it didn’t effect how much I enjoyed the meal overall.

I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I really enjoyed the food I ate. We came here for dinner & I had the Adey Vegetarian Combo, which is a gigantic plate of about a million different vegetarian dishes — with injera, of course. It was a TON of food, way more than one person could reasonably eat, so I was able to bring leftovers home. Some of the dishes were a bit spicy for me, while others were just right. My fiancé had something from the meat portion of the menu, which he said was just okay. We were here on a Friday at dinner time and were the only people in the entire place, which was a bit odd. Other times, I’ve seen a lot of people in here, so I guess it just depends? On the other hand(the hand without the good food), there was a REALLY weird mishap when we tried to pay. My fiancé was paying with a credit card, and our total came to something like $ 30. They accidentally charged him $ 300. It took a REALLY long time(like, on the order of a half hour or so) for them to work it out. Two of them were fussing with the register, trying to figure out how to void it or what to do, and ended up just giving him CASHBACK for the ~$ 270 difference. I’m sure it was an honest mistake, but it was fairly annoying and definitely gave me pause. Writing this review makes me hungry for injera, and I’d probably go back here to get it, but would definitely think about just bringing cash to pay.

Delicious, consistent, affordable. Can’t speak to the dine-in experience, but a great spot for take-out. Super fast and the owners/staff are personable and always welcoming. Grateful to have this spot in walking distance. Also, pairs well with Chuck’s hop shop beer(if you aren’t feeling the food truck du jour).

If I were to rate this place on the injera alone, they would receive 5 stars. This is the only place that serves perfectly fresh and fluffy injera! I often go to another place quite regularly and although the other place is my favorite, they often serve injera that you can tell isn’t as fresh as it could be. Upon walking in, it was extremely quiet and there was no one that greeted us. We sat ourselves and sat there for about 5 minutes before anyone came out to say anything to us. The man who brought us our menus just came out of the bathroom, despite there being 2 – 3 people in the back who saw and heard us come in. Not a big deal, but it was a bit awkward going into a completely silent restaurant and seating ourselves. We ordered one of the meat combos and it came out fairly quick. I believe«doro WAT» means something chicken and it’s usually a saucy meat. Well, we got the doro *beef* and it usually tastes the same at most Ethiopian restaurants, but I wasn’t impressed with how it tasted here. It had a very bitter taste. The saucier meats are usually my favorite to eat when I get a combo, but both my cousin and I didn’t really eat much of it at this place.
